Another wonderful film, so relaxing to watch, and fun. I hope you can both do more boating videos - especially on narrow boats. Thanks for sharing your experiences.
These videos are great. They make me forget the trouble going on in the world and are a breath of fresh air.
Oh, I am so pleased.
Stunning pic Richard and Julia .
I loved the fact you had slowed down to take the views in.
I think we all struggle to enjoy and live in the moment.
So important and fantastic !!
Beautiful just so relaxing to watch and great to see you both having a great time.So much to see along the Thames and so peaceful and so much wildlife to enjoy. Thanks for sharing your journey.Love the music.True soulmates
Thanks, Vicky.
Excellent! I probably feel more chilled than you after watching that. No traffic signals or jams and total peace. Who needs towns and cities with noise and fumes? Epic drone footage and room to fly it.
Thanks
Thank you!
Thanks so much.
Great Videos as always Richard, Julia is indeed very confident on the water such a Natural, I do no a bit of that area well Didcot which is just up the road from Cholsey and what a Beutiful place that is I will indeed get out and explore that area and as you both saw the sky around that area is full of the magnificent Red Kites as that area was chosen to reintroduce them first back in the 1980s they can also be quite noisy at times, what a great couple you make made for each other cheers to you both.
Richard, dont worry about what you are filming as i know you will being a pro ,the content that you give us viewers is more than enough the beutiful country side fantastic filming quality ,its all good stuff and so natural thats what we like!! did you know that George Michael bought Mill cottage in Goring and passed away there ? anyway keep up your great work it brings more pleasure than you will know.
Really enjoying these films. They make me feel like I'm on holiday too! Such a pretty little boat and such gorgeous scenery and I'm so impressed with Julia's confident boat handling! Looking forward to the next one.
Thanks so much.
All you need is a little 🐕
Absolutely magical. Loved the music, brilliantly filmed and drone shots superb. You do make a perfect couple, thank you Julia and Richard for being so entertaining.
Another great episode Richard and Julia. Really enjoying your trip. Thanks for taking us along 🥰
Our pleasure, as always.
Excellent music choices, Richard. Really fits with the shots.
Your discussion about filling up with water makes me wonder why these boats (and canal boats) don’t have gauges for their water tanks! It would be a simple thing to have.
With the fact the boat is now 25 years old, sadly it’s not quite that simple on her. The water tank is hidden behind the galley and within the walls of the back heads (bathroom). To fit a gauge at the moment would require completely removing the galley and partial removal of the heads too. It is on my list and will be done in due course, when we refit the galley in the future. I usually find she holds enough for two people to comfortably live, shower, cook and drink for a good 2/3 days with some spare. 😊
Fantastic thank you Richard and Julia so much
Our pleasure!
the oxford and cabridge boat race ,, what a place to go by ..
This series is superb! So good to see some happiness, enjoyment and good old-fashioned fun, all the best to you both.
What a lovely way to end your river cruise series. That spot looked perfect!
End? But nay, dear kindred spirit there is more! Hehehe xx
@@JuliaHartley oh thank goodness for that! Xx sorry Julia

Oh I could jump for joy that yourself & Julia are a couple. Finally! It was inevitable. Written in the stars. You were made for each other. True soul mates. You both present beautifully & thank you so much for sharing your lives with us. Keep going to beautiful & historic places of which the UK is in abundance of. You know this already. Take care. Love to you both & your families. ❤😊❤
Thank you so much, June, for the lovely words.
Agree June!!! 🤩🤩🤩
You are right June,Richard & Julia it was inevitable they were made for each other and I hope they have many good years together ❤
What excellent videos, you're both so lovely and entertaining, we look forward to each episode as though we're there with you. The drone shot and gentle music, what an excellent way to end the video. Well done to you both, so enjoyable and relaxing.
It is really nice to see the area that I live in through another person's eyes. I am looking forward to the next couple of videos.
