2-Year-Old Girl Falls Asleep in Cop's Arms After He Offered to Babysit

- A Utah offered to help a dad in need of a babysitter. The dad was awaiting his hearing at a Utah County court with his highly active 2-year-old daughter. When the man's scheduled hearing time arrived, he tried to take his daughter into court, where children aren't allowed. The dad didn't know what to do when Officer Kevin Norris of the Orem Police Department stepped in. Officer Norris, who was waiting to appear at his own court hearing, kept the girl entertained on his lap and she fell asleep. #InsideEdition

My Husband was a police officer in Long Beach for 18 years, he's passed away now, but this was something I could definitely see him doing!! He was Hawaiian and Samoan, big guy, bigger heart. This officer clearly wasn't looking for an accolades. Just being a human being. God bless Everyone out there.

Yep a toddler holding your hand is a pure sign of trust and it's a wonderful feeling. Being a Grandad now, it's one of those things I treasure the most.

Am I the only one bothered with parents who let their child just walk around? Not only is that a good way for someone to snatch you're child, it's annoying. Mostly in restaurants and shopping centers.
in waiting rooms I think it's okay, at least when it's not busy like this place wasn't. In the video it looks fine, she didn't bother anyone. There was only two other people in the room and no one seemed annoyed, but you're right in restaurants children really need to be still sometimes haha

I don't let my son a leg's length (random, but an arm's length is a little extreme in reality) away from me in a public place, or anywhere unfamiliar that may have dangers lurking where they may go unnoticed, if I'm doing something where I'm distracted and unable to watch him... I was worried about my husband being a little bit too lax, but it turns out that he's even more strict with it than I am. If I saw my husband doing that; well... I would probably show him and blow up his phone if he's not around, with horror stories of things happening to small children in just a matter of seconds, and I would be relentless.

We once saw like a 4 year old girl wandering in a MALL completely unsupervised. Full blown MALL, like they have in big cities. A security guard passed by and we pointed her out to him, so hopefully it ended well. Anotehr time a little girl followed us randomly at the grocery store and we were all like "._. Where did you come from..." Then her dad came and picked her up XD

There was a story recently on yt about a young black man with a newborn baby he had just gotten custody of, his daughter, he went to the airport but was not allowed to fly as the baby wasnt 7 days old yet...he was like what do i do now; an older lady who had dropped a person off for a flight, overheard his plight, so offered to house them for a week, so she took them back to her house and helped him care for the baby for a week, then drove them back to the airport 7 days later and they were then able to depart. Is a VERY heartwarming video that went viral...so wonderful!!

The Orem police department sucks. They don't do anything for anyone unless it is benefiting themselves. I've lived in Orem my whole life and all they have done for me is literally absolutely nothing.
I was at the doctors office and a lady was there with three little boys. The baby was maybe 7/8 months the others looked about 3 and 4. The 4 year old needed x-rays. The technician came out to get him and said only the mother and patient could enter the x-ray room. The mother didn't know what she was going to do. I offered to watch them if they would let me. She said they won't cry. She looked worried but left them with me anyway. They were really good. I was a total stranger and the baby let me hold him even after his mom disappeared behind the door. He didn't fuss at all. About 5 mins later the mother busted through the door. She looked relieved to see us still sitting there. She thanked me profusely. Most well behaved little kids I've ever seen

I feel for the dad, we have just moved 1 1/2 hours away from family and friends to be closer to my husbands work we have no family or friends here. We have spoken to the neighbours a couple of times. But one afternoon I had to get. My son from school I had to walk the hour there by foot as my car was in the garages my husband was away with work and my youngest was ill with a fever ear infection and I just thought ill ask next door she was so kind took her right in took down my number and sent me a photo of her and my youngest she was asleep with her head on my neighbours lap. She a lovely neighbour and I was so thankful for that day.

Ok, this reminds me of a story. I'm also from Utah and when I ran out of gas, an officer was nice enough to pull over and was willing to watch my kids while I went and got gas. I know it's a small favor to him. But, it was HUGE favor to me. I will never forget the man's kindness. Thank you officer's for all you do.
