In the heart of the Rangoon stands an unmissable monument: the Shwedagon Pagoda.
Legend has it that this giant golden stupa houses eight strands of Buddha's hair, making it unique and sacred.

It should be noted that you are required to take your shoes and socks off before going on the temple grounds. You are required to walk the grounds of the temple in your bare feet.
