hands down the 3DS family is one of the best budget hadnhelds today, homebrew opens a WHOLE world of possibilities
it's hard to name a handheld made in the last two decades that doesn't give better value than the 3ds does. You can get a switch for cheaper than any console in the 3ds lineup, and you can get a vita for around that price as well. The switch is a current gen console with very good homebrew capabilities, being able to emulate ps2, gamecube, wii, xbox, and so on. There's no comparison. Even the vita with its insane library of ports and emulators makes the 3ds that can barely run n64 games a very hard purchase to justify for double the price in some cases. Even the PSP, being a fraction of the price, gives better value as it can run all of the emulators the 3ds is capable of running, and while it obviously cant run 3ds games, the 3ds cant run psp games either.
@@kipory22I understand where you’re coming from, but in many cases you can pick up a 2ds for under 100 and have thousands of hours of play time
There's some people who don't know how to use Homebrew like me
The nintendo 2ds was the first console i bought with my own money from work... I had it for years and i only lost it because we had to move because our house was being renovated... I have a switch i want to buy a 2ds again...
I have 5 modded 3DS/2DS's, and this one feels the best in your hands in my opinion, it's not as top heavy as the hinged systems (I also have a "new" 2DS, a "new" 3DS XL, and an original 3DS) in addition to the 2 original 2DS systems, this is the one I play on the couch the most. To me it just feels so much better in the hands that I'm willing to overlook the slightly sub par screen.
Yes same here. I have various models but I prefer playing the 2DS for less strain in my joints.
I started collecting them 😅
I agree, but the screen size isn't the only reason I wouldn't play the 2DS as much anymore, its also due to the system not being as fast as the new 3DS systems, now it doesn't matter nearly as much as it would on say a Xbox or Playstation, but it being a bit faster is my main sticking point, its also more prevalent if you homebrew the system since it takes way less time for everything to install over the 2DS
I’m getting a 2DS tomorrow!
You should just get a switch
@@Mr_octane247 nah, depending on where he lives, the switch is still expensive af to buy and mod
@@Mr_octane247Nah, dual screens
Cool i love it
2:06 that is the biggest what now
just got a 3ds today (used and scratched up) after being on 2ds all this time i really miss the fold and snap of the original ds’s and the portability but 2ds is still solid i am hoping to find 2ds xl at a bargain to make as my main emulating device as 3d is quite unique but the 3ds battery drains with it on
W buy :) i got a switch last week and honestly i prefer my old 2ds apart from the graphics.
i loves all the features and the vibe and on the switch the only thing u can do is gaming and there is limited other apps.
@@kingweevii yeah tbh i would buy a switch but to play mario kart only so getting a 3ds was a unique experience yet nostalgic playing the games i had previously is really enjoyable i be on it more than my phone lol
I have a soft spot for the 2DS since it was my introduction to Nintendo, before that the PSP was my first handheld ever, but unlike the PSP I remember my 2DS more fondly then my PSP, hell I still have it years later since 2012, and its still in great condition, I don't use it as much anymore since I homebrewed my new 3DS XL, but I always come back to the system every so often for the nostalgia of playing it, but also for the comfortability since I will die on the hill of the 2DS being the most comfortable out of any DS system
but unfortunately nowadays it is starting to be abandoned along with advances in technology 😢
The eshop shutting down…
7:02 oh no no no, you cannot play Xenoblade Chronicles on the old 2DS model. You can on the New Nintendo 2DS XL which is more expensive, but not on the original 2DS, which is the topic of this video. Any game that has that exclusive "Only for New Nintendo 3DS" can only be played on the New Nintendo 3DS lineup, which includes the New Nintendo 2DS XL.
This is so confusing… can the 2ds play all 3Ds pokemon games?
@@BlueFins7 Oh, I know. It's quite confusing as Nintendo made quite a few 3DS models, some with confusing names. But yes, every Pokémon game is playable on the normal 2DS (the one in this video). Just a small handful of games that were New Nintendo 3DS exclusive games, like Xenoblade Chronicles, are unplayable on the OLD 3DS/2DS.
just one for $10 by trading in some old games. im happy with it.
I love the 2ds xl it had really good games❤
I’m still so sad that the eshop shut down completely.
I just picked up a 2DS still in the box and in perfect condition for 130 AUD.
I'm excited to revist some childhood games, as well as the older pokémon games.
I picked one up without a box for$ 36 USD
@ShadesAwayYT That's an absolute steal, hope you enjoy the console man :)
I loved it when I was a kid
I just bought a transparent red one !!
I’m getting a red and white one!
@@traviscunningham7062sweet !!! I just got mine
i have the zelda link green one got it brand new still love it
This is the poor man’s 3DS.
I have a question, I bought Nintendo 2ds for my nephew. Can you play Nintendo ds games on Nintendo 2ds?
Yes you can
you can't play xenoblade on this 2ds. only "new" 3ds and 2ds can play xenoblade
gameboy, color, advance, ds, 3ds in 1
I one when I was a little kid