We are just in Tilehurst. The Purley end of course and easy walking distance.
David and Lily.
We go on the walks with the LOVE BIRDS!!!
Thank you
Hi Julia and Richard, this was really very lovely to watch and listen to...your choice in music is excellent! @17:30 apprx. bird yoga? 😊Love the drone footage. It's so nice to see you both sounding and looking so relaxed, so well deserved! You are a really lovely couple! Thank you for sharing, take really good care of yourselves, stay well! Lots of love Kathy x 💖
Another beautiful relaxing episode ,we love this trip..Great drone shots
I have really enjoyed this series. We certainly have some beautiful countryside in the UK and i can never understand why people leave their rubbish behind making it look untidy and as Julia said its not good for the wildlife.
Lovely video again! Really enjoying your river trip. Thank you. 🙋♀️
Thanks so much, Barbara.
Another fine day on the river! Julia picking up trash reminds me of my youth when we lived in the country and how my dad would send me out picking up trash along the road that passed our house. "Damn city slickers" my dad would curse! But during the 1960s an anti-littering campaign in America helped clean up our roadsides so that today roadside trash is quite rare. Why people can be so careless and thoughtless will always mystify me! I'm also thinking with an open cockpit boat on a river you are going to get a lot of bugs, especially "no see ums" which may account for those red spots you're seeing. Walking through tall grass and woods wearing shorts is also an invitation bugs find irresistible.
Superb. Filming and scenery amazing. Great fun. Drone filming really good.
Very kind, Shirley.
Another great instalment
Thanks again!
Once again, just totally delightful, thank you x
Thank you richard and Julia . Your very brave julia letting richard steer the boat .glad you both had a great time.
She is a brave lady. :)
Thank YOU Steve. As you can see the necklace you helped me choose is still my absolute favourite. Much love to you, Maz, and Rob xxx
Lovely stuff Richard, it has opened my eyes as a little to see the Thames meandering through the countryside. A nice series of videos that I am loving.
😁Shades of Victor Meldrew behind the wheel Richard 😂
It's like we were with you both!
Fabulous.
thats such a fab book you will enjoy it immensely, the duchess wracked up absolutely obscene gambling debts that she could not afford to pay off, enjoy the book and the wonderful river its truly lovely, my ex husbands family used to have a house in Oxford in the early 90’s and the garden backed onto the thames
Thanks for such a relaxing & charming video you lovely lovely people.
Glad you enjoyed it!
🤣🤣 lol Richard riffs again!!
Y'all are fun, 🙂 both looking quite content, actually; and the land indeed is beautiful.
Thanks very much
This just makes me want to stop painting outside and clearing up and head down to the river.
Yes we turn right outside the house and it is almost a straight down there.
Bit further to Maple Durham but often worth it. Shame the Lockside Café closed.
Love David and Lily.
Other gem Well done guys Love to go to UK I am in NZ
Loved watching you both on the boat
Really love these videos Yet another thrilling video I eagerly awaited As for the lumps Richard we do get a lot of horse flies and other insects that live around rivers and most will bite especially horse flies !
How lovely, good morning what a way to spend your days.
Good morning! Yes a lovely time was had by all.
cracking video, lovely Julie cooking breakfast in the good old fashioned way lol x
Glad you enjoyed it
You wouldn't have been keen to work the lock yourself back in the 70s. Apart from the Upper Thames locks which still have the beams to open the gates, you had to turn a manual wheel, no lock keeper meant no electrical power and it was hard work.
As Ratty said
“Believe me my young friend, there is nothing - absolutely nothing - half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats.”
Fantabulous !
Great see Richard driver boat and enjoy river and wildlife on River great video
I love these videos ! I think that boat looked very eerie.....I like a mystery....
Richard hope happy with this ❤ came across so well 😀 very interesting don't over think what going on its all top drawer for us all until next time 😀 😊
Glad you enjoyed it
May I recommend Boogie On Up The River by Mark Wallingford? It's hilarious. Must admit though I've not read the book, only listened to the series of radio plays starring Timothy Spall which you can probably find online somewhere, if not RUclips.
