Amazing temples.Ancient Burmese have done a lot for Buddhism.All buddhist in the world must respect them.I hope to visit this great country oneday.Burmese are simple humble and very good.As Sri Lankan Buddhists we like them so much.
It true too which I have experienced in 28days...Generally people are so helpful, trustworthy not misusing tourists to sell their goods.....also main thing was nothing lost while i have visited in 200 more temples/stupas I have visited with specially my expensive trekking shoes left at the entrance of each temple unattended.. people are so genuine.. Not experienced any pick pocketeers, bag snatchers, neckless grabbers, while on walk or in crowded markets or public transport...genuinely buddhists people there... Sadly the whole country is ruined by brainless uneducated donkies of Junta brothers in the country..It's shame on them...
I'm from Myanmar and thanks for your amazing effort. We all miss these beautiful sceneries but we can't. Now, we're under the military dictatorship and many of our citizens were killed and until today. If someone saw this comment, please spread out our current conditions to your world. 😢🙏

We visited this beautiful country three times, because this is totally different to our culture. And on our first trip in 2003 there were two ballons only, the second time in 2006 there were 4 ballons, and on our up to now third trip in 2009 there were 8 ballons flying over the Bagan area. Hope that this country will find peace soon after more than 60 years of military dictaturship.
This video seems overrated because a number of beautiful kyaungs in Myanmar are not presented. If only this video presented one ancient Burmese kyaung (such as Bagaya or Shwe Nandaw) I wouldn't write this, but no there's none, although the newly reconstructed Madalay palace may contain some empty kyaungs and associated buildings of the Shwe Dagon Pagoda have some worshipers. Simply pagodas and stupas are not representative to the monastic life that almost every Bamar has experienced at certain point of life. What's worse, the modern UFOs above Bagan don't collocate with ancient pagodas well. The overall presentation of this episode is a little bit disappointing.

Only 3 minutes into this film, I have to come and comment: it is amazing, in the original and true sense of the word. I watch, and the scale and number of these works is too much for words; too much to take in. What they built, and why, and how. I am mazed.
It all started by the king Anu Ruda around a millennium ago for the founding of the Sarsana( Buddhism), these temples were built both for the good deeds as well as the territorial landmarks he conquered, along with the ideal intention of spreading the noble religion. The practice kept on until late 17th century. That is the rough memory that I read.

You have an eye and a sensibility that should make every other cinematographer (pro, amateur, and especially Hollywood) green with envy. 2: You always marry the perfect soundtrack with your footage.
