Listened to this via the audio podcast version on Spotify. Enjoyed it very much. Always nice to learn that more people are adding to needle-felting medium as art. It has been challenging, as a needle-felt tapestry 'painter' artist, always having to explain to people what this medium is, how it is made, and to enforce that it has the same value (monetary) as an oil painting/traditional artwork. It was nice to hear about Holly's background, and learning about sheep and how wool is magical and amazing! What beautiful shading she uses in her dimensional sheep pieces. The natural white should fit in well with the current modern design/homes. Best of luck to you Holly, and thank you very much Gail for producing such worthwhile and interesting interviews!
Aww that's great. Thanks for listening and we're so glad you enjoyed it. Holly is a brilliant artist and thankfully she is keeping the medium very much in focus. x
i am in my final year at alberta university of the arts, AUarts (not a joke thats the name) working on my BFA in the College of Craft and Emerging arts as a fiber major. i felt the exact same thing when i walked into the fiber department, i was home. when i first warped my first full sized loom i lost all track of time, i was there 6 hours, no music, no videos, just thread and loom.
