- Welcome to the Yu-Gi-Oh Character Roulette! Each week @MBTYuGiOh and I will spin a wheel to build a deck from packs featuring cards used by anime characters throughout Yu-Gi-Oh's history, and then we’ll craft 1 card of each rarity from our pack to round out our decks. After a character’s pack wins the match it’s removed from the wheel, while the losing pack is given a second chance at victory! Tune in every weekend for new episodes of Character Roulette!

I'm convinced by this game that Doug doesn't actually need glasses, but he wears them so his vision is too blurry to read his cards properly

At least he's no gage & in my defense so many master duel players don't read just today I played a game against some duelist the instance I attacked they flipped the mirror force & I chained set imperm in the same to the right to negate the mirror in the same column as the monster I'm like I'm glad it's in the same zone now I don't have to wait a turn to resummon the horus also keep in mind when you recycle black stone you can't tribute it the same turn I messed that up too many times we need a red-eyes structure deck I want the animation when Master Duel they are most UR vanilla & fusions.

I am impressed how Joseph manages to sound _less_ German with each passing Valkyrie spin. I say put in on every character wheel all the way through VRAINS just so we can see how long it'll take for Joseph to go insane

What's funny is that the scenario you are describing has happened before, in the Vylon vs Toon Master Roulette.
The funny thing about the 3 characters on the wheel this episode is that Joey lost to both of them
and ironically he could've beaten both of them but due to plot they made him lose cause one had to fight agaist kaiba and Marik is too attached to the god cards plot

My Grandfather smoked his whole life. I was about 10 years old when my mother said to him, "If you ever want to see your grandchildren graduate, you have to stop immediately." Tears welled up in his eyes when he realized what exactly was at stake. He gave it up immediately. Three years later he died of lung cancer. It was really sad and destroyed me. My mother said to me- "Don't ever smoke. Please don't put your family through what your Grandfather put us through." I agreed. At 28, I have never touched a cigarette. I must say, I feel a very slight sense of regret for never having done it, because Joseph's german impression gave me cancer anyway.

It's so fun to see one of my favorite duels happen in real life, with the canon ending of "Joey" screwing up his plays.
Why did MBT let Brunhilde get destroyed in battle? Brunhilde has three abilities- can't be affected by the opponent's spell cards, gets 500 attack for every monster the opponent controls, but most importantly, she can reduce her defense points to make her and the other Valkyries indestructible by battle. In the anime her weakness was that the defense reduction needed to be done after every attack, and Kaia had five monsters, but in real life, according to the judge at locals, it only needed to be done once during the turn and protected Brunhilde and her fellow Valkyries for the ENTIRE rest of the turn, but unlike the anime, her defense points aren't restored at the next turn. (Meaning she can only protect everyone twice before she's destroyed.)

I've watched this episode four times already. I love MBT's German accent but Dzeeff messing up with Red Eyes Sword and MBT screwing up the screw up goes right up there with Dotodoya misreading OG Big Eye's flip effect as the most entertaining blunder I've ever seen.
We talk a lot about doug's misplays, but can we talk about how terribly mbt played valkyries? There were so many plays that he did which just accomplished nothing, and also just not utilizing his card effects? Like not activating the trap in the first game to stop doug from running over him by battle, not just immediately running over the slash dragon (what was he afraid of? The search?) or not using brunhilde's effect to also protect by battle in the last duel.
Yeah he won but thats only because doug threw harder.

I don't expect them to understand how to play the decks. Dougs misplay on the sword is just much funnier.
@Merilirem you dont have to know how to play the deck the game literally gives you prompts for the two battle scenarios i mentioned. Mbt purposefully said no to brunhilde's free battle protection.
Immediately running over slash would have lost him the game due to black metal searching chain. What he could have done was tribute gellenduo for Krystia on the turn he switched it to attack mode instead of attacking with Gellenduo, which would have prevented the Slash's revival effect.
Wow every time i think doug can't possibly outdo himself, he does it again! Game 2 was definitely one of the games that happened

