This honestly shows how the latino culture is one and stick together instead of arguing which one is better, which neither one is because we all share the same foods, music, and dancing. So we really wouldn't make a difference of whos better or not.

Often mistaken for reggae or reggae en español, reggaeton is a younger genre which originated in the clubs of San Juan, Puerto Rico in 1991. It became known as "underground" music, due to its circulation through informal networks and performances at unofficial venues. Puerto Ricans DJ Playero and DJ Nelson were inspired by hip hop and Latin American music to produce "riddims," the first reggaeton tracks.

@CarmeloValoy-- Panama was just straight Dance Hall from Jamaica done in Spanish by El General. Puerto Rican Regetton is another variation of Dance Hall, but not the same as just old Dance Hall like Panama did. Why Puerto Ricans and not Panama became the kings of Regetton for last 20 plus years?? Even Jamaicans do it Puerto Rican style lately. And they call it as Puerto Ricans say it to..

Johnny Pacheco from Dominican Republic was the main creator of salsa in the Bronx and formed the Fania.
Another thing lots of people don’t know that “son music” is originated in Dominican Republic 🇩🇴 by “Teodora Ginés” and she and her sister Micaela took it to Cuba 🇨🇺. Lots of Cuba don’t agree with that but musicologist from Cuba confirmed that it was Teodora Ginés from Dominican who first played and sang the first “son” in Cuba music history. Check this musicologists from Cuba, alejo carpenter and Lauren maton I believe and there is others but don’t remember well.
Even “bolero music has to do with Dominican Republic.
      Check this link.
      peoplepill.com/people/teodora-gines/
      ruclips.net/video/oSS-eC5TGPM/видео.html&feature=share
All this goes back as Dominican Republic, was the first place where Spaniards settled in America on 1942 and built the first cathedral, first university, first road and much more here. In other words, that’s were everything started in the new world, but they don’t teach that in United States 🇺🇸 and in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 I guess.
Also, On 1500 slaves were introduced for the first time in the Dominican Republic or new world, which the Spaniards called first “la hispañola”. Original name of the island by the the native taínos is “kiskeya”, that’s why they call Dominican, Quizqueyano.
Well, later on after lots of conflicts and wars lots Dominican migrated to others neighbors island, like Cuba and even Puerto Rico. For instance, Teodora Ginés and sister Micaela migrated to Cuba.
Dominican Republic has to do a lot with their neighbors music history and influence. Therefore Dominican has always played “son” and it is on its history, Dominican son.
Dominican music is not only Dominican anymore but belongs to the whole Latin and world Because everybody has been enjoying our music for decades. 🇩🇴🤣🙏🏼
      Such as:
      Merengue típico or ripiao
      Merengue mambo
      Merengue bachata
      Merengue electrónico
      Merengue de orquesta
      Bachata
      Palo
      Mangulina
      Salve
      Atavales
      Panviche
      Son dominicano
And has a new sound called “denbew” even though it derived from reggae or regueton 🤣but you can tell the difference.
Guys I’m not being arrogance here , it is just making a point here and defending my country because some people talk things without knowing Dominican Republic’s history 🙏🏼🤣
De quizqueya son los sones 🇩🇴🤣🙏🏼bless everyone!!

Soviet Person Johnny Pacheco from Dominican Republic was the main creator of salsa in the Bronx and formed the Fania.

    • @Williamjclopez82
      @Williamjclopez82 5 лет назад +1

Right lady. Now go fight by yourself! No one is claiming anything and nobody wants to claim anything of yours or your culture. This group is performing a dance representing music and culture, not trying claim anything. Just because merengue originate it in the DR does not mean it can't be heard in other parts of the world and appreciated. Think about it for a second and tell me I'm wrong?

    • @user-xd7qg1up4z
      @user-xd7qg1up4z 5 лет назад +1

William Clark Lopez No one is saying Merengue cant be heard in Puerto Rico or any other part of the World but saying that Merengue is a Puerto Rican Dance is False because Merengue comes from the DR!

    • @Williamjclopez82
      @Williamjclopez82 5 лет назад +1

Merengue is a type of music and dance originating in the Dominican Republic, which has become a very popular genre throughout Latin America, and also in several major cities in the United States which have Hispanic communities. In the title no where does it say anything about any merengue music or dance being from Puerto Rico however, it does say Merengue is a part of our music culture on our island of Puerto Ricao. We listen to it and have many puerto rican groups and artist that sing and perform merengue. The only thing the title says is, Puerto Rican and Dominicans dancing merengue. Thats it.

    • @maripookio

William Clark Lopez the problem is that they say it’s theirs when it’s not no one said they couldn’t listen to it!
