Bro I have a 97 with the 2.3L and it lacks power fucking bad and it kinda sucks. a/c doesnt exactly blow cold. Every fucking bump feels rough. Steering is extremely loose. Pulls to the left when braking. Headlights completely not aimed right. Antenna is non existent. A ton of wind noise. I cannot shift smoothly no matter what I do. A/c only blows hard through the middle vents and barely on the side vents. I swear everyone says the Rangers are super amazing cars but in my experience it fucking sucks
@andrewrodriguez8492 dude, almost everything you mentioned is maintenance related or just due to driving a 27 year old vehicle. Like are you serious? Adjust the headlights, replace the worn out suspension components, fix the ac. They are tough little trucks, they aren't immune to time and wear items wearing out.
You guys are acting like 2011 was a million years ago. Make fun of it if you want but it's a hell of a lot better than today's pieces of shit. My 08 Ranger 4.0 4x4 has 423, 885 miles on it and still running fairly strong.
I have a silver 2011 XLT with the upgraded wheels and - 32,120 miles as of today...looks like it just drove off the lot. Absolutely love it. Simple and easy to work on.

You’re guaranteed to see one of its productionmates cruising down I-35 in the fast lane with a stack of pallets 15 feet tall… and the pallets won’t be tied down. Yes, I’ve witnessed this. Yes, I gave the genius driving it all of the space I needed.
Had a early 2000s ranger back in the day. it was a great truck. mine had the 4.0 engine and 410 gears from the factory in the rear end and had the torsen locker. It would tow up to 5000 lb. no problem and would regularly tow a 16ft flatbed with my built suzuki samurai on it. Typically got 18mpg daily. Was fine for wife and i and two adolescent sons but when the daughter was added it was replaced with a f150. 18 years later and about to be empty nesters and i am back looking at mid/compact trucks.
I have a 2011 XLT 4.0 with 50.000 miles. Bought it from my Dad. Lift & leveling kit, exhaust, tint, STT Pro tires, bed cover. Looks & drives new. Tough truck. God bless ❤️✝️🇺🇸

I have a 98 ranger, 2.5 liter, 201,000 miles. Only problem i had was the alternator and brake line. Great truck, great motor. Get you one if your looking for a small truck.
Had an '02, ranger edge, 4.0 with factory 4.73 gears and a bama chips tunes. That little truck could move out. Got wrecked sitting in front of my house with 275,000 miles on it.
I want to know if you are going to do an Off-road test with this Ford ranger? And i would like to see a second generation of Dodge Durango (with traction control and low range) in a off-road test

The Ranger was a ""tougher version "" with bigger brakes ,,longer torsion rods , leaf for comfort , chassis reinforcement. Upgraded interior .
I have a 2009 4x2 Sport that the service guys down at my local Ford dealer always refer to as the “cleanest fu*king Ranger I have ever seen” (I wax the bed 😂) and I love it! I have several nicer / more expensive vehicles in my collection, but I don’t think any of my babies get more comments or attention when I take them out for a cruise than my simple little Ranger………👍
My 2011 Ranger is almost the same spec as this truck. I love everything about it and honestly wouldn’t change a thing. The Redfire Metallic definitely gets a lot of looks and attention for being an old Ranger.
Looking at a 2011 with the same specs now, and very low mileage. Not cheap, but I know it will last me forever. How many miles in did your timing chain get out? Also did you do any notable mods, like exhaust?
These are great trucks, I have a 1999. But man, Ford was really pushing it making these like this until 2011, extremely outdated all around by that time if you ask me. They should’ve gotten a complete redesign inside & out after at least 2003.

I think it would wise for Ford to go back to that stye of truck I like them they were simple but good no turbos etc
Why no turbo? The main reason why so many car companies use them is because there more efficient to make power
Used to ride in the jump seats in my dads ranger listening to the Highwaymen! His was a 5 speed
