It's a royal shame that all the GM, FoMoCo, and MOPAR light duty trucks were killed off in favor of large, expensive, complicated mid-size and heavy-duty trucks only.
I've been happy with my Tacoma, but even Toyota has left their inexpensive, simple origins and have gone far too up-market to care about people like me.
I seriously wish Ford still made these Rangers, and that Toyota had retained their dead basic, cheap trucks of decades past. Even stuff like the old Canyon and Colorado were perfect mini workhorses, but everyone keeps building bigger.

In my opinion this is the last year of good looking rangers. 2012 and up rangers are so ugly.
@Allosaurus 67 wow I didn’t know that. Also I agree, I bet they would make a lotttt of money if they brought back these small compact classic rangers. I love reliability and simple instead of luxury, comfort, with lots of unreliable technology like every new vehicle is.

I’ve had this truck for years now... never a single issue not even once.
Little late, but I am hoping to pick up a 2011 XLT 4X4 tomorrow morning with 130k one owner and all these comments about how reliable it is and long lasting it can be is making me more excited

I’m looking hard all over the West for a clean & pristine late third-gen XLT/Sport 2wd Ranger, a low-mileage 2008-11. A canopy/topper would be a bonus.
This really showed off a lot of features of this truck, but would have been possible to either have no music or change it up a bit? The guitars are grading after like 5 loops...
Despite all the jokes in the comments section this is probably one of the most highest quality reviews of a 2011 Ranger I've seen because most of them are filmed on phones with a really terrible quality and really terrible audio quality

This is like the last of the small sedans/trucks with front split bench seating and a column mounted shifter.

My favorite Rangers are the Standard-Cab/Long-Bed models, but I still love them all.
Mine are the supercab standart bed xlt models :D when I get my lisence I'll always need the extra space

Well folks, this truck sounds pretty nice. I don't really like trucks these days. They are way to big and look stupid as fuck but Ford Ranger is always the best for small works. :) Well, I am a Jeep guy (I know you haters are there and going to comment shit about Jeeps). Yes. Well, my 97 Cherokee is close to hit 435,000 km. Amazing how this Jeep is still working without problem but folks gas MPG is bitch slap on the face.
My friends drive Ford Ranger and I came across this video and gave me a nice review about the truck. Thanks for the video. :) So, what's the gas mpg is like on this Ranger?
Hey, glad you like the video! When they were new (2011 was the last year for the Ranger), the engine in this truck made about 22mpg in the city and 27mpg on the highway.

Normally you would expect to pay, maybe $8000 at a dealer.
Saw the 2011 Ford Ranger xlt automatic 96,xxx miles today at a used dealership. I ask and they wanted $15,000 and then I ask what were the interest on a payment and they said 18% on a $4000 down payment. I said never mind and walk out.

Indeed. This thing was WAY outdated by the time it was discontinued in late 2011: they mainly had the jump seats there to skirt chicken tax like what was done with the BRAT in 1982. Thank hell for today’s hybrid Maverick, which is much safer than this old death trap.

It makes the vehicle more roomier and I like column shifters. That’s the thing. The middle seat is tight though, wish they would overlook that.

At least I saw at the Ny Autoshow Hyundai Ionic 5 made the gear shifter on the steering wheel and the counsol not obtrusive like a bench seat. You can fit a bag in the middle. Was pretty cool.

Yeah and the armrest goes all the way up so you can slide over if you want to use the passenger door. Was very cool. Too bad it’s electric.

Not surprising - I tend to average around 15-16 combined mpg with my '04 XLT Fx4 Ranger.
Those mpg estimates listed by Ford are very generous, and the published numbers were achieved in the factory using very strict protocol so they could legally use the highest mpg number they could.

Not really, and not nearly as much as the Maverick Hybrid. Not as safe or roomy as the latter, either.
Drove both, can corroborate. And don’t even get me started on the rear jump seats in this thing: those things are accidents waiting to happen.
