I can't believe it's been that long since I first heard this song. Hope has a kind of genuine melancholy sensuality, an indescribable shy charismatic magnetism. For me there is no composer more talented and beautiful than this magnificent woman, she is really a genius, she is one of those out-of-the-box, passionate people, Hope is certainly my spiritual totem ❤️ I really don't know what would have happened to my life without her music, she gives me peace on dark days, comforts me in sadness and takes me into an ethereal world in my moments of peace. I think everyone should meet Hope and get carried away by her sweet voice, she is art in its purest form, Hope is life in a state of contemplation that goes beyond words ❤️

I can relate to her shyness as the person experiencing it let me tell you it sucks so bad. The harder you try to pull out of it the more awkward you look and feel. I'm so happy for her that she found ways to work through it. Most ppl this shy will never bring their talents to the world's stage no matter how great they are.

God I love this woman’s voice.
Her vocals are very dream like. You feel them, yet not always understand them upon th first time you have listened.
Yet I some ethereal way your inner being understands, through felling, gets it all. Sound for sound.
The angelic quality in her vocal ability is simply magnificent. She has the power to take a listener to that place normally reserved for a warm enchanting dreamscape. That's the best way I can describe how I feel when I listen to Hope Sandoval. That experience is incredibly captivating and the tail end of THIS song is indeed so full of allure and charms I don't want it to end. Absolutely extraordinary!! Bravo!!!

This is a lady who glides as she walks, this alone is beautiful and it gets better. In the opening seconds we see her opening double doors after double doors, gently, not shoving them and leaving them to swing but keeping a gentle hand on each one until she has them opened. I imagine her opening a conversation in the same gentle manner.
At 0:22 we see her getting out of a Mercedes sedan that could be from 1973. This car was a superb choice for her to be seen getting out of. These cars were comfortable, gentle, elegant, and complex, with pleasing details. I feel we could say the same about Hope Sandoval.
Her gentle ways shine through again as we see her close the car door, not swing and slam, but a gentle guiding, if you please, of the door until it latches. Such gentleness with these doors and such gentle, soothing tones from her voice, and such gentle lyrics make this gifted performer a person we can all learn from.

Except that isn't Mazzy Star's first album. But only the first one by them that you had heard, because it had a song that was being played to death by college radio and MTV. That album was their second. The first one was all the way back in 1990, and it had only two trippy/psy songs, whereas the second is the one that was wholly trippy/psy. I bet you've never even listened to Opal, in which Hope had her first big break (having first played in her teen band Going Home) after Kendra Smith left. And what 'guys'? Mazzy Star guys are not the Warm Inventions guys.