6:24 I actually played maple maiden as a very weird and stupid way to out dragoon back when he was popping up constantly. I played a deck that could easily make synchro 7’s and didn’t know dracolich existed.
Going in to these Dzeeff videos, I always expect at least SOME form of misplay, but never in a thousand years did I ever expect "Equip Red Eyes Sword to your opponent" levels of misplay
Everytime a pack loses, it should get an additional set of packs. Maybe 5 if 10 is too many.
Oftentimes a deck losing might be due to unlucky pulls or going up against a strong pack, the next time the pack is chosen the pulls might be much better against a much worse pack. For those reasons, I don’t think a losing pack needs extra packs.
MAYBE one additional pack at max, but really I don’t think it’s needed.
As bad as Red-Eyes is, I still wasn't expecting it to lose to Valkyries. It's canon now: Valkyries > Red-Eyes, but playing either of them? Not even once.
Although, that double battle phase OTK strat is kinda hot. If I were to build this in Master Duel, we would need what? A bunch of Board Breakers to pair up with the Maxx "C" minigame set? Droplets, Raigekis or Lightning Storms, Talents and Thrust? But then you would have to pull Valkryies, just not worth it.
This isnt even a red eyes loss. Its a doug loss
@@LuminousOriens Still counts! Vallkyries > Red-Eyes per the premise of the series, and it couldn't have happened to a better deck.
Valkyries actually do relatively competently as a pure going-second strategy if you load up on enough staples to stop plays, mostly because you really only need to Special Sechste to build an entire endboard (just Erda), plus opening Ride means that getting 4K on board is all you need to win, which is not difficult for Valkyries. 3/4 of the Normal Summon-able Valkyries are actually just combo starters on their own. With the exception of Memento and their 5K boss, it can be really hard to out a Valkyrie-summoned Erda (who is just Macro Cosmos on legs, btw), especially when paired with the Goddess set of cards, Urd's Verdict protecting Valkyrie mons from targeting and destruction. You ALWAYS want to walk in with Vierte to Special Sechste. It's what the deck does!!!
They're really not bad, but you have to know what Valkyrie cards are the good cards for what they're trying to do, which is just purely OTKing and nothing else. A lot of people go into Valkyries trying to build for the grind game when it is just incapable of that.
TL;DR, it's literally Tenpai.
Valkyries been played 3 times now and no one managed to activate Sweet Revenge except Doug in the wheel. No matter what happens he still has that accomplishment.

ahh, that wasn't a misplay, that was totally strategic (for next week)
Everyone mentioning the pure carbon monoxide poisoning of dougs brain with the sword but nobody mentions the fact that joseph left it on field for like 50 turns and then outed his own out to slash dragon
So, an idea I just had would be to make it so loser packs get either a few more packs or an extra craft of 1 card SR or below for every time it lost so that the bad decks end up not being the absolute last thing on the wheel.
This would make it less predictable what deck would be last instead of it being really obvious at maximum as soon as we see the pack and at minimum as soon as we see it on the wheel
My final answer is C Crushcards.
Just wanna say how appreciative I am for your content. You and the gang have inspired me to be a better player in general. Coming back from 15 years not playing is a huge learning curve and I'm thankful I've found your content 🙏

Doug indeed threw very hard. Then Joseph proceeded to throw almost just as hard for the next like 5 turns.
Oh and it would have been lethal if you kept chain. Not only could you attack twice. Next turn You could have chained Fang With Chain to Valkyrie Embrace effect, stealing the targeted monster leaving Embrace with no Valkyrie to target.
Doug if we continue this series into later Yugioh Gens, maybe keep the worst pack into later generations, figure out, definitively who's the worst duelist in the franchise. Probably Valkyries 😂
As more and more is removed from the wheel due to victories and the like, it kind of sucks seeing the same weak pack being played over and over (since the odds of playing it keep increasing) and knowing its not going to put on a good show. Yeah, eventually it'll be matched against a not so good pack just like itself and make for an interesting watch, but until then it's kind of eh.
MBT shouldve switched the game to german to try and pronounce the names in german,

Voting before watching past the spins: Valkyries win because of an Anime moment, where a Valkyrie card has a secret second effect (aka Doug didn't read the card past the first couple lines)

Can someone explain why he didn’t summon the archlord kristya by tributing over gellenduo 36:47 because i kept seeing it glow and could not understand why he didn’t play it unless he didn’t realise gellenduo counted as two tributes…
I would be really upset if they don’t continue this series through the other YGO series. I wouldn’t watch it if it just goes through even more side characters of this mid quality anime.
Maybe next season, the cards that you craft automatically get added to the pulls for that pack until it wins, so if you craft like Valhalla in the valk pack, next time the pack is pulled it automatically gets 1 Valhalla

Can you make an event where after the pack draws, you and the second player have a chance to trade cards without revealing your pulls? It would then make each match a true Tradign card game.

As a red-eyes enjoyer, this episode was painful to watch. I haven't ever physically cringed at a series of duels as much as in this video.
You put maple maiden in the Speedroid extra deck as a banish off rubber band shooter's effect!!! It is very specific
MBT felt bad doug misplayed that he decided to not read gellenduo and realize it can be used for two tributes for a fairy monster and the game was over.
I think what you should do in the end is make a loser bracket from each anime: each remaining character from each anime fight each other to see who is the ultimate loser.
