I seen in your videos that your running street tires.. Are you running stock 28 spline axles or did the rearend get upgraded to something else? I'm in the process of putting in 8.8 into my 82 Regal.. Just wondering if I should put in 31 spline now or leave my 28 spline axles from a GT. Mine runs 12.23 et with Mickey et radials 3.73 gear. Going 4.56 this time
It has the bone stock 28 spline axles, ran mid 11s with an automatic, I do run the car now with slicks but I'm not launching it hard, and I'm pretty easy on the driveline with my driving, the manual trans is brutal compared to an auto. Sometimes I really shift it hard but the trans ratios are close so it's not that bad, I'm not applying alot of tork and the tork I do apply to the axles on the shift are for a split second sonits not bad. If I had a wide ratio trans it would be more dangerous. I am actually scared shitless of the stock axles, I'm gonna try and get a better set of 28 splines before racing it again in the summer.
