Fox8.com: "Family members said a red Jeep had been seen in the victim’s driveway around 10 a.m. Monday morning. That Jeep was also spotted driving up and down the road.
State police are asking anyone who may have been in the area between 8 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. on Monday, and who may have seen a suspicious vehicle to give them a call."

Yourerie.com: "Spartansburg, Pa. (WJET/WFXP) - State police have announced the arrest of 52-year-old Shawn Cranston of Corry, PA in the killing of 23-year-old Rebekah Byler.
Cranston is being charged with Criminal Homicide, Criminal Homicide of Unborn Child, Burglary, and Criminal trespass. Cranston was arraigned just before 4:30 Saturday morning. He is currently being held without bail at the Crawford County Jail.
Cranston’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 15th.
The arrest comes after an exhaustive five-day-long investigation."

"Search warrant filings for the Pennsylvania home where a pregnant Amish woman was killed this week said she appeared to have suffered cutting wounds to her neck and head.
Two identical search warrants were issued at the request of state police regarding the Monday slaying of Rebekah A. Byler, 23. Her body was found in the living room of her home a few miles from Spartansburg.
The warrant applications regarding the home and outbuildings that were submitted by an investigator, Trooper Adam Black, said the victim’s husband, Andy Byler, found her body “a short distance inside” the home shortly after noon.
Black wrote that a woman, previously described by police as a family friend, called 911 at 12:36 p.m. to report that she and Andy Byler found Rebekah Byler unresponsive when they arrived."

Suspect now in custody they knew for a couple days who and why the children positively identified him it just took a little time to hunt him down

I ran my own Amish Taxi Service from early 1998 till late 2006 in the Spartansburg, PA Amish Community. I used a 15 passenger van to haul them all over Tri State Area and also cross country. My Grandparents, Guy & Dorothy Bimber, had done Trucking and Taxi work for the Amish Community ever since the late 1960's when the Amish started moving into the Area till Guy's death in 1996 & Dorothy's in 2008. My Uncle Richard still drives for the Amish.
I know this Woman's Parents and Grandparents. Praying for the whole Family and Community as I am still in contact with many of the Families who became very close Friends.
When you turn in jailbirds from around the world to the U.S.A, bad things happen. Will this be yet another one?

I’m in southwestern Pennsylvania. This is absolutely horrible. Many years ago, my cousin encountered Amish brother and sister teens (about 16-17 years old) who had sneaked away from their community. My cousin was driving a cab and they hailed her. When they got in her cab, they said they wanted to go sightseeing and that they were running away. My cousin shut the meter off. She and the siblings spent the day going to the amusement park and shopping and going to restaurants, etc. At the end of the day, my cousin convinced them to go back home. She told them everyone out here is not so nice and that they were better off back in their community. All 3 had tears in their eyes. The teens thanked her. She prayed for them and took them to the Greyhound bus station to see them get back on a bus home. It’s so disturbing to think of anyone who would want to harm these peaceful people. Praying for the family of this woman. ❤️🙏

I know u mean well! Yet, they are not as ‘peaceful ‘ as u believe ! The Amish Old Order Communities have incest, sexual abuse, rape, domestic abuse and alcohol abuse, etc!
Unfortunately , frequently, these go unreported to the police ! The abusers may get shunned for a few weeks!
The victims are expected to forgive the abuser, never talk about it again, and continue to live with them, even when the victims are minors! No therapy nor help, nor protection given to the victims ! If the victims want to mention the abuse, they are shunned!
So, of course, the sexual and domestic abuse continues once the abuser is back from being shunned, prison, etc!
The divorce is forbidden ! And even if u succeed to divorce, the Amish elders are likely to kidnap and hide ur own kids from u! Another reason why the Amish women are much less likely to leave the Amish community! Only the strong, determined Amish women leave!
Also, the Amish do lie to the police and to the judge, verbally agreeing, giving promises to keep the victims safe, but do not do it!
Yes, Amish hate the ‘worldly’ justice system’s interference!
They are also extremely legalistic and punish own people for very petty stuff, such as the extra crease in the bonnet, or using electrical appliances, etc!
They are forbidden to hold the Bible Studies, use musical instruments, forbidden to attend non-Amish churches ( incl Mennonite ones) ! Some orders don’t allow English -language Bibles, even thought many Amish find it difficult to understand their own language Bibles !
The New Order Amish are significantly better in terms of legalism, helping the victims of abuse and working with the police, etc!
If she brought them across any state line she effectively kidnapped them in the “laws” eyes 😮😢 🙁

Please pass on our condolences!! The landmark case of allowing the Amish to homeschool their children gave countless home schooling opportunities for the American English over these years. I hope the police check to see if other similar crimes have happened. Amish women are extremely vulnerable. They have non violents beliefs and therefore have no weapons to use to protect themselves. My heart is broken for the little children that were home when she was murdered.
Many Amish hunt so they do have some weapons available,at least where I grew up in Ohio

SPARTANSBURG, Pa. (AP) - A Pennsylvania man was arrested Saturday and charged with the slaying of a pregnant Amish woman whose body was found last week.
Shawn C. Cranston, 52, of Corry, has been charged with criminal homicide, criminal homicide of an unborn child, burglary and criminal trespass, according to court documents.
He was denied bail at a preliminary arraignment early Saturday morning and is being held at the Crawford County jail with a preliminary hearing scheduled March 15; no defense attorney was listed and a number listed for Cranston was not in service. Calls and emails were made Saturday to state police, the district attorney and the public defender’s office.
Cranston’s arrest comes less than a week after authorities found the body of Rebekah A. Byler, 23, in the living room of her home a few miles from Spartansburg.
