All of this in no more than 2 working hours honestly? That's super quick! i‘m no bad painter at all, but it would take me at least 4-5 hrs to achieve something similar..
That's 2 hours brush on model, not factoring in drying time. In my case I had a hair drier to hand when making the video, and I filmed it all in one evening once my kids were in bed. I start a timer on my laptop when I'm painting and stop it when I've done whatever bit I'm working on to get a general time for how long it takes. In this case when the final bits were done it came in at 2:11. Adding in the time I was sat with the hair drier waiting for stuff to dry or nipping off to do a job, it took about 3 and a half hours. Paint a model one day as quickly as you can timing yourself when you're actually interacting with the model. You'll be surprised how quickly you can do it!
I used a bit too much of the terradon Turquoise in my mix with contrast (I think) But didn’t realise until after painting the whole dragon. The results was a way to blue dragon. Would I have to repaint the whole thing or do you have a tip to brighten it up a bit? I’m quite new to painting, this guide was brilliant 😊
@Samuel-sw1sj You would unfortunately, yes, but you could lighten it slightly with some drybrushing of a lighter colour. It's really no drama though - dragons have different skin colours, just paint the next one lighter. As long as the riders and bases match, it will look good. 🙂
Loving your videos dude, happily subscribed and awaiting your next videos. Speaking of, I think a tutorial on a classic Cadian Leman Russ would save countless guard players souls, one of them being mine!
Awesome tutorial! I wonder if Lahmian Medium works equal than Contrast medium conbined with the Terradon Turquoise, I need to have a couple of dragons ready for a tournament on the weekend
You could use Kroxigor Scales, but its still incredibly vibrant so your model would look a lot more blue and a lot less like the box art if you didn't use it. You could probably use Briar Queen Chill straight out pot for the body, and Kroxigor for the Armoured scales.
@@criticalhitwargaming5290 Thanks for the quick reply! I'll probably stick with TT then. Do you have any recommendations for dry brush paints to add a little depth / layers to it like sybarite green or gauss blaster green?
Another awesome piece, love all of the details you put into your work!
Thanks very much!
@@criticalhitwargaming5290 Yw!

It will be similar, but will probably flow a bit more like regular paint than contrast.
Thanks 😎😍👍
Do you think Kroxigor Scales would be a good replacement for TT and not need the contrast mix?
