I bid low to one of the many vendors, the one with the most history, and risked the $175 + $15 shipping. They came in last night. I'm really happy. I set them with the pedals closest to the floor so that my pressure is more vertical which keeps from slipping around on the floor. IL-2 recognized them instantly and I flew for a couple of hours last night. I discovered that I had a bad muscle memory habit of twisting the stick WAY more than I should. My aiming was much more relaxed and accurate using the pedals. Well worth it. The dampener was the final selling point over the Russian pedals that look similar.

For me the damper made a world of difference and was the top selling point. As a helicopter sim (mostly), I set the damper to strong. Doing this means the rudders will not snap back to center if I adjust my feet.

Thank you for this. I was curious about this rudder and you were the only video reviewer of it that I could find, and one of the only few reviewers of it in any format at all.

Before I bought these I looked all over for reviews on this product. Whey they arrived, I was impressed at the build quality of the product. So, I did the video and posted it. I should do an year after video.

Hi, nice review. Just lacking two things. One of the most important factors for its operation and feel is the "cams", that is the rounded metal thing that the spring tensioned roller is moving against when you press the pedals. It probably has a slight dent in the middle to give a slight centering feel. It would have been helpful if we could see the form of it as that is really what determines the feel. Some other HW as the VKB Gunfighter joystick has interchangeable cams and spring so that you can dial in what you want. You did not give a clear shot of the operation of the roller (is it a bearing?) or the form of the cams unfortunately in the whole video. It might have needed some dissassembly of the top part of the cam assembly though. ;)
The other is the electronics and setup of the hall sensors. It would have been really helpful if you could have removed the cover so we can see the inside.
What you really want to focus on in a review is to give a view of those parts that are not visible from a plain photo. :)
Other than that, two thumbs up for a thorough review!

Very helpful. Thanks for review. Just need to figure out what seller to buy from now.

Yes, there are lots of sellers. From what I was able to tell is the pedals seemed identical. So, I bought from the seller with the best rating. These things are holding up well. They feel the same now as they did with I first bought them. strong, tight with no rattles, damper smooth.

Thank you so much for sharing this video. This was extremely helpful as I've looked at SO many different options online. So it's been almost a year since this video, are you still happy with your purchase?

Thanks for asking. Heck Yeah!!! This device is build like a tank, and works perfectly. I fly mostly sim helicopters and these pedals are perfect for that. They work great for planes as well (DCS, Flight Sim, IL2, X-Plane).

Hi Greg, Are you still happy with these? They seem like they might be too light compared with the VKB-Sim T-Rudder Pedals Mk.IV. Are yours just on the floor or are they mounted?
Thanks for the review. Cheers, Manning

Thanks for asking. YES... YES... These are the best rudder pedals I have owned over the years of flight sim. To light? No, not at all. I set the damper high so the pedals will not spring back to center with force of the springs. I fly sim helicopters mostly, so the slow return to center is a benefit. These pedals are mounted on a 80/20 extrusion platform, where the sim racing pedals are mounted above and the sim rudder pedals are mounted below and slide out when needed.

Hello. Nice vid. I am unsuccessfully trying a scissors system like this one. Is there any chance that you can tell me the dimensions of the screw positions for reference and the radius of the cams (if possible). Thank you very much in advance.

I have the same goal you had. Crazy amount of sellers have this for $190 - $200, and that's like 50-60 more that I would expect for no-name ebay item being sold by so many sellers. What did you pay?

    • @gregpruitt1647

The seller I bought from allowed offers. I got them for $175.00. I found these to be high build quality product. Amazing responsiveness and smoothness. The damper is a real bonus. These are worth more than I paid for them.
