My personal experience- I was on the edge to lose my admission seat, B.E. from BITS Pilani, HC because I didn't check my mail for online verification on meet, of my documents. I mailed each prof, the deans, director, the admission team and to every possible mail id of a respectable person working in the university for nearly 10 days, spammed some people too and got my seat back!! This happened last year Nov. 2020!
I started out with LinkedIn DMs in the first year of college. Had zero knowledge and nothing on my resume. But landed work at The New York Times in Delhi. Today, 3 years later, I have contributed reporting in 3 articles that were published at the New York Times. Cold contacting really does work. For me, it might not have worked 300 times but it worked one time and completely changed the game and my gave my career a huge lift off!

A tip i can give that I've tried doing is i made a 90-120sec long video summarising the whole task, Instead of writing a 500 word mail and wasting time reading i attached a gdrive link of the video and gave a pretext of the video and sent it, waited for couple of days and then i was called in for an interview.

I used the last point/way (Sharing the work sample) 2 years ago...I was applying for Graphic designer post. So, instead of sending a regular resume, I sent a graphically designed resume. When I was making and sending it, I knew in my mind that it will trigger response for sure and I will surely get a call. And just in two days I got a call from the Recruiter of that company.

I don't understand why many organisations ask people WHY SHOULD WE HIRE YOU AS AN INTERN? Majority of the college students are on the journey of finding the suitable career which is why they are applying for that particular internship. We also don't know why we should be hired 😂😂 usi sawal ka jawaab dhundne k liye toh internship kr rhe hai. Yes that question is valid for some experienced folks but internships are generally for gaining knowledge only so there is only one reason that we want to gain knowledge/experience so we are applying for the post. It's a request to all the firms that don't ask any college student why should you hire them.

@warikoo Great tips sir. I really believe in them. Also just to make cold emailing and engaging with their content more fruitful, join one of their sessions or something to get an opportunity to talk to them. I personally wanted to just connect with a gamer to get feedback on my startup idea and I literally participated in each of his live streams and eventually he noticed me and connected with me. Just remember if you don't message them first or email them or engage with them, you won't connect with them!! There is nothing to lose. There is just a slight probability of successfully connecting with them!

@warikoo Great tips sir. I really believe in them. Also just to make cold emailing and engaging with their content more fruitful, join one of their sessions or something to get an opportunity to talk to them. I personally wanted to just connect with a gamer to get feedback on my startup idea and I literally participated in each of his live streams and eventually he noticed me and connected with me.
Just remember if you don't message them first or email them or engage with them, you won't connect with them!! There is nothing to lose. There is just a slight probability of successfully connecting with them!
