heard it a thousand times, and will hear it another hundred thousand times. just amazing! such great musicians...thank you jim, michel and wayne for such great music!!!!
Two chords. Tonic-dominant all the way. Wayne and Michel solos are completely diatonic, then Jim adds just a little more of chromaticisms... An absolute MASTERPIECE I've listen to it a zillion times in maybe twenty years since the first time, and always ALWAYS touches and uplifts my soul. Thank you forever Jim Hall, Michel Petrucciani, Wayne Shorter
this is a truly inspiring piece of music performed by 3 amazing musicians. This would be on my desert island... I miss these guys. Michel was truly brilliant.
Perfect tune, everything's just perfect in it... You do not hear shorter playing "simple stuff" so often.... Michel's solo & Jim's deconstruction..... I really love the moment 8:20 when shorter join jim hall back for the Last head... Magic !
Togliti le scarpe, alza le braccia e balliamo. No, quale prato? Va bene anche il pavimento del salotto, purché ci sia luce. I colori ce li mettono loro...

Absolutely brilliant. Jim Hall plays the music inside the music. Wow. What a song.

By the way the intro by Jim Hall from the LP is missing here, what a pity
The musicality is wonderful. Michel is one of the most soulful players ever.
Fantastic musicianship from all three...Wayne Shorter is showing a very different side of his playing to what he was doing with Weather Report.
One of my favorite albums. Often overlooked by these three masters at their peak!
the track is from the CD The Power of Three recorded live in Montreaux July 1986.

Hearing this again today inspired me to write a Jim Hall biography. Now that this is in writing, I am committed.

Love it! A good guitar player is a one-man rhythm section. All play so lyrically. Shorter!
