- I have officially ridden Iron Gwazi at Busch Gardens Tampa and made a review, but is it better than Steel vengeance at Cedar Point? I think these are two of the best roller coasters in the world, but which one is the best? Was Coaster Studios right when he said Iron Gwazi was worth the wait? Let's find out!

Honestly surprised by this decision, but glad you feel good about it! I’m predicting that 90% of people who have Steel Vengeance as number 1 will still love Iron Gwazi, and acknowledge that it’s a better ride element for element. However, that doesn’t take away that Steel Vengeance still has great elements, and has a ton more. For the sheer duration difference without a massive dip in element by element quality, I think most people will maintain SteVe at the top of their lists. Regardless, super stoked for IG and so glad you enjoyed it enough to crown a new #1!
I’m surprised too! It took serious thinking, but Iron Gwazi pulls much more unique and powerful forces.

I value a long ride. Not just “quantity over quality” but if one is more intense but the other is still top notch and longer, I’m going with that one.
Have yet to ride either. Getting on Gwazi in April. I think it’ll take my number one spot. I think SteVe will take it back once I finally get on it.

Iron Gwazi looks truly incredible and different for an RMC, the mix of elements is just amazing and in my opinion, it looks beautiful. It’s so amazing to have this coaster at my home park.

We all have our preferences when it comes to rollercoasters. Iron Gwazi definitely looks like another great rollercoaster built by RMC. I've ridden Storm Chaser and Steel Vengeance both are in my top 5 rollercoasters currently but I prefer Steel Vengeance because it's longer along with other factors. Length of a rollercoaster doesn't always dictate which coaster I believe is better because I prefer Orion over Millennium Force and Millennium Force is longer unlike comparison of Iron Gwazi and Steel Vengeance. It typically comes down to which ride I enjoy more on a coaster that dictates which coaster gets my vote. Similar to comparing Thunderbird to GateKeeper (2 B&M coasters) both are great coasters GateKeeper being longer and a little faster but Thunderbird has that launch in the beginning and that's the reason I prefer Thunderbird over GateKeeper. I'm looking forward to seeing and hearing more opinions from people as 2022 moves forward.

They are both amazing and it is tough to put this above Steel Vengeance, but I just have to.
I know it's gonna be tough for me to measure. I'll be heading to Florida in December to try Iron Gwazi. I'll only be at BGTB for one day and I'll be lucky if I get to ride it more than 3 times. On the flip side, I've been on Steel Vengeance at least 15 times--at night, day, front, back, etc. So, making it an equal comparison when I haven't gotten to experience both on the same level will definitely make it challenging to score. I'm excited either way.

My biggest complaint is a roller coaster coming to an abrupt stop from so much speed. If you have that much speed coming into a brake run, then your pacing was not good enough. IG could have maybe tangled and intertwined within itself some more to run that speed down just a little bit more. It's really hard to give it the win off that alone. It's a phenomenal ride and desperately was needed in the south but the RMC king is still Steel Vengeance.
That is fair, but I didn’t feel that the stop was too abrupt personally and was quite surprised by that.

I thought the outer bank on gwazi was waaay better than the outer bank on Steve, more intense which I like
It was a bit more intense, but I think the floater on Steel Vengeance was a bit better so the two elements are about even for me
Completely mind blown by Steel Vengeance when I rode it...long ride and that going in and out the structure was absolutely incredible!...I have Steel my #1 coaster pretty clear...but I'm going to Florida in July....look forward to this ride..I'm sure it will be right up there with SteVe when I get off 👍👍
I was blown away by Steel Vengeance as well, but I was even more blown away by Iron Gwazi.

At the end of Iron Gwazi still had the adrenaline and wanted more
Steel Vengeance drained it before reaching the end
The 41% Increase in Length (more if ignoring the lift hill and station of both rides) is what gives it to SV for me although Iron Gwazi has better elements and is a bit more intense.

On point analysis and review. Personally and after riding G-woz, SV tops it only so slightly, but it does best LROD. But for me, the true #1 RMC is Zadra… if you love G-woz’s speed and pacing, your gonna go nuts on Zadra’s
I haven’t ridden Zadra, but I would agree from what I’ve seen that it looks like it may be the best of them all.
Seems like Iron Gwazi is definitely one of the best. I'm not sure which I would prefer.

