A neighbor heard blood curdling screams for 15 minutes and did absolutely nothing. If she had called the cops in minute 1, there’s a high likelihood that police would’ve been there by minute 15. This neighbor has blood on her hands wether she admits it or not.
The police are there to investigate. Looking into a possible ongoing murder attempt is pretty high up on the list of things a police officer is paid to do. I'd rather they "waste their time" looking into those situations than just sitting on the side of the road waiting to pull someone over for speeding. If you have doubts as to whether it's real screaming or not, why rush someone's life over your own possible embarrassment?
This is not the first true crime channel that has covered this case, however, you put a different spin on the story which provided a lot of context and I walked away learning even more than I had before. Thank you for telling this story in such a thoughtful and detailed manner.

Depending on where live and the community of those that live there. People will call it in for you but will not try to take any action. Look what they tried to do to that ex marine on the subway who with 2 other guys. Had to subdue the individual who was irate and started being violent toward others. People not even there we're trying to insert themselves into a situation they knew nothing about and he had to defend himself as they tried their usual narrative BS through media. Charges were dropped. And plenty of cases where a guy tried to get involved and gets themselves killed. Times change. People change. In wake of the pandemic, criminal predators are running rampant all around. Stay vigilant.

A woman's sreaming "like she was being attacked" for 15 mins does not warrant an emergency call by any neighbours... doesn't seem like a "quiet safe neighbourhood" to me 😢
I, too, find it appalling that the neighbor heard screaming that sounded like "a woman being attacked" for 15 MINUTES and didn't feel the need to call it in. This shows how disconnected from each other we have become as a society in the US. It's disgusting. As always, your research, story-telling, compassion and production quality is among the best I've seen, not only here on RUclips, but also amongst all platforms, including "professional" high dollar networks/channels. Thank you for all your hard work and your amazing compassion for the victims and their families. 💜
Thank you. A tragic story told so well. The narrative is so good on all the cases on this channel. So many monsters live among us. They are hard to detect, because they look like normal human beings. RIP Gretchen, may the Angels give you wings to fly.
The thing that got me the most (other than that neighbor not calling the police when she heard screams and told the investigators about it later like it was hot gossip😡) was when the killer was reading his statement in court. If you aren’t listening too closely it almost sounds genuine and he’s crying out of remorse and is taking responsibility for the pain he caused. But really he was only talking about how this affected HIM, how HIS family is ruined, how he hurt the people who loved HIM, and how Gretchen, her daughter, and Gretchen’s family loved HIM. He doesn’t feel remorse that he killed such a wonderful person, he feels bad that this wonderful person is no longer in his life to benefit him and love him, never mind that he himself is the cause of that. He’s a narcissistic person and that is what made him so dangerous.
It blows me away that the neighbor heard screams that sounded like a woman being attacked...AND DIDN'T CALL THE POLICE! Insane. TC rocks! BEST coverage of this case. Also, grateful that you let us know Kobe is safe and has been adopted. RIP, Gretchen. 💔
I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks Gretchen has THE WORST neighbours in the world. They didn't only hear her screaming, they could hear what she was screaming, they could hear she was being hurt and just did nothing. My house might not be as nice as the ones in that neighbourhood but at least I can guarantee that my neighbours would call the police for me. I hope Gretchen's daughter will be ok. Poor little girl.
his reaction to the police officer saying he’s being arrested for homicide is so crazy. that’s not how you react to someone telling you you’re being arrested for homicide, especially if you haven’t done it
There’s a difference between dealing with your medical/psychiatric problems on your own terms and flat out not getting them treated at all. Bipolar disorder doesn’t make people kill but the erratic behavior and mood causes a lot of other pillars of one’s life to fall down, such that a person can back themselves into a corner. When you don’t take care of your own trauma and shit, you spread and inflict it on others.
This happened in Florida. The state where a child, Trayvon Martin, was murdered and the jury let his murderer go free. A state that hates the United States and most of the citizens of the US(women, gay people, children etc.) It does not surprise me that a neighbor would do nothing when ear witnessing danger in this awful state.

What about all the other neighbors? They certainly heard her cries, as well, but the neighbor in the video is the only one who came forward to the police when Gretchen was missing.

She heard screams for 15 MINUTES but still did not phone the police? With neighbours like that who needs enemies? How did he get by in life without receiving aid for his mental health issues? Did he have mental health issues or was he putting it on? He was the husband from hell. Poor Gretchen and his sickening speech at the end did not wash with me. Everyone else has pretty much said this but imma say it too; all those neighbors who heard Gretchen’s screams and did absolutely nothing, they should all be ashamed! It is so incredibly scary and sad that she was screaming for her life and nobody did a damn thing. 💔
I hope Gretchen is resting peacefully, and that her daughter has peace and as much closure as she can get.
What I was going to say about the neighbor. It was serious she said, but didn't even call for a wellness check on her. She possibly could have saved her life! Thanks a lot "concerned" neighbor!!!
Of course the first comment I see is blaming bystanders instead of the actual murderer.
@@cocogoat1111 It's not about blaming. It's saying everyone would appreciate our neighbors not ignoring the sound of another neighbor who is screaming out like they are being murdered.

@@SpanishArmadaProd Again, coyote in a sparsely tree or woodland community, mainly townhome looking building, inside a garage?

Thank you for what you do. It is appreciated.
So often these stories involve a witness hearing horrific screams. I always wonder how one can hear such a desperate scream for help and simply ignore it. Wouldn't you call the police or investigate? It's mind boggling.
Exactly yet if it was a dog yelping, the whole neighbourhood would have gone to rescue it!
That was my first thought too! The neighbor that came running over-where was the urgency that night?!?
The audacity for him to act like he doesn't know who he's being accused of commiting homicide for😒🙄🤬 and to try to blame a 12 yr old for taping your tag?! What a murderous POS 💩 !😭🤬
RIP Gretchen 😢. God bless her and her family. Amen
These videos are incredibly well compiled and presented. I’ve watched through pretty much you’re whole backlog now and I have to say, work has become a lot duller without truly criminal videos in the background! Keep up the amazing work
Dude getting down on one knee to break up with someone has to be the wildest thing ive heard in a long time.
I actually chuckled at that 😂 that's so random
That dude was still acting like HE was a victim while reading the statement in court. What a bastard.
Thank you for letting us know about the dog 💕 I always worry when there’s animals involved
Thank you. A tragic story told so well. The narrative is so good on all the cases on this channel. So many monsters live among us. They are hard to detect, because they look like normal human beings. RIP Gretchen, may the Angels give you wings to fly.
Often times I hear arguments or dispute and don't want to get involved but this teaches me a lesson.

Welcome back, lady! Love your channel! Can't wait for the next one!

I can't understand how they go from loving someone to hating them to the point they kill them!! Madness!
Because it's not really love, it's masked narcissism. Being in a relationship for your own selfish needs. Then, when that ends you snap because you are no longer in control, have no more attention on yourself, and your ego is bruised. It's not love. It's manipulation.
