remember when Piccolo kidnapped Gohan with intention of making him his pupil so he could help him conquer the world after beating Nappa and Vegeta. What if instead of Piccolo being "corrupted" by Gohan and turning good, what if Gohan was corrupted by Piccolo and turned evil?

The world would be enslaved and everyone would die and when Cell comes around, Gohan would be even stronger because of more intense training his whole life, and then Gohan kills Piccolo because reasons. Okay, the last part is more speculative, but the first bit? Not that much. Since Gohan would be stronger, but evil, a lot of people die, and Cell would die too. And the Androids. Because Gohan would be the strongest. Hell Goku would probably try to bring him back to the light but eh, that might not work
If gohan was evil then they cpuldnt get past the frieza saga, gohan deflected the spirit bomb because he was pure of heart. In this version he would die. Without gohan, dende would never get saved from dadoria. They might not even make it to the ginyu force, even if they made it past that then frieza would kill them. If picccolo remained evil he probably wouldnt be able to train on king kais so frieza would kill him. Even if he did train, without dende then the z fighters would die before goku got there. Without them then goku would die against frieza. But if some how they make it to the cell saga the fact that piccolo and gohan are evil then that would have horrible effects on the series. If they are evil then there is no guarantee that they would train with goku for 3 years and that would make them much weaker. Piccolo would train with gohan in the time chamber and since mastered ssj was all gokus idea then that means gohan wouldnt achieve that and would even more weaker. Without gohan, goku wouldnt be as strong and since goku and gohan arent as steong that means vegeta and trunks dont have any reason to go in for a second year. Cell would kill them all, even if gohan got ssj2 he would not be strong enough. I dont think they would even survive long enough to fight the ginyu force because there was multiple times where vegeta was going to kill them but something happened and he would decide no to. Honestly there is no way they could survive if gohan and piccolo where evil

If its anything like the original, Mystic Gohan can't overpower Gotenks Buu, gets cocky when their fusion ends, and gets himself absorbed. Though Buu didn't absorb Piccolo this time, so maybe Gohan has a better chance of outsmarting Buu post-Gotenks. As for Cell/21, it stands to reason he'd be fighting on two fronts: externally vs Buu and internally vs Dabura. How's this for a weird scene: 17 and 18 fuse together inside Perfect 21 to defeat and subdue Dabura, a la Mario Bros Bowser's Inside Story, giving Perfect 21 a massive power boost (because the gestalt is greater than the sum, also fully adding Dabura's powers, like Naruto and Kurama), and clearing his mind of distractions.
I'm thinking Gohan might have a mild panic attack seeing Perfect Cell again, at that. Perfect Cell showing up actually might be enough of a distraction to allow Super Buu to absorb Gohan.

