Ironic how at its most aggressive death metal tends to become even more complex and nuanced.

Agreed, I used to think in terms of "technical death metal" like Necrophagist and "brutal death metal" like Deeds of Flesh, but after going to see bands like Severed Savior and Cannibal Corpse live, I had to recognize that the guitar compositions of BDM are every bit as challenging as the "technical" bands.

In my opinion brutal death metal riffs are often even more difficult to play then tech death ones because of the weird shapes used because it’s typically atonal as opposed to using scales that have likely been practiced. Also playing close chromatic notes in such insane tempos is harder then playing at the same tempos while playing notes in scales. Plus the super faster palm muted power chords sections are also very difficult.

I had some fun for my 38th B-Day (September 22nd), so I "borrowed" your vid, mastered the audio the best I could and did a vocal cover on it. I tried to sing with actual lyrics, but I got way out of sync and I've ended up sounding more like Will Rahmer of Mortician than AJ Magana which is kinda' my favorite vocalist. If you have the time to check it out, please tell me what you think of my vocal cover here ruclips.net/video/q3NbUzdhfU8/видео.html .
