To keep everything accurate and clarify a few points in the second part: - this tutorial applies to v0.1 of the project. Maybe you will see a few changes on the project page if you use the current version - when you search the CPU-Z report file for "VGA Controller", you need to also make sure the manufacturer ID says 0x10DE (NVIDIA). Because if you have an iGPU, "VGA Controller" will show up twice in the file, but only one will be for the NVIDIA GPU - next when you search the same CPU-Z report for "PCI to PCI bridge", you will find multiple occurences. You need to select the one bridge that has the "Secondary bus" number equal to the GPU bus number - in Visual Studio you need to choose the BAR size that covers the size of the video RAM (vRAM) on the graphics card. If the graphics card has 6GB VRAM, choose BAR size _8G. If the graphics card has 11GB VRAM, choose _16G BAR size. - when using the Profile Inspector (at the end of the video) - watch for the download link so you do not download anything fake. You should only download the tool from github.com. - you need to look for and edit the per-application settings in Profile Inspector. Because these settings, if present, override the global settings. - For a non-English language set in Windows, users report NvStrapsReBar.exe command no longer works. This was fixed in the latest version (for most languages!) but v0.1 used in the video now keeps the original bug. You can change language from Windows Settings, or you can find pciLocationRegexp in file DeviceList.cc, and manually change the string within quotes (the regexp) to read "^PCI[ -][0-9a-zA-Z]+ ([0-9]+), .+ ([0-9]+), .+ ([0-9]+).*$"
The first part is indeed for patching motherboards that do not officially support ReBAR. The second part is for patching a GPU from GTX 1600 / RTX 2000 line, that does not support ReBAR, and also patching the motherboard. If your motherboard already supports rebar, but you need this driver to enable ReBAR for the GPU side only: - you can input special value 65 when you run NvStrapsReBar.exe (towards the end of the video), to tell it to to configure GPU side only, and not interfere or touch anything on the motherboard side. This is the least intrusive option, and on later versions became the System default (value 0). This option should be tried first - you can input special value 64 when you run NvStrapsReBar.exe, to tell the driver to only set the BAR size for the selected GPU device, in the same way the motherboard UEFI would do it by default. Soem users report the unintrusive option above (input value 65) is not good enough for some systems and does not result in ReBAR being enabled. So you should go with option 64 in that case (and you can keep ReBAR enabled in UEFI setup).

Nobody owes you help. Particularly if you're too lazy to do what's needed. Go away and stop wasting everyone's time. It's a really bad idea for you to try this with your BIOS. You clearly don't yet have enough attention and, as things are right now, frankly enough intelligence to do what the channel creator is guiding people through. Wait until you've grown up a bit and are more mature. And definitely wait until you have a better attitude. By the way, if your response is going to be along the lines of STFU, then don't bother, it just makes you look like even more of an idiot. Do you want to look like more of an idiot than you do already? If you have any sense, thank the channel creator for his effort in this video, go away and learn a few things before you come back and try this.
The video title states it’s about resizable bar on any motherboard or graphics card, if you don’t know what resizeable bar is, it’s a feature inside of a motherboards bios that allows the cpu to access the GPUs memory as a whole. Which improves performance, this normally can net you an extra 3 to 7 fps in games. if you wish to learn more visit the GitHub page listed in the videos description.

The whole guide is now out of date, go to the GitHub page listed in the description and follow the steps

