Contrary to people not wanting them to port or remaster the old games and would just rather them make a brand new one from scratch, I'd actually want them to do this with New Leaf as it was the definitive Animal Crossing experience in my opinion. Issues and gripes for the game aside, it still felt more complete than New Horizons in my opinion, and still to this day puts New Horizons to shame in terms of content and how many furniture items and customization options it has. New Horizons did bring new things to the table, but if they made a New Leaf HD with some New Horizons features sprinkled in, I think it could very well be one of the best games in the series, but also do absolutely amazing in sales. They just need to make it happen. Whether it's on the Switch as a nice thank you and love letter to all the players who bought New Horizons also for not leaving them in the dust, or something they open for the Switch 2 to boost up hype for the console as well as hype up an eventual brand new entry to the series are something the developers NEED to consider, please!

Nh has most/every part of the old games with new stuff sprinkled on. We need new stuff and not just the same game that has less to do. The longevity is what makes the game special because of the time irl. I'd love to have a ac game which focuses somewhat on the same "you travel somewhere and then start designing" trope all games in the ac genre have, but focused more on not just one island, but multiple. You don't need to hard reset your game for a new world, you can just island hop. Like instead of designing your own island, you can design your *own entire world* kind of thing. That'd fix a lot of complaints people have about nh. They'd spend so much time designing something, but now gotta erase the save or remove everything to start over for a new theme. Maybe even more of a focus on the ocean life as well with seeing bigger creatures like whales, but instead of catching them, you start 'storylines' which is just a new npc character and you go around in a boat to catch photos or videos of the big beasts and you submit those to the museum. This can also lead to *finally* uncovering aquatic fossils too! Each island should have its own set of bugs too, at different times of the year, more bugs too. Different environments. You'd have one rainforest like island, then you'd have places that would resemble Africa and Australia, just to make it more unique like the islands just have their own feel to it. Idk, just a ramble at this point 🤣
As someone who hadn't even HEARD of Animal Crossing until a friend let me borrow their 3DS, I would LOVE to be able to play some of the old games!! Especially the GameCube version - it seems like it would be SO EASY to bring over, if they would only put GameCube games on Switch Online!

Only way I can think of is that with new console release hopefully we get one last update to accommodate, while at this update you can update Kappin so he can take you to GameCube town port. I just haven’t thought of an idea to connect to the bus station to let’s go to the city unless you can open up a holiday shop/post office in the museum, run by Phyllis who you see to organise a trip voucher to take to airport and instead of going right once through the gate you go left and use the loading screen to tell the story of how you go from sea plane to bus
They may hold it put for Switch 2. Like maybe the processing of GC games or similar could be added to the hardware with Switch 2. But I would love to play some of the old games. At least the original and New Leaf, personally.
TLDR: Give us New Leaf while we wait 8 years for the next console and AC game. Nintendo hates their Animal Crossing fans it's been like this since the beginning. People who discovered AC with NH in 2020 (majority of fans imo) are just now learning this. It was 8 years between New Leaf and New Horizons and if you consider the amount of time between the Switch being released and NH being released (3 years) it probably won't be until years after Nintendos next big console that we actually get another mainline AC game. That all said, New Leaf was the best installment of ALL TIME so in the meantime of the potential 5-8 years we get a new Animal Crossing, THE LEAST Nintendo could do is give us the ability to play New leaf again. It had way better music, way better path options, was simpler. Your village really came together over time instead of being such a daunting task to make it amazing. Don't get me wrong, I love New Horizons, but it has never hit the same as New Leaf. Part of that could do with the console being the 3ds which was an amazing handheld for A LONG TIME. Anyway, I'm glad there's so many AC fans now because before New Horizons, I knew 4 people that played the game and one of them was my best friend who I forced to play and the 3 others were my sisters.
I would love to play the older games after hearing all about how different they were for New Horizons, the only AC game I've played. Hopefully Nintendo's next system will have them! Bob's Gang!
To be honest, I wouldn't want a port or a remake of the original. Mainly because if they do that they would have to change everything that made the original awesome. Like Resetti at you for not playing "correctly". The villagers would probably not be mean or get mad at you for things either. I noticed that Nintendo did something to the villagers in ACNH because when I went 6 months without playing the villagers didn't seem to care as much as they did when it first came out. When my friend didn't play for one month the villagers kind of gave them a guilt trip for being gone so long. After 6 months I didn't get a guilt trip. Just a quick missed you and that's it.
I dont get the people saying "you cant put a 2 screen game onto one screen!!" When AC used to be a 2 screen game yet we literally have new horizons proving that it can literally be done. Idk what the problem is.

Therefore, all the other games can be done on one screen. 2 screen ac games only really showed the sky, but nh proved that we really don't need to see that constantly. We hear what we need to like balloons and we can easily tilt the camera to see the sky for stars. I typically don't see the appeal of wanting the other ac games onto the switch, because there's no huge feature that makes the old games unique, apart from nostalgia. Plus you'd be wasting your money buying nearly the same game that you 9.9 times out of 10 already have because the games all follow the same exact premise. It's not like you're buying 2 different games with 2 different stories that's unique like botw and totk. Maybe I'm just not much of a nostalgic person, because we already have nh for Nintendo switch ac vibes and feel.
I first started my AC journey on Wild World when it was released. Amazing game. Awhile back i found my original DS lite, black of course, and amongst the games were ACWW. unfortunately it was not in the case. 😭 I used Citra as an emulator to play New Leaf since i never played it but it's not as fun like on a handheld device. We need to riot at Nintendo HQ with pitchforks and signs that are unintelligible to show them we mean business about not wanting, but NEEDING them on the switch!😂😉

It'd be a waste of time and money to import every rendition of nearly the same exact game to one platform. You're better off either having the old consoles with the old game than wasting your time doing something nintendo will never do. Nh is unique with crafting and deep sea creatures and is by far the most unique game out of the console ac games. I'm not sure why you want to nintendo to go backwards and bring out games the majority of people won't be spending money on if they already have nh.
I’m just hoping the next animal crossing game will be available on the Nintendo switch and not just a new console I just bought the Nintendo switch and animal crossing game 2 years ago spending over $700 for 2 (one for me and one for my daughter) we both enjoy animal crossing I just can’t afford to keep buying new systems when games are also expensive themselves
I don’t think Nintendo is gonna continue making new “Nintendo switch online” platforms to play old games. From now on they’re gonna bring back something similar to virtual console for GameCube-Wii U games because those are way more fleshed out than gameboy or n64 games. I assume they’re gonna bundle lots of older games similar to Pikmin 1 and 2. It’s obvious the next console will have complete cross compatibility with switch games and I’m assuming they’re just gonna keep Nintendo switch online for the next console as well, I wouldn’t be surprised if you needed Nintendo switch online in order to purchase “virtual console” games or bundles
Bobs gang, i would love a miracle about this, i own all the animal crossing games physically but i would love to play gamecube without having to plug my wii with adapters and having to buy a new controller (i can't manage to make it work on my mac) and for new leaf i would have to buy a new 3 or 2DS because mine died and i can't put the money in that now unfortunately. I can't wait for the future one to come tho

DS animal crossing games were made for 2 screen consoles. acnh was made for a 1 screen console. are you catching my drift?
