That’s the lesson I’ve been looking for, I’ve just started at the deep end and don’t know if what I’m doing is right? Having now seen this lesson I think what I’m doing is correct which will make my confidence grow, so a massive thankyou 👏

@@PaulGillings thanks, I think maybe more of the same, how to play with a band, I always read don’t over play, the band I’ve joint wants me to play lots, so I’m trying to play under the singer by playing softly then waiting for gaps and the solo to play loud and more complicated parts? Which I think is working ? Now they have lost the lead guitar ( nothing to do with me lol) they want me to play even more 🤔thanks again

That all sounds like the way forward! I’ve been told it’s called ‘comping’. Which I guess is a short way of saying that you’re accompanying the band and singer rather than being the soloist - just like every other instrument! Fabulous work buddy, I’ll think on a lesson to expand on that. 🙏

@Paul Gillings thanks for the video. I am in Norwich and I love visiting Lowestoft. Maybe one day I can see you performing....I am trying to learn playing harmonica.

I agree with everything you said in the last few minutes of that video. The thing about that song is, you weren't competing with a lead guitar for the solo work.
    Keep up the good work.

Cheers Billy, it's sometimes a bit uphill as you well know. But making great friends like yourself along the way make it all worthwhile :-)
