Thank you for this. I love that you talked slowly and have captions. I could follow on the Jbead program as you were talking, making this very "hands on"
I have been asking around to learn how to crochet beads and no one knew. Thank you so much for you clear explanation.
After making my first lariat the usual swirl pattern to learn bead crochet, I'm loving this, and now am looking to design a few pieces for my summer wardrobe. Your tutorial is excellent!
It's very clear, and your lovely, modulated speaking voice allows enough time for your instructions to sink in; I didn't have to replay parts of the tutorial to comprehend anything. Thanks so much!
+Sahara Briscoe thanks so much for your positive feedback. It informed me that my method of instruction is beneficial to you and hopefully most of my viewers. And I'm happy to hear you are going to utilize the JBead software to create a design for your bead crochet project. It's a lot of fun, I hope you enjoy it:)
I much appreciate your response. I will study the tutorial. Her voice is so clear that there is no problem with the subtitle. I've seen other tutorials that the subtitle does not agree with what is said, and is difficult to read and understand, but it is not the case. I can say this is the first time I have no problems with subtitling tutorial. You are a great teacher. !! I will practice both tutorial and English¡¡
blancanieves735 being referred to as a great teacher is the best comment I have had. Thank you very much. But more importantly, thanks for letting me know that subtitles would benefit you. I was happy to do it and again as I previously said, I plan to add subtitles to my other videos as well:)
You are so generous to share this with the public. I will pay it forward some way. Thanks again!
+Esma Vance thanks for the wonderful comments and thanks for offering to pay it forward. You can help others by sharing the video tutorial so that other crafters can enjoy it as well.
I am so glad I happened upon your video. I've been beading for over 30 years and I never heard of this software, but always saw the charts on Pinterest and wondered where to get them. I think I am finally ready to give bead crochet a shot. It's the only technique of beading I haven't tried. I'm off to watch your other tutorials. Thanks so much.
Thank you so much. First I thought you talked too slowly but I appreciated it! I was very glad to find this because I looked at patterns and didn't know where to start stringing or what the various pattern pieces were. Much appreciated. Thumbs up
same here....!!
This is terrific!!! I always wondered how this type of program worked. I am so anxious now to try it. Thank you sooooo much. Your tutorials are so clear and not rushed.
IM JUST STARTING TO BEAD CROCHET. FABULOUS TUTORIAL. THANK YOU.
+Maria Arroyo thanks for the wonderful comment. When I first started bead crochet, I found size 6 beads the easiest to work with. As you get better, you can move down to smaller size beads, such as size 8 and 11, for more complex pattern designs. FYI...Size 6 beads are my favorite to work with:)
Amazing tutorial! And very calming voice. I was trying to plan all these out in my head, thank you so much!
Yes. You're right. I made a pattern, then watched your tutorial again to refine what I did. It worked out great'. Thank you for doing this. So very generous of you.
+Joan O'Shaughnessy, I'm happy to hear that it worked out for you. And your'e very welcome.
Thank you for this tutorial so clear for me who is not a english spoken. It's great !!
Awesome!! I am just learning bead crochet and I downloaded the software. Am excited to try making some of my own patterns. Thanks a million!!!
I just found your channel and I want to thank you for your help in installing that software. I just did it. Thank you again.
+PACERGIRL68 I'm happy to hear you found my video, helpful. And, I hope you enjoy creating designs for your bead work. It's a lot of fun:)
thank you so much.
I was very glad to find this because I looked at patterns and didn't know where to start stringing ?
Thanks so so much. I can’t wait to start designing. You’re video is very explanatory you’re such a good teacher. Thanks again
😘😘😘😘😘😘😎😎😎😎😎😍😍😍😍😍👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾💗💗💗💗 THANK YOU ~ FINALLY ABLE TO DO THIS!! 😘😘😘😘😘😘😎😎😎😎😎😍😍😍😍😍👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾💗💗💗💗 VERY VERY VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!!
Great! Thanks so much for taking the time to post this jbead tutorial! This software is wonderful! Exactly what I needed.