I can't believe it. Ever since Eric rode Steel Vengeance, he believed it was the world's best coaster with a passion! I guess he finally rode his entire 1-2 punch of coasters the world's ever seen.
I never imagined this could bear Steel Vengeance, but it did.
I...actually agree. Wow. IG > SteVe. That layout completely makes up for the ride time difference. It's one of the most unique ones for sure. I'm excited for Arie Force One. Loved both the IG comp vids. Earned a new sub with this work.

I went in expecting Iron Gwazi to not be as good as Steel Vengeance and was so shocked by the intensity and pacing that I think I actually like Iron Gwazi more.
That’s exactly how I felt. I never imagined that something could beat Steel Vengeance but I feel that Iron Gwazi did.
Alright Cedar Point... time to build a #1 coaster that no one can argue against

Been on 16 RMC's. The top 3 are my top 3 overall coasters. I have Steel Vengeance at #1, Lightning Rod at #2, and Iron Gwazi at #3. Gwazi's strengths are the drop (2nd best on a RMC, behind only Iron Rattler), Pacing, The Death Roll (A top 3 inversion- I do prefer the last inversion on Velocicoaster), and the wave turn (Only Twisted Cyclone' can come close). The last drop is great in the back as well. The stall could be better. The stalls on Goliath, Twisted Colossus, and even joker are all better than Iron Gwazi's. The air time is much better on Steel Vengeance than Iron Gwazi overall. I prefer the outer bank on SV over IG without question.

I am typically a person who prefers a sensation of speed and a lot of intensity and G force rather than airtime over and over again
I rode Steel Vengeance and it is super fun but I still would rather ride Iron Gwasi than Steel Vengeance

Velocicoaster is better it's all around good ride
VelociCoaster is amazing and has some stronger elements, but the sensations I felt on Iron Gwazi were something special to me.
You know what is crazy? It is possible that for how RMC topped themselves that quickly, it wouldn’t be too long until Iron Gwazi gets topped as well.
That is crazy. It could have been a 1 year gap if not for delays.
@@ThemeParkAvenue Are you sure? I thought Steel Vengeance opened in 2018. Iron Gwazi was originally planned for 2020.

SV is much Superior ... at 1 foot taller going for it IG is shorter length/time with much less inversions & and G's! It's still a formidable coaster ... but it ain't Steel Vengeance 😎🍀
Fair points. I love both and it’s close, but my rides on IG were so amazing.
I think without trims STEVE is slightly better, but with trims I'd probably say Iron Gwazi is a little better, both are world class and have different strengths and weaknesses.
The brake run is something that slightly slows down SteVe for sure.

No, I promise it’s because I prefer the ride experience of Iron Gwazi. I didn’t go in expecting Iron Gwazi to be better, but I strongly believe that it was a better ride experience. No recency bias here!
In my opinion Zadra in Poland is the best rollercoaster in the world.
I can’t say for sure as I’ve ridden, but it almost definitely rivals both of these rides.
So to further prove your point, I am biased towards my home park which is Cedar Point, and I think Iron Gwazi destroyed Steel Vengeance. There was no competition

There is no mcbr on IG from what I could tell. The coaster looks relentless… I want to plan a trip to Florida for this and Velocicoaster!

I think wicked cyclone is the best. I cant rate something becuase its longer i can only rate off what the ride is. Thats the best ride while your on it

Steel Vengance imo was OBVIOUSLY the better ride.
I respect that. I personally preferred the pacing of Iron Gwazi.
I can’t make a comparison because I have only ridden SV, but I’m getting an I-305 feel. A coaster that wowed the enthusiasts because of how super intense it was, but eventually may wear thin on the GP because of its intensity. Ever since El Toro Ryan mentioned graying out, it hit me that this may be a lot for the GP.

That’s a good comparison! I don’t think the ride is as intense as I395 and I definitely like it more, but it is possible that it will lose popularity over time.
I respectfully disagree. Iron Gwazi comes no where close to the amount of positives that i305 pulls. While intense, I found Gwazi to be very re rideable. Also this is the only RMC in Florida which will help maintain it's popularity in the area. I mean just look at Zadra. That's been out for three years now and people still love it.

