GP,I have watched all your 8 part videos on how to install the EZ- view DRO at least 3 times already, every time I watch a portion of it I learn something new, the way you did yours is exactly how I'm going to approach the installation.
Very well done videos, great close-ups & explanation, just straight to the point.no unnesessary use of jargens.
Thank you very much for going through the trouble of making these videos.

Thanks for your comments on the videos. I have a lot to learn about doing RUclips video. As for the installation of the DROs, I am not a machinists, I am just a hobbyists who wanted some way of measuring closely what the Mini-Mill is doing, and lucky enough to have a machine like this. I have yet to install the other two DROs. But when I do, I will do videos on those as well. Kind of have other things on my plate.

I am just finishing up installing the Igaging Absolute Plus DROs on my X2 mill and boy, what a pain in the ass it's been. I'm glad that I'm about done. Anyway, My Mill has the air spring, so the left side of the mill is open to have the DRO installed there. It was the easiest one to install. Basically just drill and tap the 2 holes, mount the top and bottom, then make a bracket that screws to the back of the gage read head that extends to the mill head, and drill and tap the bracket to the head. My DROs have threaded holes on the top and bottom of the read head, but the holes are too small for the screws that came with the gages. The L brackets that also came with the gages would work great if I had the screws to use those small homes on the top and bottom of the read head. But it only comes with screws that fit the larger holes on the back side of the read heads, so the brackets have to be more complex than they need to be. This way, you have to have the bracket exactly right or else it binds up.

If you haven't figured it out yet, mount the Z axis DRO to the spindle. You only have to measure the plunge of the tool, not where to start the plunge from.

No, I have not yet installed the Z axis DRO. You are recommending installing it on the left side, attached to the counter weight spring spindle? Have not done this DRO because I may do an air spring conversion and there by eliminating the spindle all together
