    Wilson Pro Staff X V14
    I would recommend the Wilson Pro Staff X to players:
    - with an advanced level,
    - with a good technique, relaxed swings,
    - who are looking for a racquet with a good level of control, but not the most control oriented tennis racquet,-
    - who want to have good access to topspin without being extreme, a better access to topspin than with the other Pro Staff with a 97 head size,
    - who are looking for a relatively heavy racquet with a good balance in the handle, which allows to not feel too much the weight of the racquet and have a very good manoeuverability,
    - who like the Wilson Pro Staff but are looking for more forgiveness and access to topspin than those with a headsize of less than 100 in², like the Pro Staff 97 for instance.

    Excellent review. I have the exact same experiences. You have to hold your technique late in a match to stay competitive. I would suggest switching to the Babolat pure aero or try the Wilson shift for late in the match; especially if you feel weaker and need more spin out of ageing tennis balls.

    Love your reviews and very happy you're back doing some in English! Curious how you would compare this pro staff x to the blade 98 16x19?

  • @robalberts
    @robalberts Год назад +1

    Am getting a v similar control racquet without the weight. Solinco Whiteout 290, similar hoop and beam, layup tweaks, foam filled, just not as heavy and is 98. As u say "over the course of a match..."

    • @team-tennisenglish1514
      @team-tennisenglish1514  Год назад

      Yes it's different. I guess the access to top spin is a bit lower and the weight of the Pro Staff X gives it a solid feel. Solinco is surely much easier to swing.

    Great Review!! Im considering switching to this from extreme tour 360+, how do you think this compares to the extreme? I’m an intermediate player, I have one handed back hand and I generally hit top spin, do you think prostaff x will be a right racquet for me? (Weight is not an issue for me)

    I enjoyed this very thorough video review from you as always! I can't wait to test the X as I'm a long-time user of several of the old 6.1 95 models and more recently the PS 97 v11. Sadly, with age those have become too difficult for me. Would you mind sharing what is your current racquet that you still prefer over the PS X? Thank you very much.

      Currently I want to change my Prince Tour 100P. I try the Wilson Shift 300 and I'm very interested also in the Yonex VCore Pro 100. I want to get a Pro Staff X just for the pleasure of hitting a few balls sometimes with it 😀

    Have you ever tried the Iga racket (Tempo 298 Iga)? Seems to have a good mix of stability, maneuverability, control and power...

    • @team-tennisenglish1514
      @team-tennisenglish1514  Год назад +1

      Thank you ! Tour 100P a bit more powerful, access to top spin close, maybe a bit better with the X. Tour 100P easier to swing because lighter and also head light. Comfort close.

    thank you for the review; is that a carpet court? I didn't think they existed anymore...

    • @team-tennisenglish1514

      It's a kind of synthetic grass. Honestly not great, a bit unpredictable. Interesting for shock absoption. When I can I choose another court but only that one was available that day 🙂

    Please try the 97L. It is very fast yet has the power due to frame thickness..

    I tested, and did not like it. I had really high expectations. You can even compare that to my current vcore pro 100, which is a direct competitor.

    • @team-tennisenglish1514
      @team-tennisenglish1514  Год назад +1

      Maybe too high expectations 🙂 Indeed it's in the spirit of the VCore Pro 100, with more weight. I liked the VCore Pro 100 a lot. Easier to swing.