@@SignedAdamtheyre too complicate
The motherboard does not accept a modified BIOS Why
You’ll have to look up you’re motherboard and how to flash a modified bios
So if i have a motherboard which supports RBar already, then i'll have a harder time to make it work? I have a z390 aorus mainboard and a rtx 2080 super.
However from my understanding, you’re issue isn’t with the motherboard, but you’re gpu and it’s vbios, NVIDIA have decided the 20 series isn’t allowed rebar, if you have a motherboard which doesn’t support rebar yes you can make it work but the problem is you’re motherboard already has rebar, you could try using an older motherboard bios back when rebar wasn’t added and following my guide, or you can try and add it along side it, the ideal option would be force the option on inside the 20 series gpu vbios.
Someone with a X570, 2080Super says they followed the guide and got it working. Source xCuri0 github discussion page
@@SignedAdam please make a new one from the github instructions specifically for motherboards with no rebar option. i almost bricked my mobo. please help
I haven't seen anyone try it on a laptop, is it possible? I am using Surfacebook 3 with rtx quadro 3000
Some people have done it on laptops however it’s still risky.
Your laptop can literally explode man
hey i have an msi gl65 10sfsk with i7 10750h, rtx 2070 super with 8G and MS-16U7 motherboard, does my mb support re-bar ? or doing the second part of the tutorial like you did should be fine ?
you'll need to do the 2ed part as well, as youre using a gpu that doesn't support rebar, so youll need to patch that in
i dont think youre laptop will have flash back, or someway to recover from a bios fault, i wouldn't risk it but it's up to you
@@SignedAdami see thanks, i'll wait and follow the projet hopping that someone using same setup manage to make it work flawlassly
@@SignedAdamit seems like i don't have above 4g decoding option in my bios
Did you also already check the advance/hidden setting in your bios msi?@@ilyas5796
I cannot flash the bios to my gigabyte motherboard.
Efiflash tells me that it is writing to the flash, verified succesfully, but the bios is still the old one, not the one i modified.
This is just a brainfk.
This is a gigabyte thing, have you tried the usb flashback method?
Also look up “win raid gigabyte flash bios” in a search engine, you might be able to download an executable (.exe) that will flash the file, some only work in dos mode so you would need to boot a free dos usb (as example then do it) some also need extra commands like -f in the command to force it, or something else to make it a full write, it could be as simple as a check box in windows, you should see ASUS they are the worse with kinda encrypted .Cap files, so it doesn’t even see a rom… again you follow this at you’re own risk, you are liable for any damage caused to you’re equipment, by following this comment, understand I have to say this and this is why I don’t show people how to flash the bios in the video
@@SignedAdam yep i did that. Modded efiflash with ms dos.
It writes in software, but does not write to the chip.
I tried all day every single combination but no success.
@@xelbrb i tried with only the modified bios on a pendrive, but the pendrive just blinks a few times and thats it, the qflash led does not light up like it refuses to update.
Do i have to rename the file?
Hello
Can it done on Sandy Bridge too? I have one system with ASUS P8H67 and i7 3770 with RTX 3060
and another with GIGABYTE Aorus B365M Elite (Unfortunately Gigabyte didnt make bios support BAR on its coffee lake boards like MSI (it did) and intel i7 8700K with RTX 3070
should it be done on both?
tnx
please check github.com/terminatorul/NvStrapsReBar/issues/1 for known working boards. if you don’t see you’res then you’ll be the 1st, follow the guide at you’re own risk I am not responsible if it fails
@@SignedAdam TNX BRO
Can you do one on how to enable above 4g decoding
Fast forward to 56:37 talks / shows about how to enable above 4g decoding
@@SignedAdamthx so much 🙏
@@SignedAdamoh yes your mother has the setting in bio but my motherboard is a ga-x79-ud3 and the 4g decode is hidden was wondering if you could do a tutorial for those motherboards that have the settings hidden
Z490 2070 SUPER IS GOOD ?
Should work? Do it at you’re own risk
Will this work for intel motherboard, hp z800, z820?
It should work on most, if not all DIY aftermarket motherboards, oem motherboards may be a different story you can try, but it will be at your own risk.
@@SignedAdam What do you mean?
Anyone can patch the temporal dithering to off? On nvidia, etc The ledstrain forum guys are desperate for solution to use modern gpu?

B450 (Supports 4G Decode and ReBar) here with 1660Ti. What do I do? I aint watching an hour long boring vid to get my GPU to do ReBar.
Then you’re next option is to go to the GitHub in the video description and read what to do there and follow the steps. Good luck
If you have any sense, thank the channel creator for his effort in this video, go away and learn a few things before you come back and try this.
блин это конечно круто,но я тупой и скорее всего обосрусь еще до прошивки
РЕБАР для одного гупу
whats this video about?
The video title states it’s about resizable bar on any motherboard or graphics card, if you don’t know what resizeable bar is, it’s a feature inside of a motherboards bios that allows the cpu to access the GPUs memory as a whole. Which improves performance, this normally can net you an extra 3 to 7 fps in games. if you wish to learn more visit the GitHub page listed in the videos description.