Love jbead! I am new to bead crochet, and I just designed my second ever piece of bead crochet. My only problem with jbead is I am using 4 beads and it only goes down to 5 beads.
Thank you very much for this great informative video. I’m looking forward to getting started in bead crochet
Thank you sooo much. I wondered how those complicated patterns were done!
You're very welcome +Esma Vance. I hope you'll have fun creating a design:)
Loved the tutorial! And it's another push to learn bead crochet - something that's been on my To-Do List for ages.
Excellent software, isn't it? And I could use the patterns for peyote or brick-stitch bead weaving, couldn't I? My brain is now zooming around, desperate to get going!!!
My thoughts exactly!!! I've beading for many moons, using colored pencils and graph paper or printing the graphs from Fire Mountain Gems, for a long time, this will spare me the time AND the wear on my fingers, lol. Bead crochet is the only technique I've yet to conquer (and try) in my 30 years of beading. Good luck. :)
This is an excellent tutorial! Thank you so much! Instructions very clear and your voice is pleasant to listen to as well. :D
+S Soutache (simplysoutache) thanks for the wonderful comments. You are very kind. And I hope you enjoy using the software. It can be a lot of fun :)
Thanks for the program and explaination, It is fantastic, I have a doubt, in the example you used, #5 bead but if I used for example # 11 How can I calculated the length of my bracelet?
Thank you so much for posting this. I finished my first design on the software today
KEPoles, I'm happy to hear that my tutorial helped you. As for stringing your beads, if you decide to follow the "List of beads" in the software instead of the "Draft" graph, verify the bead stringing order is correct in the "List of beads". I prefer the "Draft" graph. It's always accurate. Also, I would love to see your design, feel free to post it on my Facebook page facebook.com/LablunsStitchArt?ref=hl
Happy Crocheting:)
Once again...thanks so much! Great tutorial and I'm thrilled to have the design software...
Barb's Burnt Tree on Fine Art America & Etsy thanks so much for letting me know you are going to design your bead crochet jewelry with the jbead software. This software replaces the old method of using graph paper. It's fast and fun. If you create a design, I would love to see it. I just finished a design last night that I really like. I'm going to crochet a bracelet from the design and post a photo of it along with the design pattern on my Facebook page when I'm finished. Also, I see that you already "Liked" my FB page. So, when I post the photo's you should see them in your FB feed. Have fun! facebook.com/LablunsStitchArt?ref=hl
Question - How did you know that 10 rows would be equivelent 1 inch in length? I would think the number of rows for an inch would be determined by the size of the bead. But how did you get to the number of rows as 10 per inch? Thank you for showing this.
Thank you for this tutorial. You have made that clearer than anyone. I also love your work. I can't wait to download the software so I can make my own designs. Please, I have 3 questions though: 1) in the LIST OF BEADS on the far bottom right, the colored squares has a number next to it.... is that how many beads you string of that color? 2) For your example do I string 20 yellow first, and so on? 3) In the list shown, is that one REPEAT? Thank you. And I apologize for the dumb questions. I am a tad technically challenged. Many thanks.
+Madre63 I'm glad the tutorial was helpful. And thanks for the wonderful feedback. The answer to all three of your questions is yes, although there have been a few times when the "List of beads" did not display the correct order that the beads should be strung in. When that happens, I use the "Draft" graph. You begin at the top row on the right (row 60) and count to the left, then drop to row 59 and count to the left again, then row 58, 57, 56, etc, until you reach row 1. This way is more work, but also more trust worthy, when the "List of beads" order doesn't match the order of beads in the "Draft" graph. I hope I answered all of your questions. Also, in my opinion, there are no dumb questions:)
Thank you so very much.
Good tutorial. I was hoping to find out what the "Arrange" option of the software was for and how to use it properly. Can anyone tell me, please?
Weldon, this is beautiful. Pls can u create a rose flower pattern on coin purse, do no how to do that. Only bracelets I can see online. Thanks
Thank you so much for this video. Now I will try to create my own designs.
thank you I have struggled with this for a while now I finally get it!
