Ofcourse it's the males we think of when we think of peacocks with their beautiful tails. I'm hoping for one of each. :) but I'll be happy if any hatch. We'll know soon!
Peacocks are very vocal birds. Some communities ban them as being a nuisance. Like a goose, you can also tell where they have been by the fertilizer left behind. How can they go for days in a shipping box, but only a half an hour outside of an incubator? No insulation is good enough to keep them warm for more than a few hours. If it were, you would not need incubators, just insulation.
They do make noise. I've heard guinea hens are worse! I happen to like the noise of birds...we'll see. Apparently eggs stay viable for quite a while but once you start the incubation process there's no turning back. Natures miracle. Chickens poop alot too...it's the best fertilizer! I'll let you know next week what happens
Wow I think I see blood vessels in the first egg. Now I am invested in this. Must follow closely as I think 1 might hatch! How can they survive mailing in the first place if they have to be kept at a certain temp? On pins and needles here, fingers crossed, several types of Gods prayed to............
Eggs are interesting that way. On one hand, to get them to hatch the temperature and humidity have to be right. They seem to be suspended in time for awhile. I've heard of people hatching eggs that had been refrigerated for weeks! Mailing, jostling them, can surely scramble them and so it will be a miracle if any hatch. I think you are right..there's at least one in there.
I grew up down the block from a peacock farm. They are magnificent! Hope these hatch!!!

Fascinating story, thanks for sharing. We will need to tune in next week to find out what happens. 🤔
On pins and needles here!
