If only these young people knew, as we do as adults, that those boyfriends/girlfriends that we obsess over & think we'll never get over, do eventually get replaced & we move on. So sad the amount of teenagers that throw away their lives over this. He seemed to be a very talented artist too, what a waste of two young lives.

I can't even watch this.... I worked for a printing company and I remember the family of Christian coming in every night to print missing posters. My heart went out to them.. left feeling helpless just wishing you could do something... so all I could do was cover the cost of their prints and try to make them look as nice as possible. Small gesture... but had to at least try. I remember seeing the teams of people searching for Christian... and it just broke my heart every time. Especially when you know they are searching for his body. I felt this way as a total stranger.. I couldn't imagine how his parents must have felt. Heartbreaking to think your baby goes off to college to better themselves.. and this is how it all ends up. FOR NO REASON.
I pray his family found peace.

It just makes no sense to me how a person can rationalize that it's better for the person they can't have to be dead and never seen again. A more selfless love would be to understand that even if your feelings for the person are not reciprocated, you have your own life to live and experience. You have to keep positivity in your life not spread negativity and the better thing to do would've been to wish the person happiness even if their happiness is not with you.

I've seen this comment on other true crime shows where the murderer buys ridiculous combinations of items that just scream 'I am up to no good'. Even if it were after the fact, having that information would help the police. Like majority of places have CCTV so if cashiers were just trained to make a note of the date and time when the suspicious purchase happened, and the clip could be passed to police easily, it wouldn't be that much extra work...

We are calling into question the purchase of the items all together and the alarm bells that should have set off. We need to start teaching teens that obsessive behaviour is not okay, and provide them with support and resources to tackle obsessive behaviour. At first I was going to be mad at Erica's parents for not dealing with Pedro's behaviour while they were in high school, but teens don't always share private things, but if this sort of thing was discussed in school and kids had a counselor they could go to, it could've been dealt with years ago. We romanticise the idea of the obsessed lover, and in particular share this myth of girls playing hard to get and that boys just need to be tenacious and not give up, and that needs to stop. Such a sad case, Christian sounded like he was an amazing young man.

Pedro was clearly unhinged and Erica doesn’t have to suffer for that. Just because Chris was a friend shouldn’t make him off limits if he’s a nice guy and they have a genuine connection. Imagine making a mistake by dating someone who wasn’t suited for you but then now having to walk around eggshells and deprive yourself of a real connection. Pedro would have killed anyone else that she got with if he was willing to kill his own friend.

@@araghne it seems that you have misunderstood my comment. No one is blaming Erica, but (most likely) herself. She might consider herself as the catalyst of the event hence the self blame. It's a common psychological response on her part. Something like "if only I hadn't gotten together with Christian, he wouldn't be targeted and would still be alive by now" kind of thinking which we know is wrong but it's not an easy notion to let go when you' re directly involved. A lot of therapy is needed. Of course we know that the murderer is to blame as he did the act fully knowing.

I’ve seen some disgusting and ignorant comments on this video. My heart breaks for Erica. She wasn’t happy with Pedro who as we all know is a total psycho. She did the right thing and ultimately ended the relationship. She found love elsewhere. I mean.. I think most people have done that? And somehow.. it’s her fault Christian was killed? Everyone can sit there and say “well I’d never do that! I’d never do what she did!” Well who knows? You don’t choose who makes you happy and everyone has EVERY right to be happy. Pedro also chose to follow them both to a different college than he originally was going to attend. He made those choices. A normal reaction to betrayal would be to end the relationship. Turned out the guy was a prison escapee on triple murder out of Jersey & the other girl had made a phone call which they thought she had ratted him lit so they beat her half to death & she was unconscious in the bathtub when police arrived. The guy ran & led police on a chase through the city before wrecking out & shooting killing himself before police could take him into custody. Criminals are stupid & sometimes shts just too obvious to overlook, you gotta say something if you suspect something. Id never forgive myself if i hadnt called knowing the outcome. I bet that cashier feels it.

I remember going into deep depression over a couple break ups thinking the pain will never go away. It was so painful at times I could feel it physically… but I began to work on my mental health , focused more on myself and what even made me who I was to begin with and then eventually realized those dudes weren’t merely worth one tear. I got over them and healed relentlessly… I wish healing on any and everyone who’s going through heartbreak.. it most definitely DOES get better and plenty more prettier, handsomer , kinder, more compatible fish in the sea

My issue is with the public reaction to the case, in some small pockets people seem to blame Christian, the VICTIM- because he was dating his friends ex. “What happened to the bro code?” Screw that! You have a right to date whoever the heck you please, now yes. I would question the authenticity of someone who I called a friend going behind my back to date my ex. But they had been broken up for a year. They are becoming adults and Pedro would have just had to get over it.
Christian does not deserve to be blamed for dating someone he liked, if you guys listened to her, Erika was unhappy in their relationship even dating back to highschool- she wasn’t going back to Pedro.

LESSONS I LEARNED FROM MY RELATIONSHIPS, FRIENDSHIPS & BREAK UP.
1) Never ever date your friend's or best friend's BF or GF, never ever. It will deeply hurt the other person especially when they're processing.
It'll be too hard when it's recent.
2) Concentrate in learning & brushing off your skills. It will be hard but it will take your mind off from hurting, pain & anger. Temporary but that'll be enough for a day.
3) Pray to God & Eat good food. They will ease up the pain a bit.
4) Go out, talk to your friends & family, watch a good comedy movie, do house hold chores.
5) PLAY. Be it video games, football, badminton, board games, etc. But do it.
Don't worry, you will eventually find someone. I broke up when I was 16 years old & after 6 years of it, I found a loving partner & I'm still dating him & it's been 5 years.
The only one I have an issue with is number one.
People have a right to date whoever they want, i do agree that if your “friend” dates your ex - i question if I would call them a friend. But the point remains the same, you have a right to date whoever you want publicly without fear of being MURDERED by her crazy ex!
Your feelings are going to be hurt after a breakup, but at the point of the murder it had been atleast a year since they split once they graduated. You should be over that.

I totally agree with no.1 as some people have no decency and doesn't care of other people's feelings especially a friend. I would stay away from my friend's ex as it will be too complicated, there at a lot of people to date and feelings often cloud our judgment not to care about our fellow human beings. All 3 have selfish motives but the murderer was the worst.
I get when a person is upset over circumstances like this but it gives nobody a right to murder someone. If I had to write down every suspicious transaction, i’d be writing down a person an hour, and for 99% of people getting paid minimum wage, it’s just not worth the extra effort. the cashier was not an idiot, and maybe he/she did actually raise concern, it just never got anywhere.
