Thank you for this comment, which may answer a question for me. I have three MM Sub1 guitars and I love the neck on these. Is the neck on the Sterling Cutlass different? Maybe it is more like a standard Strat neck?
Did you say the CT30HSS was a "classic vibe killer" ? As in it would be a much better guitar than a Squier classic vibe ? I need to try one out because I tried a classic vibe 70's with HSS config and thought it was awesome for the money and I never hear much about Sterling guitars. I guess if you are after that classic "Fender strat sound" which I think for quite many looking in to a strat would, the classic vibe is a better buy. It would have been interesting to hear you plug in the tremolo to see how that works and how the tuning would hold up after using it. I will have to look up another video for that =)
I think for me because the older classic vibes really are much better then the new ones, although the new ones are still good its still true. I would prefer a CT30 over a brand new CV.
On the CT30 its a plastic synthetic bone. I always highly polish up the frets and hydrate the fingerboard but NOT with lemon oil like is so commonly done. Use something like the crimson restoritive, its magic.
Im guessing you mean the CT50s? The CT50s were revamped this year so are slightly different now. But there is quite a big difference, wood firstly, roasted maple etc, some more finish options. Alnico V pickups and upgraded pots. Locking tuners as standard. And a higher mass branded tremolo.
This guitar is far better put together then the new squire classic vibe, if your local check out the workshop approved version. If you prefer the CV, try and find a good condition older one, from 2008, 2014ish as they were much much better then the newer ones.
I figured get the CT30, because most will replace pickups aftermarket. But here is my question. I have used full Fender player alnico 5 replacements pots switches, etc. Plenty of hum. The ct30 ceramics are pretty quiet. Would it be an audible downgrade. Are most Fender or other brand alnicos super hummers?
I think the current player series pickups are pretty good. You can do things like sheilding paint (not expensive) in the routing that can help. But in fairness, both my fenders are fairly noisy. It comes down to alot of factors, i play close to my PC which adds noise etc.
@@Paul-D I got a player plus top strat, and a player telecaster. They are noisy, but I'm getting better at adjusting. I got a noise gate pedal, sort of helped. Then didn't. So I keep my hand on the strings and it calms down.
@Bud Dee I looked hard at G&L s500 and tribute series. In the end I felt the Fender player series has a sound that I want and others couldn't duplicate.
My guess is theyll be on the same level as the CV guitars. So they wont be bad, but these cutlass guitars are so much better in my opinion. If your local, check out our workshop approved version of this guitar. We put in bareknuckle pots, treble bleed circuit and really kick it up a notch and its only an extra 50 pound. Really cool!
I know this is nine months late but Sterling sells locking tuners on their site. I'm not sure if the Fenders would work great with the headstock being a 4+2 rather than 6 in a row.
A few people have said that tbf, its strange im as picky as it gets when it comes to strats and like things to be traditional but the pickguard on these never bothered me. Maybe its because when you play them its not something you notice. Your just hearing it and feeling how good the neck is etc
I love music man guitars. the sterlings are good, but they feel different to the original
I havent played a USA musicman yet. Would like to try one for sure

@@MrSheymie I think, the neck is also very good, but you have to put more attention on the setup and the adjustment
Thanks! Looking for a guitar for travelling with. Cutlass might be a good option.@@AlexanderGhezzo

Great guitar. I bought one yesterday.
They are, i do prefer the SSS but thats neither here or there just a choice thing
Me too! Two years after the inital comment, but still - bought it yesterday!
How thick is the trem block? Standard size or cheaper thin block? Thanks!
They are thinner on the 30 and full size on the 50. I found them both to be acceptable though
What material is the nut made out of? Also does the scratchy noise of the fretboard go away, just got mine!

i just bought one today i cant wait to have it i chosse the sss one
Congrats. I prefer the SSS 🤘
I'm getting into sterling lately pretty heavy but have never played one, my next guitar will be their Mariposa and I'm hoping it's gonna amazing 😂
I really do think as far as new guitars go the sterling range is hard to beat.
What is the difference between this guitar and the ones you can buy that are 500. I’m looking and I can only find differences in the wood

I got one coming from Amazon looking forward to it🙂
There great guitars, though i cant recommend buying guitars that way 😅
@@Paul-D One thing I Gotta say Can it chug with distortion?
@@bluephoenix3865 with a nice enough amp, drive peal etc you can get anything chugging haha
Im choosing between this one or squier classic vibe. Which one is better?

I've been looking at the Fender SQ Contemp Strat Special MNBK
Would this be better?

Does the stealth one have locking tuners?
None of the CT30s do just the CT50s 😁
Can you drop in Fender locking tuners to the CT30 series?
Good question - i think you could because the CT50 comes with locking tuners that are the same fit.

I got one but Has more bass on it what can i do?
Have you tried lowering the pickups on the bass side and bringing them up a touch on the treble side? Can be quite effective

It is like a Telecastor.
Can’t understand what you’re saying son. That’s all folks.
Fair enough 🤷♂️
