Change the Microsoft Access Application Title & Icon on Windows Taskbar, Desktop, Forms, & Reports

- In this video, I'll show you how to change the application title and icon for your Microsoft Access databases. We'll set that icon for the forms and reports in our database, too. We'll also see how to create a desktop shortcut and change the icon for that. And as a bonus, I'll show you how to put icons on buttons in your menu forms.
Livia from Augusta, Maine (a Platinum Member) asks: Is there any way I can change the icon for my database on the taskbar? I don't mind people knowing it's Microsoft Access, but I'd like to replace that Access logo with something else, and maybe change the title so it doesn't say "Microsoft Access." Thanks.
Silver Members and up get access to an Extended Cut of this video. Members will learn how to set individual unique icons for any form or report in the database. This will involve a little VBA programming, but will allow you to customize your icons any way you want.

Hi! Thx v much for this video. Great help. But since this is a database and eventually it has to be released to different desktop in different locations and in my mind i keep wondering how that's going to happen about everything I learn nowadays including this one!
Good point
Hello Sir. Thank you for that great demonstration, unfortunately I have that for several time it times and it has never worked my windows Ms16.could be the problem?
You mean Access 2016? Nope. This should work for every version from at least 2007 up.

I love this video! My stuff looks so much more professional now. I've tried the splash screen on my laptops at home and work. It works fine at work, but not at home. Both run Microsoft 365 and my home account is fully updated. Both have .bmp files with the same name as and in the same folder with the associated database. The icon instructions work fine on both. Any hits to what might be going on?
For some reason time cured most of the home databases splash screens. One very old database I realized was still in Office 2003, I did a save as to the current version. However even though the .bmp file and the new version are both named Media the splash screen still doesn't display, even after a reboot. Is there perhaps a max size of .bmp file, either in pixels or mb?
I'm sure there is but I don't know what it is offhand.
I get a ton of questions every day, and I don't have time to answer them all here on RUclips. Feel free to submit your question on my website at: 599cd.com/AskYT
Hi..thank you for this video, however is it possible to change the title text beside the Icon on the menu page. The text that says "techhelp free template v.1...."
It sure is. :)
Is there a way to store this icon in the database itself for deployment to environments that do not have access to the icon location?
Yep. That will be coming up in one of my developer courses. You can save it in an Attachment field, extract it, and then reset the icon in VBA.
this icon change setting does not work on my access database. I am using access 2016
It should. That's been around forever.
Same here, I'm using ms access 2013
Same here, using access 2013
