Building a Searchable Document Index in Microsoft Access (Word Docs, PDF Files, Text Files, etc.)

- In this Microsoft Access tutorial, I'm going to teach you how to build a document index in Microsoft Access. We will store the names of our files in a table, along with a link to each file. We will then copy the text of that file to Access so that we can search the full contents of each document from inside our database. I'll also show you how to make a button to open each file using the FollowHyperlink command. Then, I'll show you how to make a simple form to search for keywords in the text of each document.

I have a question: can I search by file name instead of doc, txt or pdf extension file?

Sure... you can search by whatever you save in the table.
So I just wrote my code AS explained in the video and then when I checked the button I get an error message. So let me get this straight, on my home screen, I have an access icon for my database and a seperate folder for the documents. Does that sound correct? Or do both of those need to be in a different folder? Just not sure where I'm getting an error

Hello! I'm writing from Turkey. this is perfect. this is what i need. an alarm program. but the alarm should work when an action occurs on my computer's internet explorer page. can i do this? When I am not at my computer, when an action occurs on the internet explorer page that is always open on my computer screen, I need to be warned audibly.
You could program the WebBrowser control to look for specific keywords and refresh the page every X minutes. I cover something similar in 599cd.com/ACX24
how would you make a button the same way however documents are separated into folders within the project folder?
