    I live in Post Falls, Idaho, over a far flung part of the Yellowstone magma chamber far below. Most folks don't realize how very, very large this magma chamber is. And yeah, most of it is very deep down and, for the most part, stable (for now, anyway). And I don't really worry about Yellowstone blowing up anytime soon, or at least in my lifetime, because this is a live volcano that "breathes", in that it is regularly releasing steam/super heated water from it's magma chamber. The surface of the current caldera, which surrounds Yellowstone Lake, rises and falls on a pretty regular basis. Pressure builds and the land of the caldera basin rises, then pressure is released, and the land subsides again. It's been doing this for hundreds of thousands of years and no significant changes have been found since it's been monitored on an hourly basis.

    Two problems: 1, there is a string of supervolcanic explosions following what's now the Yellowstone hotspot going back 17 million years, not mentioned in the video.
    2, the Yellowstone caldera system is a whole lot larger than the comparably tiny Prismatic Spring shown in the video, which I might describe as deceptive imagery.

      You see, unlike science fiction stories, in which nuclear weapons seem to be the cause of, and solution to, many geological catastrophes, science fact tells us that you aren't likely to trigger a Yellowstone cataclysm with a nuclear weapon. How do we know? It's because this experiment has already been tried.
      [ www.usgs.gov/observatories/yvo/news/can-a-nuclear-blast-trigger-a-yellowstone-eruption-no-how-about-earthquake#:~:text=You%20see%2C%20unlike%20science%20fiction,cataclysm%20with%20a%20nuclear%20weapon. ]

      There is a possibility but you will need to drill down at least a mile and place the nukes which would be impossible to hide.

      Volcanoes do not work in predictable ways and their eruptions do not follow predictable schedules. Even so, the math doesn’t work out for the volcano to be “overdue” for an eruption. In terms of large explosions, Yellowstone has experienced three at 2.08, 1.3, and 0.631 million years ago. This comes out to an average of about 725,000 years between eruptions. That being the case, there is still about 100,000 years to go, but this is based on the average of just two time intervals between the eruptions, which is meaningless. [www.usgs.gov/faqs/yellowstone-overdue-eruption-when-will-yellowstone-erupt]
      Also please learn the difference between a kilometer and a mile.

    Just put a fan above it and when it blows up which you might be able to do you can use the volcanic energy and harvest it. Would be very efficient.

    It’s overdue, like the big asteroid, like the 9.5 earthquake….

      Not really comparable to an asteroid considering it will only wipe out the US. Asia, Eastern Europe and Australia will be untouched.

    The Yellowstone caldera could blow at any time; but we are still most likely a few thousand years away from it.

    Imagine if a rogue nation is stupid enough to be the first to launch a nuke, what would happen if a nuke, or two would hit Yellowstone, not only would we have a volcanic fallout, but a nuclear fallout with it, YIKES !

    Yes, RUclips; Yellowstone erupting would cause short term climate change, but a whole lot of much larger problems as well.

      🍅So this is the magic word you need to search🔍.
      Start with "H", then 🅰️, put an ®️ after it, then ®️ again, put a "I" after it and ending the word with an "💲".
      Give a space
      Write 💲 then "U" followed by "L" then "T", put an "🅰️" after it and end the word with "N".

    Nah. US Geological Maps say different. Sure the surrounding area would be buried. When you travel out a couple of hundred miles the ash would be able to be cleaned off. From Chicago East would be unscathed. Would crops be affected? Sure. The world would have very short summers for a few years.

    • @MyNamesHunter75
      @MyNamesHunter75 5 месяцев назад

      Short summers aren't a good thing that affects food production massively the reason the us can produce so much food is due to it's climate along with volcanic ash being damage to breathe in would kill off a lot of livestock realty is we simply cannot predict how bad it would be because at best it's a hypothesis and mother nature isn't something that is exactly readable we have a rough idea of what could happen but the true effects we simply have never experienced in modern day that would could accurately gauge the effects plus it would change the global climate regardless which impacts significantly more than just the us and would include the eastern side of the continent. crops being affected is a really bad thing as well because not only would buying food get significantly more expensive

    • @superbirden57
      @superbirden57 5 месяцев назад

      Yes, I understand that. The 1815 explosion of MT Tambora, is he well documented cause of the 1816 "Year without a summer"
      The thing is governments understand that too. Hydroponic gardens, Victory gardens, even gardens in covered raise beds mean a year round or at least an extended growing season. If you want a better apocalyptic dream please consider a modern version of the 1859 CME and solar flare. It almost happened in July 2012 but the Earth was in a different place in its orbit. No electricity worldwide for months, maybe years. 90% world wide population deaths
