I went to verdun a couple years ago and been fascinated about ww1 ever since the place is unreal amd really shows you at least a little of how horrible it must have been for those men
And what you are finding is just on the surface, what must lay in covered in shell holes is mind boggling..many an unfortunate I'm sure,we can't imagine the hell those places once were.. fascinating video and a very poignant find with the mess tin and his initials on it,was it dropped or does he lay beneath.. we'll never know
Incroyable video.
it's amazing how many things are still there! One question, is collecting WW1 items (obviously i'm not referring to the ammunition) legal in France? Are you subject to any regulations?
In many ways their sacrifices have lead to a better world. Yet much of the attitudes that lead to the breakout of that conflict, and all the bloodshed that came after, remain to this day within human kind. Waiting to burst out. We have within us the ability to wage war to feed our sense of superiority and greed. But we also have within us the potential to control those more hostile urges, and to use that energy instead to reach out peacefully and work together to build a better world for all who inhabit, and all who will inherit this planet. Its up to us to choose wisely.
I don't know the situation in that place, but according to wwii next to personal belongings and small arms often lie skeletons. I hope that a wwi search is developed in France.
That is ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING !!
Millions of ordnance, fragments not to mention human lives that dyed and suffered there …such a waste 😢😢😢
"Died"
And we don't seem to learn from it

What a great job shooting the video! You made me feel like I was there right helping you guys spot artifacts.
Thanks a lot for your comment. That's why I love making videos on my outings ;)
Cool videos. What do you do with all the relics you find? I had relatives at the Somme on both sides.

Brokenness from a broken world
These videos are awesome

Merci beaucoup ! Il y en aura des autres 😇
It’s actually my dream to go to a ww1 battle field and go digging.
We are not digging, only picking artefacts on the floor !
@@histoirekeoWho moved the ground? Some heavy machine was there
@@iTzMeGusta. Farmers ploughed field.
Crazy how they just plow right over live ammunition and bombs
I read once that on average two farmers, or workmen are killed annually by accidental contacts with old munitions.
So satisfying
Thanks a lot !
Merci beaucoup

This is all so true😱 the things you can still find, even without a metal detector. I was at Beaucourt Hamel and you can just see it all
Yes, in fact as you can see, without metal detector, the finds are very abundant

Imagine going detecting there
Those "musket balls"... are those from some type of canister shot artillery round?
Most likely from an artillery shell.
They are shrapnel balls packed into shells for airbursts.
Do you use a Metal detector any time ?
Even thow you might have tried to keep your video free from disturbing images i have seen some bone fragments flashing by just for the record...
Where is this
Will the French authorities let you keep the things you find on the battlefield?
human remains ⁉️
someone plowed that field when it was way too wet
yes, the farmer did it... That's why there are lots of finds on the surface
why has nothing grown there?
@katenickels617
It’s a ploughed field