I love both, but I honestly do prefer Iron Gwazi.
I know this is controversial but my #1 is maverick, ive gone to kings island, kings dominion, and cedar point, but i almost didnt even get to ride it because it was closed all day until the last two and a half hours where (in those 2.5 hours) i got on steel vengeance 1 time and maverick twice LOVE U CEDAR POINT

Idk how the element could be better? Most rmc borrow elements from other ones so saying one has better elements makes no sense. Also these two rides are going for completely different things.
Like any manufacturer, of course some elements are similar to those of RMCs, however, so many of the moments provide very unique forces. Also, I think the fact that these rides go for different things is exactly why I prefer one to the other, but they are still comparable in awesomeness.

It's a great comparison, SV and IG are incredible but i don't get why it always seems like lots of enthusiasts talk about the world like if it was just the US... I mean, also Zadra exists along with Wildfire and Haukugei.
(And i'm saying this cause lots of pepole consider zadra to be better then SV and it is considered to be the most intense RMC)
There are other great rides, but from what I’ve ridden around the world, these are my two favorite rides. I have been to some international and overseas parks.

Cause it's really not that different from IG , ig has slightly more elements but zadra has a pacing like no other with really intense forces

Iron gwazi is without a doubt a beast of a ride! I cannot put into words how good this ride is! Truly incredible and smooth, the drop, the lift, everything!

Maybe I’m mad that I know that I probably won’t go to Florida anytime soon and I can’t ride velocicoaster or gwazi but I think steel vengeances longer ride and better airtime makes the ride look better to me

It depends on the person. I live Steel Vengeance for its abundant airtime and long but well-paced experience. Iron Gwazi is in my opinion better for its more forceful elements.

I honestly wish the notion of anything needing to be “the best” would die. It’s completely subjective and these rides should be able to stand out for their own qualities.
You’re right! However, jus ringworm that my favorite ride and the best ride I’ve ridden are pretty interchangeable terms for me. I am not saying you must follow my way of thinking, I’m just comparing two rides and declaring which one I like better.

IMO I believe this should be the best in North America not the world. Zadra probably would be the topic of this battle if it weren't in Europe.
I can’t argue with that, but I think all 3 rides are pretty neck and neck. I’d live to ride Zadra to see how it compares.

Iron Gwazi doesn't last very long. Steel Vengeance has more tunnels and follows Mean Streak's structured layout. Iron Gwazi is a wild spaghetti bowl and doesn't resemble Gwazi. I'm too far from Florida to ride it but I've seen on ride povs. If Iron Gwazi was a dueler/racer like Gwazi or Twisted Colossus, that'd be something that would beat out Steel Vengeance in my opinion. But that'd be twice as expensive but pay off in the long run. They're both wonderful rides and we should just be thankful for them both instead of comparing them. But for me, Steel Vengeance is just cool.. a masterpiece. Rode it once. It just has a stance and presence about it and western theme.. perfect for an rmc.. and it's in Ohio, where I'm from. It's cool to have something like it so epic in my home state.. my favorite..the goat..same as you with Iron Gwazi.
It's awesome the Steel Vengeance is in your home state! It is true that Iron Gwazi is not super long, but I love the ride. Even though I am comparing these rides, it is only because I love talking about these two legendary coasters. They are both masterpieces for sure.

This is my arguement for steel vengeance: when people got off that thing opening day, literally 90% of all people put it at their number 1, while people say iron Gwazi is ONE of the best rollercoasters in the world, haven’t ridden Iron Gwazi, but from a consensus standpoint, it still is so far.

Just based on what I’ve ridden, they are my top 2. I acknowledge that there are other coasters that one may prefer and you are allowed to say others are better.
Gwazi looks too short too me to be number 1
It does looks short before you ride it, but in my opinion, you’ll feel like it was long by the time you end the ride.

Best coaster in na ≠ world
I’ve ridden coasters outside of the North America, and these are my two favorites. It’s based on my personal opinion. I haven’t ridden Zadra yet, but these two are my top.

And even if u are only talking about rmc.. u haven’t ridden untamed/zadra /Hakugei/wildfire (as far as I know) and at least the hybrids are probably up there with the best rmcs