I would also recommend Three Men In A Boat which is a great read.
For the life and times of a Thames lock keeper in the 1960s, I would highly recommend Bread Upon The Waters by David Blagrove.
Another great video from Richard and Juliea , poor Richard bumping his ed on the edge of eds boat ,
That just gave me an Ed ache 😅 anyway hope it's better now
Great to be able to follow progress on the map
Oh, that was just lovely (yet again) and it seems very obvious to me that Richard is becoming more and more "chilled" as the cruise continues! A very good test of a relationship too, of course and you both seem to be loving your adventure together. Beautifully filmed and edited once again and I love watching these videos when I retire to bed, simply because they are so relaxing! Funny, you keep mentioning Goring, the other one of course, in Worthing (as you will well know) and where I will be moving to in a couple of weeks (after many years oop north). Just thought I'd mention my dream has come true, and hence forward, I may be able to join yourself Richard, and The Lovely Julia, plus your many faithful friends, on a walk! Regarding your trip on the Thames, I thought the boat looks so spacious and comfortable, not what I imagined at all. You both look like you've been doing it for years, real naturals, I'd say! Loving the beautiful drone shots, they add so much to the filming. Great stuff and looking forward to Number 4!
Thanks, Stephanie.
Hi Richard, I’ve just been listening to the naked Englishman podcast where you were commenting on people producing “tat” I would just like to put on record that none of your productions could ever be described as tat. Oh and thanks for the unexpected name check on the video.
Very nice, I like these videos on the Thames.
Because your videos are so well filmed and edited the subject is almost immaterial and are really enjoyable whatever you are up to. In youtube speak, 'subject' seems to have been replaced by 'content' which sounds more like a term for regurgitated pap Carry on cruising and happy mooring in Goring. Cheers from Bali.
Thanks so much for your kind words.
Very enjoyable video, love the music better than being at the cinema.
You are a so kind. Thank you
Hay Richard and Julia I think George Michaels live in Goring.Have a great trip.
He used to. He doesn't live there any more.
For the itchy spots, take antihistamines?
lovely video from a perfectly matched couple, could you please tell the make and price of your drone Richard😁
Yes rich rock stars like Chris Rea is somewhere nearby on river front.
Is it possible to get sea sick on the Thames , or does one obviate it by stopping off more ?
Inland water doesn't usually get rough enough to cause seasickness unlike the open ocean 💜
@@JuliaHartley Glad to hear it , although I would err on the safe side with more stops that involved your village visits or a pub, I'm enjoying your cruise , although you are both probably home now joyfully or not land lubbers
Not above Teddington Lock. Everything upstream of there is non tidal.
Can I ask a Q.. When you go and yous water or pass water it should store it on a waists tank.. My Q is is it possible to get rid of the waste water into the canel.. The brown water... Many do I'm convinced they dump it in the water....
what's a lovely day for messing about on the water
Moulsford Railway Bridge at 17:54 is just one of many exciting moments ʕ•́؈•̀ʔ
I wish I had slowed down more while passing underneath.. Fascinating piece of architecture there!
@@JuliaHartley - I just replayed the bridge sequence a few times 💫
Is it called Goring by River?
Goring on Thames
@@RichardVobes ok
park a vehicle/car MOOR a vessel
Bedbug's maybe.
But there walk way so how can they own river Side .Would say don't have right because if they did see there boats tie up
The boats on the private moorings are probably the owners of the land, and the river path isn't on their land.
Got a bit bored now by episode 3. Same content as the last 2 really. Just more river shots and drone shots.
What did you expect? The sinking of the Titantic, cruising through the golden gate bridge, slipping into a whirl pool? Sorry mate, that is the lamest comment yet!
Thanks
Thanks so much - very kind of you.
