An Astron is a great addition to any collection, especially if you’re a Seiko fan.
Especially if you like accurate timekeeping unlike mechanical ones!
I got the limited edition purple 2022 edition and it’s my holy grail in my collection. I never get tired of wearing it and it’s super reliable. Such a good watch and the new green version is gorgeous as well. Thanks for sharing
I presume you mean the SSH123, I bought one of these beginning of this year and very happy with it. Mine is number 444/1.500.
@@ludosys4903Yup that’s the one I got! Its my grail in my collection. I think for the price it’s so worth it. If I had the money I’d buy the same watch again the ssh127 that’s how good it is. I wish there was a rubber strap option for this model can’t find anything other than the bracelet it comes with
I have ssh123 # 722 / 1500. The ssh127 only has 1200 and I thought the purple with its constallation background looks cooler,however wondering if the green is better looking after all? I am pretty happy I managed to score an ssh123 though as they are harder to find now and I really wanted one for ages.

@@robwurns3932 I still like like ssh123 better the dial is way more flashy and just b/c there’s less copies of the green one doesn’t make it better imo or would make me want to pick one over the other. I’d love to have that green one too but the dial is mostly solid where like you said on the purple dial it is sparkly and more reminiscent of space. Both are still very cool just comes down to preference. But congrats on the ssh123 it’s a true beauty!

Seiko Astron 5x are the best GPS watch on earth for now. It's corrects automatically Summer time/Standard time. Cizizen Satellite Waves need set the wintertime/summer time manual!. Thanks for you nice reviews. Seiko Astron are zo beautiful and functional watches with GPS precision.
Seiko has a way with their black models when designing the blue/black dials to go in them that other manufacturers just can't match.

The Astron is on my list of watches. It is just beautiful. I like the two hand Second Time zone sub dial. (Thats a mouth full) lol. Expensive though.
No micro adjust but it should be a quick adjust right? Great video, love the Astron series, almost Grand Seiko quality for less $. My personal favorit is the more traditional design SSH003
Rob, I think you miss something...there is no micro adjust BUT there is on the fly adjustment system. I had this watch for sometime now.
I was thinking of adding a Seiko Astron to my collection. However, I am bewildered by the number of Astron available. Why so many? Some look so diversely different, I wonder why they didn’t treat them to a name other than Astron. Does anyone know if there are any with glaring faults or irritations compared to the other models? I guess my problem is that Seiko have provided so many stunning models of the same watch. I’ve never seen such a range of appealing dials from one watchmaker.

Always had my eye on an Astron, but every time I had the cash I bought something else. Not sure if that’s some kind of message or I need to be more disciplined 😂
What are your thoughts about the 39mm ASTRON Seiko SSJ005 and SSJ003 ??
If you put the two lights on a surge protector you can turn them both off with one switch.
The this with is astron is the GS tentagraph which I bought one choosing rather than rolex sea-dweller.
After a week of just wearing the GS ten, it gave me same emotions as my seiko astron. Being a geek watch didnt gave me any reward 😢

in certain lights both, Usually it's green. it various in light conditions etc. thats been my expirience anyhow

@@Philipp31415 it is, just be carefull. The clasp if you use ut while typing on keyboards and such u might get some hairline scratches.

Please help, I am about to sell my Astron because I simply cannot understand how the watch does it’s daily time adjustment automatically. I feel stupid walking around outside under the open sky waiting for it to happen. I have read the instructions. I’m tired of holding the button down to make it happen.
It likely does it automatically at night. That is how my Oceanus ocw-t3000 works. What Astron do you have?
Since I posted that question, I learned how to do a full reset on the watch. It did the trick, now whenever it's first exposed to bright light even indoors it connects to satellites and sinks the correct time. Thank you though!
Looks like Seiko was jealous of the Casio MRG-G1000B.

Agree, once you know “the tric” with the pin and the minuscule collar it is easy. I had to search on YT to help me out.
