What a wonderful opportunity you have brought us Ron Evans. A journey that we would not otherwise be able to make. I have often wondered what it would be like to travel on this line.. Most enjoyable.
Nice footage of the line, I was a signaller at N&B from 2003 to 2014, the signalman in this clip was Gavin Lawrence who was heard to caution the train for the phones out of order at Brynteg crossing. Not long after this clip he left the railway to join the forces.
+Redstone Ready//I0an That maybe true, the mine is being mothballed soon with the loss of 75 jobs, the Washery is staying open for the time being but I also can't see it lasting.
Quite a lonely job, being a signalman there, thinking that in an eight hour shift he would pass through a maximum of four trains, two each way? Amazing scenery, right in the middle of nowhere, although plenty of footprints on the track in places. Are the trains carrying coal?
great video-I kept pausing it at seven sisters-just moved from there back to cornwall, and miss all the trees and the mountains;when we loaded last van through the night, the owls were calling-pulled at my heart strings
an absolutely beautiful little winter scenic " ONE - ie " ( ONE track ) ride...love the ONE - ie rides..they have such a feeling of remoteness & isolation about them...much more atmospheric etc..than the Rigged / wired 4 or 6 track rail Motorways..!!! :).
Enjoyed this. Having just watched your Margam - Carmarthen ride it strikes me that - in terms of driver's comfort, at least - the Class 60 is very much superior. Obviously the valley route (with a loaded train) is a slog for any loco, but the amount of vibration and noise in the cab of the Class 66 did surprise me. Is it as bad as the video suggests?
Thank you so much , Being disabled and not able to leave my house no more it is great to go out via you videos thanks again :-)
pro tip: you can watch series at Flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching all kinds of movies recently.

Another very good video. Great snowy scenery.

+Ben Conway hi Ben, Gav went to join the army, I think he went in to learn a trade.

Superb video it would be a dream of mine to be in the cab. Very good vid ray
The coal mine lifts to right side of the track at 15:00. It’s been a long time since I’ve lived near the Valleys and I’ve seen one of those!
Cefn Coed colliery
Awesome would love to travel that line Thanks again
Amazing footage
No trace now of the stations at Cilfrew, Crynant, Seven Sisters and Onllwyn. The old Neath & Brecon Rly.
It's such a shame we can no longer carry on to Brecon.
Cracking footage Ray. The shaking wasn't that bad! Thanks for uploading.
great scenery
Surprised those points went over with no points heating and nit being used that often 😊
Nice footage
