    She literally had the flu that turned into pneumonia. It is completely insane for her to go through this whole tournament and still win it. I remember the clips of her being on the sideline, coughing and crying with iced towels to her forehead, but she still pulled it off!!!

      It was breath taking. So many 3rd round matches from the 2010s were better than most slam finals in the 80s and 90s, yet people claim she played in a weak Era. Serena vs Watson 2015 Wimbledon, Venus vs Kvitova Wimbledon 2014, as well as Azarenka vs Kerber US open 2015 just to name a few were very high quality and full of drama.

    Funny enough I still think Serena at her old age can still be number 1 and be competing for these slams still but she’d need to play a lot more matches to avoid those random hiccups she started experiencing as she got older

      I think Serena at her age could still win some big events, but I don't think she could be #1. It would be awfully hard for any 42 year old, even the GOAT, to play week in-week out enough to get to #1.

      In Auckland 2021, beating a #76-ranked player in the final.
      Was no big event.

    I think the Errani match was the first that she felt sick during. She was so intense, and should have been very relaxed because Errani could never beat her. Lol

    only low seeded players in the last three stages - that was lucky draw for Serena but anyway she was struggling so much on this type of ground.
    Even Azarenka was unseeded at this time, more dangerous than last three ladies.

    The match against Friedsam is soo undarrated! Incredible mental strenght from Serena... reminds me the match against Watson at Wimbledon played 2 months after

    Serena's 2015 run literally sparked a resurggence in her career latter. Well it started in 2014 at the US open where she won and then she just dominated the 2015 calendar year. I wish you inserted her french open championship win press conference where she says how "she cant believe this is her life and she was just celebrating her 19th grand slam and then just achieved number 20 at the French..... Gosh I loved her 2015 run. It was literally a sight to see. This tournament was the definition of you had to be there!!!!!!!
