  • Green juice juicing is one of the INSTANT healthiest things you can do. Sure it tastes nasty, but think of it as medicine, not a treat. Do you want to heal or don't you? Bitter is so much better for you than sweet. Stop the orange juice and try green juice for a few weeks and watch what happens! If you can't stand the taste, pdissolve a wild berry on your tongue beforehand www.markusberry.com for more info. Juicer health benefits start with greens stuff. That includes green apples instead of red apples.

BTW, like you I'm using a Nama J2 juicer, and it doesn't seem to like the wild stuff. Am currently waiting on a replacement hopper because it would stop turning and start vibrating. Seems that kale (1:42) and collard greens (2:02) are both the same species! Brassica oleracea. So how come one has oxalates and the other doesn't?

    • @MarkusRothkranz
      @MarkusRothkranz  6 месяцев назад

      While they both belong to the same plant family and species, collard greens and kale are different subspecies from each other. Yes Collard is part of the Acephala (kale) cultivar group, it is also classified as the variety B. oleracea var. viridis.
      Collard greens are classified as Viridis, while kale is classified as Acephala. Both are high in vitamins K, A, and C, though kale has more protein compared to collard greens. Leafy greens that are highest in oxalates include beet greens, purslane, rhubarb, spinach, chard, endive, and dandelion greens. In contrast, kale, turnip greens, and collard greens have relatively low levels of oxalates. For example, beet greens have 916 milligrams of oxalate per serving, whereas collard greens only have 74 milligrams/serving. Therefore, greens vary widely in their oxalate content.
      When you eat a plate of greens, the oxalates attach to the minerals in foods and block their absorption. The bound minerals are then eliminated from your body and you don’t get the benefits since they pass out of your body without the body processing them. Here is a video I did on oxalates ruclips.net/video/ZXrNH9urLEM/видео.html

    What kind of Juicer are you using? It seems to be gravity feed, self feeding. I have a GreenStar that requires some physical effort to make your juice. It's a workout.

    • @MarkusRothkranz

      We still blend every day. Juicing is just like an instant shot in the veins, no digestion involved- goes right into bloodstream.

    If a vegetable is extremely bitter, then it might actually be poisonous. (as in the case where people keep using seeds from successive generations of the same plant like zucchini). Don't force yourself to eat it.

      Likewise, poison hemlock is extremely sweet. That's why I wrote the edible plant guide so people can learn. Edibleplantguide.com
