1:56 Absolutely correct! Haha I'm always happy with 1, 2 and 4....never 3 though. My male tabby Morgan loves to butter me up with affection before he goes in for the love bite. 😆
@michaeljohnson1576 I'm not a feline behavioural therapist, but based on my experiences with several (difficult too) cats and being rather intuitive with them (my mom jokingly calls me Cat Whisperer because every neighbourhood cat wants scritches from me and even the "Never touch him, he hates it" type cats have zero issue with me). Anyway, this actually sounds like he might be signalling he wants to play. Not doing this as a sign of affection. One of my boys did something very similar by rolling around on the floor in front of me, being absolutely adorable, then bunting my hand, purring loudly. When I went ahead to give affection back, he suddenly pounced by grabbing me with his paws or soft biting. I use the past tense because this was years ago. I've taught him quickly that biting - no matter how soft - isn't okay, nor do we play like this. And I now recognise the difference between "Look how cute I am! Wanna play?" and actual affection. Plus, I realised he has a lot more energy than the average cat (and for some reason, he doesn't like playing with his brother, but only wants me). A few things you could do to handle this/ get answers: - If you've ever used your hands or still do while playing with your cat: stop immediately. Use toys. A cat can accidentally hurt you because our skins are so much thinner, and their teeth are sharp AF. - Keep a few toys closer at hand, particularly at places where the 'love biting' occurs the most. When you see your boy act like you just described, see if he (juuust before said bite) responds to those toys every time by initiating play and diverting his attention. Yes? Then you have your answer; he's indicating play, probably needs more per day. He'll probably has another way to express love or will start to do so (as playing with your cat strengthens your bond). - When he doesn't respond to the toy (preferably a 🎣 rod type), or very rarely, then he thinks it's okay to profess his affection like this. You don't want that. The only way to teach him otherwise is to say "Ouch" and *immediately* turn your body and eyes away from him, ignoring him for a while. About 2 minutes usually suffices. Do this steadily and never ever cave. Allow signs of remorse if your cat has those (my eldest definitely knows how to say sorry), but he needs to know you're disappointed in him. If you keep this up, he'll eventually learn that he can cuddle up and bunt to his heart's extent, but never bite. I hope this helps!
lol I always have so much to say: there are 3 cats I've immediately known were mine because they all 3 met me by being placed in my lap and immediately settled down there and either let me groom their ears, pet them, or fall asleep. One of them I adopted after she'd come off the streets with an unknown history. she was obviously cared for by somebody before, but also cpearly has left over instincts from her time on the streets. When we brought her home, she explored, found a kitchen chair where she was under the table but could see all around herself, and promptly fell asleep stretched out on her side with her stomach exposed, with nearly fresh spay stitches still. That's how they all sleep around me. And I seem to have something that animals trust because even ones who don't like being picked up will tolerate me picking them up, maybe because I don't try to restrain them too much. My neighbor's high strung, nippy dog is one of those. And a very ill outside cat I'd never met. My baby I lost last year did not like to be held but she had such trouble getting around near the end that she'd ask to be carried. The trust they put in me always makes me tear up.
My male cat Rocky did everything from 1-8. Except talk to me or get picked up. But that's because he wasn't the most vocal, and he didn't like being picked up. Now ofc he would meow when he greeted me, but he still wasn't the most vocal
There's no problem to rub a cat's belly if they actually trust you, I can touch every part of the body I'd like of the cat I personally raised from the kittenhood. You need to incentivize the cat from the first months of their life.
My cat has been biting me. He will be just chilling with me and meow so I pet him and when I take my hand away he scratches an bite's me an will draw blood. But that's the only time he'll bite me.
My Tuxie Ace perks up when he hears my daughter come home from work. He meows and meows at her until she pets him. Ace spends most of his time in my daughter's room.

My cat Tiger-J curls up on my bed and cuddles at my feet. He slow blinks and bumps me with his head. He kneads me with his paws 🐾.

My cat loves belly rubs!! 💖
Mine do too!

My cat trusts me in her unique way. Mostly from the tips on this video for sure. She just doesn't want me rubbing her belly.
My cat does everything except meeting me when I get home 🤔But I guess it's fine cause I greet it anyway 😊
My Maki asks me to pick her up all the time I love her
My cats aren't super affectionate, but I know they are very comfortable around me and they trust me.
