Polymer 80 Pistol Blanks - January 2023 Update

  • There has been a lot happening with Polymer 80 and the ATF over the past 12 months. The ATF issues a ruling in August 2022 that required some changes from Polymer 80 to stay in compliance. In December 2023, the "Compliance" line was moved a little further. We stopped by the booth at SHOT Show 2023 to get an update from CEO Loran Kelley and see how things are evolving.

They don't. Supreme Court ordered an injunction against them for this... but I'm sure Polymere80 will cowardly continue to obey them, even when they don't have to. Just like bump-stocks, cowards would stop selling them, even though there's no law that says they can't. We're so cowardly a nation that we even obey "laws" that don't even exist.

If You Did You Would Know That He Has Already Filed Lawsuits Against The Attorney General and The ATF and He is Confident That They Will WIN ! in Court. But For Now He Has Employees With Families To Keep Employed as He Feels Responsible For Them and Even Though it's Costing Him a Lot Of Money to Re-Tool He Has To For Now To Comply To Keep His Company in Buisness ! I have a dentists instrument set & mechanical watch toolset that I'd pull out for some areas. it'll def be tedious. Btw I've cut stuff with a red hot knife before, you have to keep heating the knife over and over to get any results and I don't recommend lol tbh I'd just order one of gst's instead

I'd say that this would be a win for P80 except for eliminating that hole. Unless they start making the jig to accommodate that hole it's next to impossible for anyone to drill it without a Bridgeport and a print to reference back to.

No, that is not all. There is material that has to be removed to insert the front rail, and the front pin hole is no longer pre-drilled. There is no jig with provisions for that hole, and it is centered on the corner of an angled surface, so it's going to need an end mill and fixturing, not simply a drill bit.

Do not buy any of these PA frames from this company. They are garbage that grid in the back is nearly impossible to remove without totally destroying the lower grip module. I watched my brother destroy three of them and he has probably built hundreds of these. The feds put that there so people would screw them up. if anyone has any suggestions that you know work, please let me know so I can tell my brother. I watched him do this for hours being very meticulous but there’s one part of that grid way down in there that you have to use a Dremel and then it melts. Feds are slick on this one guys any pointers would be appreciated and please don’t reply and tell me just go slow because molasses ran faster than my brother.
