I saw the packs and thought it would be a quick 2-0 for Doug... Then I saw the video was almost an hour long. MBT played insanely well considering the cards he was given.
MBT might not be the best top level player but he's played so many decks and archetypes (both good and bad) from his video series that he probably knows more about playing jank decks then any other Yugituber
He prob could if won when he summoned monk to stall what he should of done was summon princess he'd of still survived and the next turn when he drew nothing he could of set monk, Doug has 0 outs to that card and would have to attack it don't die as all his monsters are beaters and he'd have to wait most likely the next turn to pop it giving MBT a turn where even if he bricked again he'd have a synchro play and would of outed Doug's board and even possibly could have won that turn. Still amazing episode
I love how ppl in doug's chat are "DOUG, DONT FORGET CHICKEN GAME" and doug immediately proceeds to forget about chicken game. Its even better when there's the akward silence and then MBT also realizes it. This is peak yugioh content.

In my view, Ice Barrier has to be one of the biggest what if’s in Yu-Gi-Oh. If on initial release had the main deck monsters worked with the extra deck monsters in anyway this deck could’ve been crazy. 2 of the 4 original Ice Barrier synchros were so strong, Brionac and Dewloren, they were on the banlist and had to be errata’d before they could come back. Plus, nothing really needs to be said about Trishula. That card was a house all on its own.
Imagine swordsoul and ice barrier were reversed in release order, considering the power level back then swordsoul could be the meme archtype with OP bosses but little in archtype way to summon them and ice barrier would be tier 1 wrecking master duel and tcg
Oh you are a 100% right, some of the best lore and artwork to this day, widely beloved even though they are bad, and didnt need much to be good or atleast decent. they just needed some synergy besides the "if you control another ice barrier, you get this neat but ultimately worthless bonus". they just needed some special summons, searchers, extenders and they would have been beyond fun. Just look at Dragunities, basically their counterpart
And unfortunately they had to get cursed with the shitty lore reason that they can't work with the synchros bc the main deck monsters were trying to keep the dragon sealed up

Right before this episode dropped i was wondering when will they pull the ice barrier pack, i am beyond satisfied with mbt's performance with it, i would've preffered it winning but i understand the deck´s limitations. the archtype its so fun, finding these lines with those barelly functioning cards its just amazing. this archtype truelly deserves more.

Cosmic Mechanical Entities refer to the lore of the Mekks being powered by the World legacies which are powered by the world itself and the Krawler's roles as the ones who basically forcefully herded humans to groups and lowered their numbers so that the world heals
Since getting a royal rare is such a insanely rare event, y'all should add a extra bonus to it like if you get a royal you can open 1 extra pack, or craft 1 low rarity card. Or something.
Next eps, we need to ban seeing the card content inside the pack and guessing they're good or not based only from it's pack name. I think it will add more interesting twist in this series.