Diane Jividen I am happy to hear that the Jbead tutorial was helpful. And I hope you will have a lot of fun making bead crochet designs with it:)
Thank you very much, your explanation is so clear I am very grateful. Thank you.
Very, very helpful...thank you so much!!!
Is there a PDF handout of the instructions you provide in your video? Again, thank you for sharing this wonderful software. I suppose I could run this video on my iPad while I'm designing on my computer, but just thought I'd try asking if there is a printout to make start up easier. Thanks, and please advise.
+Joan O'Shaughnessy I searched the internet, but didn't find a set of written instructions for the Jbead software. Watching my tutorial on your iPad sitting next to your pc, sounds like a great work-around. Also, thanks for the wonderful feedback. I hope you enjoy creating your own designs. It's a lot of fun :).
Wow, it's a very good tutorial. Thanks you!
+Johanne Belanger glad you like the tutorial. Thanks for the wonderful comment.
I have been using jbead for nine months now and still love it, still wish the program would let me calculate 4 beads instead of 5. Also wish I could download it to my fire tablet. Works great on the PC, but cannot take it with me. When I try to print the pattern to to a pdf so I can load it on my tablet, it only prints part of the pattern.
make a print screen and edit/paste in word or some other photo editing program program and print it from there
once you have found a design you like, how do you change the colours used to replicate it in a different colour scheme?
Hi! Thanks so much for your kind message. I've been working with the program and I already have seven different designs. Now I know how to increase the width of the design and even to edit the colors, but I have a very important question: I made a short design in the "draft" column (horizontal), and the pattern came out with a diagonal look in the "corrected" column. I hope that I can work with the horizontal and when knitting, for some reason it'll come out diagonal? or should I work with the corrected one? (diagonal) In which case, duplicating the design to make it long enough will be a little difficult in order to maintain the design exactly the same. I think in this case I will have to come out with the right movements to the right or left, and check at the sides to maintain the proportions. I'm very anxious to start a little project, so I want to be sure which way to go. Thanks in advance. Best regards.
Fanny Moreno I have created all of my designs in the "Corrected" graph because it displays an image of what my design will look like. It sounds like you are knitting a flat garment. If this is correct then you may be able to create a design in the "Draft" graph and ignore or hide the "Corrected" graph since it is mainly for creating circular/tubular designs. A few months ago I began exploring photo crochet and CStitch is the software program I used to create a design for a flat garment. I'm still learning it, but from what I have seen, it may be a better program to create designs for flat garments. If you would like to see it, here is the link. You can upload a photo or create your own design. It's free to download and use. I hope it works out better than the JBead software. And I hope my answer was helpful:)
Thank you very much for your video but still I'm confused. Whay the corrected scheme shows a line of 6 and a line of 5 when they should be all 5 ?
Hello! Is there a version of jbead that lets you design spheres? For example, for a Christmas ball ornament?
Wow what a great tutrorial.makes it look so easy.thank you.
Thank you very much for the good video, and for sharing the link to download the program to make our own designs. Your tutorial is great. I already did download it and now I've made my first three designs. Hope to put them out in real life soon. Regards.
Fannitomo thanks for the wonderful comments. I'm glad you found my tutorial helpful. The fact that you made three designs with the Jbead software shows how much you learned and how easy the program is. And that makes sharing my knowledge well worth it. Keep up the good work:)
Thank you so much for this excellent video. I can't wait to install this program on my Mac and create an original design!
If anyone doesn’t like the speed, just change the playback speed settings
Fantastic! This is what I have been looking for..
+Parames Ramanathan I'm happy you found my tutorials and I hope you will enjoy them:)
thank you so very much..i enjoy your calm voice and great help! peace from Grace in vt
Hi. Thanks for the tutorial. Jbead now makes more sense. I'm still confused though that alternate rows on the middle graph have 6 beads. How does that work in a 5 bead round?
Hi Susannah Thomson
Thanks for the comment, your feedback is important to me. And your'e right, the middle graph also labeled as the "Corrected" graph does have an extra bead on every other row.
