I couldn't stop watching it. It was like watching an automatic skeleton watch tick- seeing all the mechanicals at work simultaneously. It's like watching New York City walk about casually. 0_0
I can't blame them, it being what, 2008 and dealing with the overcomplicated architecture that the PS3 CELL processor was buil in. A lot of power sure, but really hard to program for. The game holds up pretty well if you ask me.
The silence between steps is eerie. Also, while I think using treads would have been more effective for support (but less cool), having six legs rather than 4 is a good alternative. 4 would still struggle to hold this behemoth, and probably not be able to move. Two more helps share the load considerably while movement is occurring.
You know what would be really cool? If that in AC 6, look-alikes to this arms fort are dropped from orbit to saturate an area and you have to fight them as occasional bosses. I've always imagined this thing dropping from a space station and just going full bore on everything around it the second it hit the ground.
There was definitely something motherwill-like in the trailer, and who could forget the baby cabracan! The spinny arm boss guy has cabracan's skirt and front-face
As a recent fan of Armored Core, I like to tell people that a few of the Arms Forts are basically giant walking military bases. Especially this one that is practically made up of the entirety of America's Personal Defense Fund
Was it you who also made that video of Motherwill walking out the zone ans the mission failing XD Also seeing the legs decompression is very impressive. The tech to make a building walk... Its insane
not to mention the engineering done to make sure that each foot was able to handle the weight and pressure exerted every time it took a step. and keep everything above the leg area flat and leveled.
Those legs are moving way too fast for something so massive and heavy. I get it's a video game, but realism had been injected into the franchise some time ago when larger mechs were used as bosses or background scenery. They are slow, lumbering giants that take forever to do anything, but the impact is felt by everyone. Here though, I feel the joints of the limbs move too fast for its bulk. The step makes sense as gravity is doing all the work, but the twist and shift to new positions just don't feel natural enough for me. But I guess you don't notice it when you are fighting hundreds of normals around, under and on top of these behemoths. It's a set piece rather than an actor, so I'll forgive the janky movement.
It also bothers me how it's lifting two entire legs at the same time on the same side. That would invite some serious structural damage and very funny tilting on a machine of that size and shape.
You're playing a game where a robot has advanced materials and energy generation which lets it break the sound barrier without aerodynamic concern and you're confused that a walking town using all the same technology can inch along at a speed maybe only ten times faster than the crawler shuttle launch platforms?
Love that you can hear the distant echoes of giant metal parts tumbling in this. It sells just how massive this AF is supposed to be.
Yea!
Its that lil thing that makes you say "woooo! Cool"
you can clearly see the god damn skyscrapers nearby for scale- its big man

Thats because Motherwill actually is as wide as a city
And MUCH taller than the tallest building
if you havent done it yet, i'd tell you to listen to the Answerer's noises. it sounds like a heartbeat thing, its odd but really damn cool
Whale sounds
I thought it was breathing. So eerie.
So thats what the booming sound was....
i thought it was the internals being blown up when you destroyed the weapon emplacements in the mission
Yeah, I remember playing through this years ago and wondering the whole time "What keeps exploding?"
The ground, the ground is exploding under this things weight.
At this scale the sound should be delayed, but it is heard before the foot even touches the ground 😂

@Eric Boone exactly.
1:07 around here there are some delays
@@nnnnnnnnn8888 I don't hear it. The sounds are near instant. There should be a second of delay for every sound it's making at this scale.
@Eric Boone That doesn't change the true scale. It's not like looking at it from the NEXT's perspective makes sound travel faster.
The silence between steps is eerie.

This is the nightmare of the world since the spirit of Motherwill is the Strongest weapon in the ground.

@@arlensmith7273 OK, I JUST SAID THAT MOTHERWILL IS THE STRONGEST WEAPON OF ACFA
I feel like they used these same sounds in Sen's Fortress in Dark Souls 1, sounds really familiar-
amazing that we're gonna see something of this size but from the quality of armored core 6
There was definitely something motherwill-like in the trailer, and who could forget the baby cabracan! The spinny arm boss guy has cabracan's skirt and front-face
The harmonies are cool. This is the type of stuff you end up staring at for an hour when you're high as fuck
It indeed gives that feeling of something Massive
Ear protection is mandatory for all crew

imagine you see that thing coming towards you as you race against time to the mass evacuation site
Was it you who also made that video of Motherwill walking out the zone ans the mission failing XD

No this was a other person.
The scale is incredible in this game
This is quite relaxing :)
Wait 15 minutes and have Mother Will escape.
The Motherwill is a walking city of death.
What exactly is the order of steps? It seems to me like the front leg on one side and middle + rear leg on the opposite side move at the same time.
One, two (left side)
One, two (right side)
and that order means this thing will topple over
Next what happen if we get stomp by motherwill
I wonder if there is a scale model plastic Model kit for sale ?
Sadly no. But I am sure there would be alot of buyers for Arms Fort Kits.
You who are in Japan have you ever seen, Tank "MATSUKAZE mdl 2 Defense base" scale 1/72 for sale? I'm looking for a site, or something.
@@r-typeforever_r-9dp2_asanoga16 never saw, I only own the model of the collectors edition from Verdict Day.
How are you staying off her radar?
Who is she shooting at if you're hidden?