I want to see the next one!!!! I thought he was gunna have to absorb them there but then gohan arrived, this is one if not my favorite what-if because I loved cell as a character ( especially perfect cell )
What if Broly Was sent to Earth instead or with Kakarot? It would be quite interesting mainly because of the difference in Broly and Goku's power at the beginning. He would have become more spiritual compared to Goku. First of all, I would explain that by lack of training I didn't mean the total absence of it, only that which "instantly" raises the power level so he would still be learning martial art, Ki control, and other techniques, . I imagine it like this: Paragus and doctors after the birth of Broly notice that he is different and put him in isolation. The rest looks similar to the original story, but this time Paragus manages to send his son to Earth and so he replaces Goku (including his name) and he is raised by Grandpa Gohan but during the first transformation his tail was cut off. Because Broly was naturally strong at some point once he wanted to show of energy ball to Grandpa Gohan he did but lost control and accidentally killed him. Traumatized by this event he decided to stop training (become more peaceful etc) and focus on meditation and controlling emotions. The rest of the story looks the same (Bulma finds Broly (Goku), they go on adventure together, etc.) with the difference that Broly is much stronger than her opponents, and the Red Ribbon Army's robots are stronger than the original (maybe by one zero?) and less death among comrades and enemies, maybe only King Piccolo was killed (Pure evil and stuff), and characters like Raditz and Nappa (Yes, he would save Nappa from Vegeta) could join him because they would believed that he is a mythical Legendary Super Saiyan and that he may change the fate of Saiyans race. In "Vegeta Saga" Broly (Goku) as an adult would have a power level a weaker to Vegeta's great ape form (still without training) and only after Vegeta escape, Broly would realize that there are beings stronger than him, which would motivate him to back to training. Namek Saga: Very Similar Frieza Saga: Also very similar but instead of Super Saiyan transformation we see Legendary Super Saiyan transformation. Then Broly literally destroys Frieza in his final form and at the same time unintentionally destroying Namek. Affected by this he decided not to use this form ever again. Trunks Saga: Same, but this time Brolly believes Trunks and takes the medicine right away. Androids Saga: Also similar, only with the difference that to 16, 17 and 18 is added new Android (let's call him Dr. Gero Jr.). Who turns out to be Kakarot. In the flashbacks we learn that Kakarot capsule got into the Red Ribbon Army training ground, by what Dr. Gero decides to raise him as his own son and successor, but noticing the lack of intelligence, he decides to improve him cybernetically, increasing his intelligence (thus earning him a Ph.D.), strength, ki, etc. and thanks to the study of Saiyan biology Dr. Gero could better improve his machines. In addition, it allowed 17 and 18 to achieve the Super Saiyan form. Forcing Broly to achieve a weaker form of the Legendary Super Saiyan (Super Saiyan God Video). Cell Saga: Cell after absorption 17 and 18, and Kakarot he has attained the Ultimate (Ultimate Cell) form which was more human (no wings and "crown"). and just like DBZ Broly (Goku) dies and Gohan gets SS2 and kills Cell. Only in the Buu Saga Broly would again activate the true form of the Legendary Super Saiyan (as SS3 replacement), but now he can fully controlling this form. In general because Broly would be so strong he would have to constantly control his emotions and himself by rarely staying at home, showing emotions and pushing back people, in addition he would trained alone because he would be afraid to kill someone, so Piccolo would train Gohan and help him achieved SS1 form. But still he would be very positive eg by urging Yamcha to Ultra Divine Wate that could kill him because he believed that Yamcha is worthy. Gohan would be naturally stronger in this version, and Piccolo could be bigger father figure then in original. :)

Wouldn't Cell be able to eventually transform into his perfect form without absorbing 17 and 18? After Cell spat out 18 he went back to Semi Perfect Form but after getting a Zenkai Boost he was strong enough to be in his perfect form without the need for 18
But that only worked because his cells had already tasted perfection and remembered it. Like how the Sayian cells can remember a Transformation and Make it easier available over Time.

Im wondering if Cell waits until for them to fuse again. Then absorbs him allowing him to tap into a more perfect state. Put like this the infinite engines side by side are powerful. If the engines are combined with magical force of fusion new energy is produced. Maybe that it would alter cells color to a deep blood red. The change in color would signify a new cell. Not only that Dabura essence would further embedded. His voice is still there but a force no matter what cant be removed. Being an android Gohan and Buu arent aware this has taken place. Since cell still has good nature and is cocky he wants to face the winner. Then as Gohan looks over Buu tries to absorb Gohan. Becoming his ultimate state. Buu then tries to fight Crimson cell. Yet cell has his perfect intelligence. Not using power but speed and martial arts. Buu is confused clearly he is much stronger than cell. Yet cell uses martial arts and his superior speeds. Zipping throughout the field then even uses some of Dabura skills. The stone spit proves effective. Buu has to cut off his arm to keep himself alive. Buu cant understand this. Cell goes and says he has perfect intellect and a sinister mind. Even if your power far outpower him you lack skill and mobility. After seeing absorb gotenks he isnt going to give him the chance. Remember with Piccolo Buu wont have that intellegence. Just to summarize i think the emphasis should put on Dabura's schemes. Infinite stamina and cells high speed. Showing a playback like trunks that power isnt everything.
Forget the "canon" crap, DB Heroes has the opportunity in giving us Super 18. Existence is what matters when it comes to the OFFICIAL Dragon Ball FRANCHISE. Super 17 & Super 13 are a thing iin the FRANCHISE so anything that is an OFFICIAL property is canon by default. Seriously someday DB Heroes will deliver Super 18, I really hope so.

