Actually It was kinda the other way around. Roy Haynes played with Charlie Parker, Roy played on Chick Coreas Game Changing Now he Sings Now He Sobs. Anyway Roy was on the scene 10 yrs before Tony. Of course Tony played with the great 2nd Miles Davis Quintet.
Roy Hayes was the elder of that trio, despite that he's now the only one still alive (95yo!)
Still with us at 99. I'm going to miss his sorely needed creativity.
