@@KobraBB yes you need to use usb flashback, there should be a button at the back of you’re motherboard that you hold to flash the bios while the system is off

@@mrjohnlira please follow the link in the description to the GitHub page where you can report problems. ASUS are one of the worst for preventing modification to their bios, The Flash appears as if it happened as the progress bar will hit 100% but after saving the bios file, using a hex editor to split the files in to two and opening it in a special tool used to change Hidden settings, you’ll find these edits were never saved and the bios stays the same completely untouched, the only modification you’ll see is the bios image changing, so the boot logo, that’s it.

@@mrjohnlira the only way I know of flashing a ASUS bios is hooking up an external programmer, setting the correct voltage, and flashing it that way

@@derbernd1234 it’s because you’re motherboard is a “resizeable bar capable board” which means the official resizeable bar option has conflict with the unofficial one you added. A Fix, I believe would be to go back to a bios version which didn’t have official resizeable bar support. Then add the unofficial resizeable bar support and you shouldn’t have a problem

@@dannn2450 depends on the card inside, if it’s between a 1660 and up then yes it should work. However it is more risky with laptops as they often don’t have flash back functionality

Did you add the .txt file? At 8:14 it needs to be placed in to the same folder as the .exe, replace any file already there

And i think the files itself are fine. Just write protected i guess. I even "modded" the basic bios and renamed it without actually adding anything and it still said "do you want to update bios". So idk what write protect there is etc. For the modded files. Or do i try terminatoul way? Could it be bad bios file?

I’ve reinstalled windows and changed the cpu from a 3900x to a 5800x3d, I’ve tried many different drivers, I’ve used the ddu uninstaller tool and still the problem remains

@@SignedAdam tekken aswell has a terrible dlss implantation, go play vermintide 2 darktide or high on life all 3 of those game has perfect dlss implemtation , atleast from my experiecne with a 11900k overclocked with a 4070 32gigs of ddr4 clocked at 3200 mhz. also ive been hearing that alot of this newer hardware like intels new cpus an amds gpus etc, have been having alot alot of driver problems loss of performance etc.

@@SignedAdam at least for all the dlss weirdness yur having i know for a fact its just poorly implemented in the game, especially with unreall engine games dlss likes to cause alot of ghosting, only games that i can say have a perfect perfect implementation is high on life , verminitde 2, darktide also the witcher has a good one Aswell. when i do run into these ghosting problems i just update the dlss file an if that doesn't help i just use xess bec xess is wayy better than any fsr. but i will say if i have a good enough base fps ill just use frame generation with no dlss. darktide for instance is such a demanding game that my fps can go down to the 50s if im not mistaken ( at least with my 3070 i haven't tested Darktide on my 4070 without frame gen an dlss bec its just that good i cant see why id play it any other way ) an with both dlss 3 an dlss G i get around 180 200 fps in intense combat goes to maybe like 140 160 fps, without any of those i get anywhere from 50-80 fps, which isnt bad at all but if u have the options use it bec the game will feel that much better, its night an day

@@Orincaby I’m being told they can’t see the issue… if I get this back I’ll be making sure to check that it isn’t happening on another system, this is the 2ed one having the issue… it’s preventing me from doing RUclips. - system don’t work without gpu

.cap Files are made by ASUS. You’ll need an extra bit of hardware to flash an ASUS board unless someone has made a tool, look up how to program asus bios with a programmer

It takes a lot to setup, as the computer isn’t mine, then I have to edit the video add voice over I’m working on it hopefully this or next month

Please open a case on the GitHub page, it’s the 1st url in the description, before you do, if you are talking about using the uefi patch executable, you could try skipping that part and it might work anyway? it’s only necessary for older boards.

Try all the step, even flashback bios. Cantget it work for the last patch. NVstraprebar.ffs cannot be patch. Help me plss.

I try to bypass and when straight to Nvstrapsrebar.exe it doesnt enable resizebar. I think the reason is that nvstrapbar.ffs cannot be patched by your process or flashback, but only one me. Allthe steps were correct as shown in ir vid. Only the pacthing. Huiham. Getting tired. Tried all day and nite.

You should have downloaded an executable file that allows you to enable resizeable bar, you just open it and then run through the options shown on screen.

Should work for 16 series and up

Some people have done it on laptops however it’s still risky.