One of my thoughts is Cell in the Resurrection F movie. Especially if he is okay drinking people, even if there is a limiter like "only bad people'. Roshi mentions that everyone needs to take out about 170 of Frieza's minions. Each. Yes with Cell there that number should be lower but lets keep that number for more. Assuming each member of the Frieza force is relatively weak, say 10k, if Cell drinks the minions he is tasked with, his power level would jump over a million in that one fight. "If Frieza's tail gets cut off, I call dibs on eating it."
Continuing that thought, Gohan, Krillin and the others only knocked their opponents out.... meaning they are still alive and, relatively, well. Frieza clearly doesn't want them and we can't have them interfering later.... so Cell doesn't eat his 150ish that number could easily be twice to 3 times that. Cell gets a buffet!
Nooo, don't have 21 absorb the two of them! Have them fuse first, then 21 absorbs them, their power would be boosted as a fusion, and because it is still technically both 17 and 18 I think it would give 21 an even larger boost, if not a completely new, original, form, distinct from Perfect Cell. This is a what if after all, let's give our cuddley 21 a new form that is all his own. It would be a form to overpower Buu, but ultimately would fail due to dabura's meddling
@@ojpickle5923 yeah, they tried to re-fuse after buutenks beat the fusion out of then, but masako also said that gohan showed up all mystic to fight Buu, giving the Android's a chance to retreat and stratagise. ATM they are safely away and have agreed to let 21 absorb them, they would have plenty of time now to fuse again and then let 21 absorb them. Would result in a major increase in power, surpassing that of the original Perfect Cell post zenkai boost, and a moment that could truely define this new Cell as his own creature, rather than just the old cell with a new personality. If there is one thing some of Masako's what ifs could do better, at least the ones involving former villians turning good, is that they seem to follow, largely, the Radits became good template, Nappa's story is the only one that I feel never really suffered from this, as he definitely has been more developed as a character, and gaining the berserker form sets him apart from Radits turning good, but also kind of makes him similar to Broly being good. My point, in short, is that rather than largely just developing these character's personalities and making them deeper as individual characters, they should be allowed to grow beyond that, gaining traits and abilities all their own, and 21 would be the ideal candidate to get this treatment.

@@captain_dsz6049 that's what I think too, or at least the fusion form wouldn't work for very long, I can imagine that dabura's influence would deffinately have some sort of effect, I don't think it would be quite to the extent that it turns him completely evil, but rather would be more akin to driving him insane, as the two, or more, grapple for control. Remember, he would have absorbed 17 and 18, and while it's not the same as drinking them, they could be aware as well, considering they would be willing to do so. There are a lot of directions this story could take from here on out.
So, quick little check: The fusion from the fusion dance has a duration limited by energy, right? Like it wears off when the energy of the fusion wears off? Wouldn't the 17/18 fusion _not wear off_? They have those infinite energy reserves; how would Buu knock it out of them?
No the fusion dance has a limit of 30 minutes, if too much energy is being exerted then the time limit shortens or if they sustain a significant amount of damage. Hope this helps

"The art of the what-if" Could come in several different volumes based on specific what-ifs. A Raditz volume, a Nappa volume, a Bardock volume and so on. It'd be really cool to tie these all together as a piece of merchandise that he could sell.
I wouldn't mind just having a place to see the changes not really shown off like the bulkier Cell from Nappa turning good, or the super saiyan god ritual but with different saiyans, majin buu in a bulter tux. Broly as a currier, heck all the Z fighters going kaio ken in what if goku turned evil.
Alternatively, he could host a website or something. But some of those images would be great on T-shirts or something. Particularly the Raditz ones since they'd tie into R&R.
What if Goten was a girl? I'm not a shipper but I SERIOUSLY think that Goku's second child should have been a girl, so she becomes an item with Trunks and the bloodlines of Vegeta and Goku intersect, neatly tying a bow on their entire rivalry through both the Majinn Buu Saga and the entire series.