If you have ever crocheted an graphagan before, where all rows on the pattern graphs have an equal number of squares on each row, then I can see why the "Corrected" graph can be confusing.
The only way I can explain it is, if you were to crochet a tube/rope and then slice it open on one side, from top to bottom and lay it flat, it would resemble the "Corrected" graph. And this would be because it was crocheted in a spiral.
So, having 6 squares on alternating rows of a 5 bead graph is not an error on the "Corrected" graph. I hope this answers your question. Let me know if it doesn't:)
Lablun's Stitch Art
Thanks. I will give it a whirl!
Love your foxy cursor :-) ;-)
Bernadett Grega thanks for the comment. Your feedback is important to me. It helps me decide what works and what doesn't. I have watched video tutorials where the cursor was small and difficult to see. So, I used a cursor that's larger and easier to see. I hope it was helpful. Also, I'm not sure if it's a fox or a dog, but it sure is cute and I'm glad you like it:)
Excellent tutorial.
Tutorial was awesome...thank you so much🤗
Thank You, such valuable information. I really appreciate you.
Love the software but I want to use size 11 beads. Is there anyway to change the size of beads on the software from size 6 bead to size 11? That would be a big help finding out how many beads I need to string.
+Jan Kauer the software computes the number of beads required for your project, based on the width (number of beads per round) and the length of the rope/tube you are making. For example, I crochet with [size 6 beads] in [5 beads per round] to make a bracelet that is not too thick or too thin. And you are probably crocheting with 15 beads per round with your size 11 beads for a bracelet or necklace of similar thickness. You can change the width/height by clicking "Pattern" > "Width" or "Height", and enter the desired number. I hope this helps. Also I truly admire you for crocheting with size 11 beads, I have attempted it, but haven't been successful yet:)
very nice software and show.
O my God, thank you a lot. I was thinking to that you are talk to slow, but is for reason.. I like your video .
Thank you so much... It is really very helpful.
Just what I was looking for! Thanks.
Thank you for your tutorial. You made it very clear to understand. :-)
Can this software be downloaded on a Apple IPad Pro? I don’t have a Computer!
Thank you so much for sharing this!
Love it!absolute enlightening Thanks so much :-)
+Giusina Giusi it's been 3 months since you wrote such a wonderful comment on my video. Thanks so much!. And, I hope you have had the opportunity to create some beautiful designs. :)
Muy Interesante espero que en el futuro puedan verse subtítulos en español.
I'm having problems getting the entire pattern to print. I have 90 rows but they don't all print. Any suggestions?
Disculpe me ayudaría mucho este video pero no se ingles, como lo podría traduce, agradezco mucho sus atenciones
If I want to make a 6inch bracelet but use size 11 and Size 8 seed beads, I guess I'll have to set my pattern for 75 or 80. Can you please confirm? Many thanks!
+Joan O'Shaughnessy, yes you'll need to increase the number of rows on the Jbead "Draft" graph, when crocheting with smaller beads. To be precise, you could crochet a sample tube with enough rows to create a one inch tube. Keep count of the number of rows in the one inch tube, then multiple by 6 for a 6 inch bracelet. That's what I did to figure out how many rows were required when crocheting with size 6 beads. For example, if your one inch tube with size 11 beads has 15 rows in it, then you would multiple 15 x 6 for the number of rows your bracelet will require for a total of 90 rows. I have yet to crochet with size 11 beads. I found it very challenging. I haven't given up though. One day I'll give it another try. I very much admire you for crocheting with size 11 beads. You can create some seriously intricate designs with the size 11's. I hope my answer to your question was helpful.
Thank you again for your generous feedback and quick response!
Great tutorial, thank you
Thank you. Very helpful.

Hi
Thank you! This is an excellent tutorial!
Question - How did you know that 10 rows would be equivelent 1 inch in length? I would think the number of rows for an inch would be determined by the size of the bead. But how did you get to the number of rows as 10 per inch? Thank you for showing this.
