I think one point that is missed in this video is - there is no discussion what company expects from you while you are in internship. In India, for students internship actually means training but for company..internship is where you deliver something as well along with learning on the go.

Do they prefer the old black & white cv's that's suggested in the institute or a little colorful & bright cv's that are made using Canva and other softwares? Asking this specially for Marketing & HR roles.
Hello Priyotosh, I had similar doubts and even made some mistakes by sending template based resume to companies. Verdict: Not selected. The point here is the design of your CV doesn't matters much unless you are applying for design oriented positions like web designing, fashion etc. What matters is the content, your academic, extracurricular achievements, positions of responsibility, etc. And if you go for template based resume, you will end up exceeding 1 page, which is BIG NO. As a fresher and even after 6-7 yrs working, your resume should not exceed 1 page. Solution: Make your resume on MS word, by organising contents with the help of tables. You can go for colour schemes but maintain an order, like dark blue then shades of lighter blue for fonts and cell fill. You can remove outlines of tables if you wish. This way you can add maximum achievements in one page and in well structured way.

Honestly, the money shouldn't be a factor at all. Even the paid ones offer barely a couple thousand. It's better to focus on learning. Though I am personally of the believe no company should hire interns for free. It's not fair. But, if there is a good opportunity that is unpaid, go for it.
Hi Shweta, I am in muddle what to do in life. I did my bachelors in prosthetics and orthotics about which not many people are aware of. But after working for 3months in this field I realised that growth is stagnant here and I didn't really enjoyed the work profile offered. I was not satisfied with the work culture and environment there and so I decided to quit the job and field. Also none of the skills I acquired is relevant to help me get a job in any other sector. It is fairly important to have a good CV/profile because it will help you distinguish yourself from others during an interview. Having said that, a CAT aspirant shouldn't take up an internship in summers unless he/she can manage. You can always do one after your exam.

Hello Shita, No, we never have to pay any money to do internship. If any company or person asks you for money, then deny and look for other opportunities. In most of the case it's opposite, we intern with companies, learn and add some value in their organisation, so we get paid. But there are many internships which are unpaid and you only learn industry skills from them. If there is good learning opportunity and company isn't able to pay, then we should go with the internship as the primary focus of doing internships is to learn and know our compatibility with the role/ position. One of my didi once fell into same trap and ended up loosing few thousands. So I am trying to make you aware of the reality.

No, we never have to pay any money to do internship. If any company or person asks you for money, then deny and look for other opportunities. In most of the case it's opposite, we intern with companies, learn and add some value in their organisation, so we get paid. But there are many internships which are unpaid and you only learn industry skills from them. If there is good learning opportunity and company isn't able to pay, then we should go with the internship as the primary focus of doing internships is to learn and know our compatibility with the role/ position.
One of my didi once fell into same trap and ended up loosing few thousands. So I am trying to make you aware of the reality.