Idea for the new year: Since the DBZ Super Manga hinted Master Roshi's movements were similar to 'Ultra Instinct' (If by the very vaguest coincidence), what if Goku had learned THAT (Or at least Roshi's apparent version) from Roshi during Dragonball? Would he have needed to use the KaioKen with Vegeta? Would he not have had to go Super Saiyan so early with Frieza? Just some food for thought ^^

Its that power on top of the power of a imperfect cell that got stronger by training over time. Seems legit to me. Especially as Super Buu never had any of the fights that Fat Buu had. Fat Buu was going to lose to SSJ3 Goku if he hadn't spent all of his power and Super Buu struggled against SSJ3 Gotenks whom doesn't at all seem too much stronger than that version of Goku.

In fact Supreme Kai directly asks him if Gotenks is stronger and he does not say yes, only saying that they'd reached SSJ3 which was something that had taken him his whole life to accomplish. So even if Gotenks is stronger than him, it seems really unlikely that SSJ Gotenks matches SSJ3 Goku whom would have beat Fat Buu and actually was doing pretty well against Kid Buu.

Perfect 21: Roasts Buu the whole time
What if Broly Was sent to Earth instead or with Kakarot?
It would be quite interesting mainly because of the difference in Broly and Goku's power at the beginning. He would have become more spiritual compared to Goku.
First of all, I would explain that by lack of training I didn't mean the total absence of it, only that which "instantly" raises the power level so he would still be learning martial art, Ki control, and other techniques, .
I imagine it like this:
Paragus and doctors after the birth of Broly notice that he is different and put him in isolation. The rest looks similar to the original story, but this time Paragus manages to send his son to Earth and so he replaces Goku (including his name) and he is raised by Grandpa Gohan but during the first transformation his tail was cut off.
Because Broly was naturally strong at some point once he wanted to show of energy ball to Grandpa Gohan he did but lost control and accidentally killed him. Traumatized by this event he decided to stop training (become more peaceful etc) and focus on meditation and controlling emotions.
The rest of the story looks the same (Bulma finds Broly (Goku), they go on adventure together, etc.) with the difference that Broly is much stronger than her opponents, and the Red Ribbon Army's robots are stronger than the original (maybe by one zero?) and less death among comrades and enemies, maybe only King Piccolo was killed (Pure evil and stuff), and characters like Raditz and Nappa (Yes, he would save Nappa from Vegeta) could join him because they would believed that he is a mythical Legendary Super Saiyan and that he may change the fate of Saiyans race.
In "Vegeta Saga" Broly (Goku) as an adult would have a power level a weaker to Vegeta's great ape form (still without training) and only after Vegeta escape, Broly would realize that there are beings stronger than him, which would motivate him to back to training.
Namek Saga: Very Similar
Frieza Saga: Also very similar but instead of Super Saiyan transformation we see Legendary Super Saiyan transformation. Then Broly literally destroys Frieza in his final form and at the same time unintentionally destroying Namek. Affected by this he decided not to use this form ever again.
Trunks Saga: Same, but this time Brolly believes Trunks and takes the medicine right away.
Androids Saga: Also similar, only with the difference that to 16, 17 and 18 is added new Android (let's call him Dr. Gero Jr.). Who turns out to be Kakarot. In the flashbacks we learn that Kakarot capsule got into the Red Ribbon Army training ground, by what Dr. Gero decides to raise him as his own son and successor, but noticing the lack of intelligence, he decides to improve him cybernetically, increasing his intelligence (thus earning him a Ph.D.), strength, ki, etc. and thanks to the study of Saiyan biology Dr. Gero could better improve his machines. In addition, it allowed 17 and 18 to achieve the Super Saiyan form. Forcing Broly to achieve a weaker form of the Legendary Super Saiyan (Super Saiyan God Video).
Cell Saga: Cell after absorption 17 and 18, and Kakarot he has attained the Ultimate (Ultimate Cell) form which was more human (no wings and "crown"). and just like DBZ Broly (Goku) dies and Gohan gets SS2 and kills Cell.
Only in the Buu Saga Broly would again activate the true form of the Legendary Super Saiyan (as SS3 replacement), but now he can fully controlling this form. In general because Broly would be so strong he would have to constantly control his emotions and himself by rarely staying at home, showing emotions and pushing back people, in addition he would trained alone because he would be afraid to kill someone, so Piccolo would train Gohan and help him achieved SS1 form. But still he would be very positive eg by urging Yamcha to Ultra Divine Wate that could kill him because he believed that Yamcha is worthy. Gohan would be naturally stronger in this version, and Piccolo could be bigger father figure then in original. :)

