Errani cruising into quaters without being 100% fit. 3rd consecutive semifinal appearence loaded. What a effort...
The most important thing in tennis is to make the other person play, and Errani does that very well.
No errors, and retrieves everything. It's very frustrating to play someone like that. Her serve is horrible but it seems to kick pretty high and without much pace it's hard to hit. At the start of this video her grunting is pretty quiet, but at the end it's really loud? How come?

i can't understand one thing...if you blame that errani screams and makes so loud noises, and that's why some among you can't stand her, why don't you say anything about azarenka or sharapova???...i would say especially the last one screams much louder than errani...respect for sara, another quarterfinal slam, congratulations!!!
The difference is that Maria & Vika shriek nonstop during an entire match irregardless of the score. Sara, however, was relatively quiet until things became tight late in the first set. It's the loudest I've ever heard her grunt and it could be viewed as gamesmanship. She played great otherwise and deserved the win.
I cannot stand Sharapova or azarenka screams either.
She screams but hits the ball so soft, al least sharapova and Azarenka hit hard

It sucks when you don't have a winning forehand. So many times Jankovic opened up the court with her crosscourt backhand but she needed to flatten out her forehand and hit crosscourt to win the point
Jankovic definitely needs to work on that forehand and her footwork around that forehand. Her forehand isn't bad, but it just doesn't have the precision or the fire power her backhand does. Even from this highlight alone, when she tried to hit big on the forehand she lost her footwork and instead of coming in she had to stay back in the base line. Also you can see how she tried to create that sharp angle with her forehand by following through over her head, but didn't generate enough angle to really have a threat on Errani.
She played a good match no doubt.. but my little problem is with the screaming. no point of it, no value, no added power whatsoever (like in Sharapova, Serena or Vika's case). she still loops the ball every time. its rather upsetting.
Screaming can help you with timing. That's probably her case. Even if it isn't, she has the right to. She's not shrieking like Sharapova
+Matteo Lee she has a right to yes, but that doesnt mean she ought to do it. its ugly and it doesnt help as many people mentioned. ITs just not necessary.

Sara is a small pack with a big punch. She has the ability and the belief she can beat the so called power players. I am a huge fan of Serena, but I believe if Errani has the right strategy she can beat her also. As for the screaming......get over it. Better yet, if it annoys you to that extent, you may not want to watch. Since we're not Sara we do not know whether making those sounds help her performance. Maria's shrieks were much more annoying, at least in my opinion, but she managed to tone it down. Hopefully, Errani will do the same. I like her style. Go Sara.........
Serena can beat Errain while closing her eyes still on clay. Erran cannot handle Serena's power.
Errani beating Serena😂😂. Even at 45, Serena would be able to beat her. As for annoying, Maria's screams are way more tolerable than Errani's.

The grotesque, guttural grunts emitted by Errani are more annoying than Vika's "ahhhooo's" & Maria's shrieking. I was pulling for Jelena to win - such a clean ball striker and SILENT! Oh well...

You are not crazy or ignorant, Optimist. Monica Seles opened the door to screaming on court. Actually she flung that door wide open now everyone is screaming their heads off. It's a cheap tactic to unnerve opponents.
attnMofo If the tour supervisors back in the early 90's knew what a controversial issue grunting/shrieking/yelping eventually would become, something would have been done to enforce the hindrance rule. At the '92 Wimbledon, Nathalie Tauziat was the first player to complain about Monica's noise level during their quarterfinal. Then, Navratilova did the same in the semis. I suspect the reason the girls today don't follow suit is it's become so common. Seles' grunting actually didn't annoy me because she did it during an entire match, at the same level irregardless of the score. What bothers me about Errani is she became much louder when things got tight.

I agree you. Seles was such a nice person and a great ambassador to the sport that I didn't mind. And her grunt was not really a scream....it was more like a hiccup sneeze. The Williams sisters and Sharapova however are gratuitous screamers. And this Errani chick is over the top.