@@dema4356 the tutorial was made for 0.1v, it might work for 0.3v, the risks of this not working obviously get higher the more changes you make, all you would do is not enter the version selection command, which has 0.1v written in it

It taken me months and months to get this working with reproduce successful results, if anything changes with the code or any of the installers problems may be introduced which people won’t be able to get around unless they reach out for help, so even in its current form, it can still fail.

As you’re motherboard has rebar already it might not work, however if you wish to try you’re going to need to carry on from 6:41 terminatorul way. You’ll need to do everything, as you’re 20 series doesn’t support rebar out of the box so it needs patching in

@@SignedAdam Ok thank you, So I succeed, on asus motherboard you need to use flashback, because in the bios it doesn't work. I gain 35 fps in the game I play so about 20% in the game I play. So It's really really nice. Thank you. I saw increaser in cpu usage, so might not work on everybody's config.

The tutorial will work for 0.1v you’ll see at some point in the tutorial that it gets downgraded to 0.1v so this tutorial stays relevant and will carry on working long in the future, if you want 0.3v you’ll have to ignore the downgrade command and carry on that way, at you’re own risk as this tutorial was done with 0.1v, if you feel confident then you could try 0.3v.

They followed the guide and that’s how they got it working ?

I think they downgraded to an older bios then upgraded to the modified bios we make in this guide

I will add your board seems pretty new, meaning it will already likely have resizeable bar. I understand it’s not a version that allows you to enable resizeable bar on your board + graphics card combination. However having the patched version along side the normal version of resizeable bar can’t be good.

Are you getting this error when trying to import your bios file in to uefitool I’m going to need more information?

try removing any spaces that you have in youre file names and add the file extension in E.G bad file name "UEFI With ReBAR" Good file name "UEFIWithReBAR.rom"

If you go to the link, to the ASUS forum (found in the video description) they don’t care as they have locked the post. Never buying an ASUS laptop or motherboard again

I fixed the issue by clean installing the latest build of Windows 11 from microsofts website using ventoy to make a bootable drive, I disabled secure boot because only the official media creation tool works properly with and it is mostly useless anyway. Now I know that nobody should have to clean install their os but the version of windows that came on my laptop (win11) was FULL of issues all of which I have not had on a non tampered clean regular install of windows. I downloaded the app from asus's website specifically the version that auto detects and uses the network to choose component (as I found the manual 3gb download much more complicated to configure), once I downloaded it the app installed and gave me the same prompt about giving the app admin but it only asked once and launcher perfectly afterwards. Thankfully there was enough issues to make me want to clean install with a standard microsoft image because it has transformed my experience with this machine, most importantly though is that I can change my fan curve :) Sorry this issue has not been fixed, asus should be ashamed for not supplying functional software with their expensive machines, if it wherent for the fact that clean standard windows works so well and the machine wasnt everything I ever wanted in a computer then I would have returned it asap. This is a gigabyte thing, have you tried the usb flashback method?

Also look up “win raid gigabyte flash bios” in a search engine, you might be able to download an executable (.exe) that will flash the file, some only work in dos mode so you would need to boot a free dos usb (as example then do it) some also need extra commands like -f in the command to force it, or something else to make it a full write, it could be as simple as a check box in windows, you should see ASUS they are the worse with kinda encrypted .Cap files, so it doesn’t even see a rom… again you follow this at you’re own risk, you are liable for any damage caused to you’re equipment, by following this comment, understand I have to say this and this is why I don’t show people how to flash the bios in the video

@@SignedAdam yep i did that. Modded efiflash with ms dos. It writes in software, but does not write to the chip. I tried all day every single combination but no success.

@@xelbrb i tried with only the modified bios on a pendrive, but the pendrive just blinks a few times and thats it, the qflash led does not light up like it refuses to update. Do i have to rename the file?

you'll need to do the 2ed part as well, as youre using a gpu that doesn't support rebar, so youll need to patch that in

i dont think youre laptop will have flash back, or someway to recover from a bios fault, i wouldn't risk it but it's up to you

⁠​⁠​⁠​⁠@@blazebottfollow on from terminatoral way and I believe you will have it up and working, please comment back if it works, you are taking a risk but youre motherboard sounds newer than mine, so if anything does mess up you do a flashback to the original bios, make sure to have above 4g enabled in the bios at all times and secure boot. Otherwise after applying the rebar you’ll end up with a system that doesn’t post, it will power on and then off, to fix this if you forget to apply the bios settings, just press the cmos reset button and it should fix everything good luck