Wouldn't Cell be able to eventually transform into his perfect form without absorbing 17 and 18? After Cell spat out 18 he went back to Semi Perfect Form but after getting a Zenkai Boost he was strong enough to be in his perfect form without the need for 18
But that only worked because his cells had already tasted perfection and remembered it. Like how the Sayian cells can remember a Transformation and Make it easier available over Time.
This is a very stupid plot point. He needs 17 and 18. He shouldn't just magically become perfect by just having a bigger number.

IIRC, it's because his cells remembered his perfect form and stored the information regarding it.
So he has to absorbe them once, spit them out, blow himself up and THAN he can be Perfect without them....he dosnet even need thos two specificly. He needs there Infinite Energie Generators. So technecly Bulma just needs to reverse Engeneer them.
Im wondering if Cell waits until for them to fuse again. Then absorbs him allowing him to tap into a more perfect state. Put like this the infinite engines side by side are powerful. If the engines are combined with magical force of fusion new energy is produced. Maybe that it would alter cells color to a deep blood red. The change in color would signify a new cell. Not only that Dabura essence would further embedded. His voice is still there but a force no matter what cant be removed. Being an android Gohan and Buu arent aware this has taken place. Since cell still has good nature and is cocky he wants to face the winner. Then as Gohan looks over Buu tries to absorb Gohan. Becoming his ultimate state. Buu then tries to fight Crimson cell. Yet cell has his perfect intelligence. Not using power but speed and martial arts. Buu is confused clearly he is much stronger than cell. Yet cell uses martial arts and his superior speeds. Zipping throughout the field then even uses some of Dabura skills. The stone spit proves effective. Buu has to cut off his arm to keep himself alive. Buu cant understand this. Cell goes and says he has perfect intellect and a sinister mind. Even if your power far outpower him you lack skill and mobility. After seeing absorb gotenks he isnt going to give him the chance. Remember with Piccolo Buu wont have that intellegence. Just to summarize i think the emphasis should put on Dabura's schemes. Infinite stamina and cells high speed. Showing a playback like trunks that power isnt everything.
A battle that's not won through screaming but tactics. Sign me up for that

Forget the "canon" crap, DB Heroes has the opportunity in giving us Super 18. Existence is what matters when it comes to the OFFICIAL Dragon Ball FRANCHISE. Super 17 & Super 13 are a thing iin the FRANCHISE so anything that is an OFFICIAL property is canon by default. Seriously someday DB Heroes will deliver Super 18, I really hope so.

One of my thoughts is Cell in the Resurrection F movie. Especially if he is okay drinking people, even if there is a limiter like "only bad people'. Roshi mentions that everyone needs to take out about 170 of Frieza's minions. Each. Yes with Cell there that number should be lower but lets keep that number for more. Assuming each member of the Frieza force is relatively weak, say 10k, if Cell drinks the minions he is tasked with, his power level would jump over a million in that one fight.
"If Frieza's tail gets cut off, I call dibs on eating it."
Continuing that thought, Gohan, Krillin and the others only knocked their opponents out.... meaning they are still alive and, relatively, well. Frieza clearly doesn't want them and we can't have them interfering later.... so Cell doesn't eat his 150ish that number could easily be twice to 3 times that. Cell gets a buffet!

