1:06 that is an active mills bomb covered in mud, I can tell by the base plug design and part of the plunger is showing, if the base plug is still in that shows it is likely still active and because it has likely rusted through, any parts stopping the charge from detonating may no longer function meaning it could explode any time. This type of grenade was used by allied forces. The same goes for those at 5:02
The Iowa boy of me says, "good soil, a bit too much clay though" and the US Marine infantryman of me says "dayum, it must have really sucked crossing that terrain against prepositioned artillery and machine guns." When you start seeing buttons and belt buckles, that means alot more than just spent cartridges and shrapnel.
I think the farmer would be understanding if the mills bombs can be at least flagged😉 A chopstick and red electric tape won't damage equipment 😊 Good lad picking up the lead balls from shrapnel shells
@@histoirekeo very sad, im 14 and authorized and i also found ww1 relics near a battle (authorized by my dad, and im using it only when he is around) im talking about a detector :)

It's been hit by a plough a hundred times. If it was going to explode it would have done.

I am extremely envious of your location..
The sacrifices our forefathers made for the political elites financial gain is heartbreaking. Lest we forget ❤

In Respect Of The Dead Men I Shal Salut You Luscious!
Thanks for watching and the comment 😊
Pretty eerie to find a guy's tooth just laying there in pristine condition.
Obviously not a British tooth.
To me, the buckles, buttons, and especially the tooth, suggests there are human remains on that field.
Its the Somme, there are remains of tens of thousand on those fields.
It must of taken hours to deduct that Sherlock
No sh1t
mais est-il possible de chercher avec un détecteur de métaux dans les champs de somme ou avez-vous besoin d'une autorisation ?
I like the music
where is the exact location if this place ?
De belle trouvaille 👌

Great ! I wish you were not on the somme with your metal detector ?!
@@histoirekeo sadly i wish i were there, since some relics also are on the ground, but i dont live in france :(
Ohh... Where do you live bro ?
Good video but ruined by dreadful and inappropriate fashion parade music which does nothing for the content nor grimness of the video.
Somber music needed
Salut c quel secteur sa?
Salut c'est dans la Somme, je n'en dirai pas plus
Pourqoui t'as pris rien avec toi?
kill the hideous background music not necessary
Very cool and sad to see that the shrapnel balls and bullets are still pretty much on the surface
Thanks 🙏