Nooo, don't have 21 absorb the two of them! Have them fuse first, then 21 absorbs them, their power would be boosted as a fusion, and because it is still technically both 17 and 18 I think it would give 21 an even larger boost, if not a completely new, original, form, distinct from Perfect Cell. This is a what if after all, let's give our cuddley 21 a new form that is all his own.
It would be a form to overpower Buu, but ultimately would fail due to dabura's meddling

@@ojpickle5923 yeah, they tried to re-fuse after buutenks beat the fusion out of then, but masako also said that gohan showed up all mystic to fight Buu, giving the Android's a chance to retreat and stratagise. ATM they are safely away and have agreed to let 21 absorb them, they would have plenty of time now to fuse again and then let 21 absorb them.
Would result in a major increase in power, surpassing that of the original Perfect Cell post zenkai boost, and a moment that could truely define this new Cell as his own creature, rather than just the old cell with a new personality.
If there is one thing some of Masako's what ifs could do better, at least the ones involving former villians turning good, is that they seem to follow, largely, the Radits became good template, Nappa's story is the only one that I feel never really suffered from this, as he definitely has been more developed as a character, and gaining the berserker form sets him apart from Radits turning good, but also kind of makes him similar to Broly being good.
My point, in short, is that rather than largely just developing these character's personalities and making them deeper as individual characters, they should be allowed to grow beyond that, gaining traits and abilities all their own, and 21 would be the ideal candidate to get this treatment.

@@captain_dsz6049 that's what I think too, or at least the fusion form wouldn't work for very long, I can imagine that dabura's influence would deffinately have some sort of effect, I don't think it would be quite to the extent that it turns him completely evil, but rather would be more akin to driving him insane, as the two, or more, grapple for control. Remember, he would have absorbed 17 and 18, and while it's not the same as drinking them, they could be aware as well, considering they would be willing to do so. There are a lot of directions this story could take from here on out.

Wouldn't the 17/18 fusion _not wear off_? They have those infinite energy reserves; how would Buu knock it out of them?
Gotenks has been shown to defuse from taking a lot of damage and apparently has been able to defuse at will. Assumedly 17.5 could do the same.
No the fusion dance has a limit of 30 minutes, if too much energy is being exerted then the time limit shortens or if they sustain a significant amount of damage. Hope this helps
Perfect 21 with Dabura power? Oh yes. But. Will 17 and 18 remain in his head like Dabura? Will 21 tell them about that so they can maybe try? Will 17 and 18 fuse before being absorbed for the fastest and greatest effect? Oh, my, find out next time on WHAT IF!

I like the dynamic of the androids in this part. It's intriguing and brings an idea. When 18 and 17 are absorbed will they become like debora? That sounds like an interesting idea.

Could come in several different volumes based on specific what-ifs. A Raditz volume, a Nappa volume, a Bardock volume and so on. It'd be really cool to tie these all together as a piece of merchandise that he could sell.
I wouldn't mind just having a place to see the changes not really shown off like the bulkier Cell from Nappa turning good, or the super saiyan god ritual but with different saiyans, majin buu in a bulter tux. Broly as a currier, heck all the Z fighters going kaio ken in what if goku turned evil.

I'm not a shipper but I SERIOUSLY think that Goku's second child should have been a girl, so she becomes an item with Trunks and the bloodlines of Vegeta and Goku intersect, neatly tying a bow on their entire rivalry through both the Majinn Buu Saga and the entire series.

Idea for the new year: Since the DBZ Super Manga hinted Master Roshi's movements were similar to 'Ultra Instinct' (If by the very vaguest coincidence), what if Goku had learned THAT (Or at least Roshi's apparent version) from Roshi during Dragonball? Would he have needed to use the KaioKen with Vegeta? Would he not have had to go Super Saiyan so early with Frieza? Just some food for thought ^^

This what if is basically over exaggerating the power of Dabura he was about the power of perfect cell and Dabura got recked by fat buu so he would be screwed
Its that power on top of the power of a imperfect cell that got stronger by training over time. Seems legit to me. Especially as Super Buu never had any of the fights that Fat Buu had. Fat Buu was going to lose to SSJ3 Goku if he hadn't spent all of his power and Super Buu struggled against SSJ3 Gotenks whom doesn't at all seem too much stronger than that version of Goku.
It all adds up

In fact Supreme Kai directly asks him if Gotenks is stronger and he does not say yes, only saying that they'd reached SSJ3 which was something that had taken him his whole life to accomplish. So even if Gotenks is stronger than him, it seems really unlikely that SSJ Gotenks matches SSJ3 Goku whom would have beat Fat Buu and actually was doing pretty well against Kid Buu.
