F the dad, focus on having a happy life with the mother. The dad clearly doesnt respect his family, he has been cruel for having an affair for 30 years. He never cared in the 1st place. Life would be so much better w/o someone like that.
2nd story my father would be dead to me. He could arrange to see me without her or never see me again. What a horrible monster

First of all, Morgan, you’re wise beyond your years. I’m 36 and recovering from narcissistic abuse and I have so much respect for you. Secondly, your dad is freakin amazing. Would you ever consider doing call in episodes where he provides advice? Cuz I would get in line immediately lol
Just a heads up, I don’t know if it’s every state but I know it is in mine, it’s actually illegal to not notify your sexual partners of you discovery of an std

CDC has links to the different STD/STI laws within the different states. Most apply to HIV but some do cover some STDs. The link will take you to the page but you can also Google CDC STD and the page will pull up. I am commenting this here for anyone who wants to see what their own state laws are.

Story #2 was so close to what I went through with my father (which I only see as a sperm donor now) cheating on my mom for decades.
I disagree with you Jerry. It sounds like OP's father is a narcissist, and doesn't give a shit to maintain the relationship between him and OP. OP shouldn't try to make it work when the other person doesn't want to. It's going to suck at the beginning, but OP will be better off in the future.
Yeah I disagree with Jerry also. This 'father' doesn't care. It will be hard but I'd shut the door and move on. I don't even think I'd give a reason, I'd literally shut the door. And if he knocked I'd just say you're busy. But I don't see him knocking.
It makes me wonder if the affair woman is a narcissist because the father comes across like he's being manipulated by her and OP is getting caught in the cross fire via the destruction of her father-daughter relationship. Though the father should be strong enough to sort himself out or know where to go to ask for help as he's now completely isolated from his family. It all just screams narcissist for the affair woman
story 4: why doesn’t OP & her bf just stay in their own room until tensions die down? sure H should apologize and it doesn’t resolve the underlying issue. but if it’s going to be extra tension on a weekend that should be fun then create that space as needed…
That divorce story really hit as my mom just left her crappy bf who she’s been with since I was twelve😭😭

For the second to last story, I think it's an unpopular opinion but if my friend cheats on their spouse, I immediately see them differently.
If they can betray and hurt their significant other, they're definitely capable of hurting or betraying their friends.
I think character shows how someone treats others, and I have no interest in remaining friends with someone so selfish or willing to hurt others. The person who cheated didn't even care about destroying the friend group or putting anyone in an awkward position. Who wants a friend like that?
My advice to them would've been to stay with the friends who are good people and have healthy relationships, not the cheater. Doesn't matter how long you've known each other tbh.
Completely agree. Although I think it’s a different story if you are already friends with someone and find out they cheated in the past, especially if it’s a relationship that was extremely juvenile. I can look past that, however if I’m actively friends with the couple and one cheats that’s a different story. I think the best way to go about their situation is not room with anyone at all. Everyone goes with their own party and if they run into each other, great, say hi and move along!
I respect your opinion. However I have a different view.
1. A spouse is for marriage, not dating bf/gf. Spouse cheating is different, but same rules apply.
2. I see the 'if u did it to them, what can u do to me.' However, if a person cheats on a partner. That doesn't compare to a non intimate relationship.
Let's b honest, we aren't screwin nor as intimate w/ our friends. Cheating doesn't compare w/ me n my friend bond over xyz.
Now a Spouse, I'd definitely need a deeper convo n understandin of why.
I'm not tryin to b mean or condescending, just givin a different view

A spouse can be a non-marital partner, it's any person you're in a long-term committed relationship with. The definition says so. Also, marriage isn't as common anymore, and many couples choose to go without it. It doesn't matter either way.
Also, it's not about who you're intimate with or having sex with. It's about loyalty, respect, empathy, etc. If you do not hold those values, it's fair that people don't want you around.
Also, if you cheat on your partner and expect your friends to cover for you, you're putting your guilt and lies onto THEM. That's not fair.
If you have friends that are genuinely good people who are capable of feeling things, then they won't enjoy you putting them in that spot.
I have had friends expect me to smile in their partners face and then bring their side person around later on once their partner leaves. It is SO uncomfortable. Don't put me in that position. It's unfair and weird.
If you're okay with that and don't feel empathy toward others, that's your own prerogative.
@austinkayla8 I highly doubt that Alejandra or Lauren would be cool with Morgan cheating on Justin yet still hang out with her and him and pretend everything's cool. They would tell Justin. It's the right thing to do.
It's uncomfortable and weird if you're a good person at heart. If you don't feel anything weird about that situation and you're okay with faking it, then idk what to tell you.

Marriage is no longer respected because people who should of dated longer, want that respect of hus/wife title. But still treated their relationship as a we're dating and it will be so easy to break up.
But now it's divorce and that's a whole different ballpark.
Marriage is held to the highest standards. Higher consequences.
If you can long-term it, you can marry.
There's also an age gap in this story. Girl just got legal to enter a bar. Buddy dang near 30 probably talkin bout fertilizer n mowin the lawn. He wanted tht young n fresh.
N the youngs definitely not thinking about an actual long-term whole life relationship

2nd Story: Jerry is right with one thing, which is we tend to support the parent who is hurting more than the other parent who created the awful situation. That being said, if I were the writer and wanted to have a relationship with my father, I would do a sit-down and make it very clear that his mistress is nothing to me and my family. She's just a parasite in my eyes and that is how it'll always be because that is how it has always been. If my father wants to spend his days with her there all the time and is not willing to meet with me or with my siblings without her around, then he can kiss a relationship with his kids goodbye. It's that simple. He made the mistake and he has to live with the consequences of that. Of course it'll hurt for the kids and the mom, but healing from a tumor hurts even after you remove it. In this case, please cut off the tumor from your life. If you want a relationship with it, keep it in a jar in the basement and go to it when you want to talk, but there is no reason to keep that cancer spreading in your life.
Story 4: I think the op wants to be with the friend but im going to be honest, even if we've been friends for 8 years, we can be friends but I can not respect or condone the actions also. I think she should just room with the bf. I don't understand trying to save the cheater's feelings at the expense of other hurt parties, including the person she's also dating.

For story 4, I think it says something about her that she’s ok to still be friends with a cheater. If it would’ve been a guy she would be getting dragged for still being associated with a cheater. I think she shouldn’t still be around that person, specially if it’s making so many people around her uncomfortable. I would want to see how she would feel if the same happened to her.

The 2nd story freaked me out so much because my mom was my dads mistress for 14 years, it ended and 10 years later started dating and they has remained faithful to each other for 16 years now. That’s 40 years all together. The different is I’m the daughter of the mistress one of 4 combined child
Honrstly i doubt there is any chance he has remained faithful. Never in my 26 years of life have I heard of a cheater only cheating once when it comes to a full blown mistress, only with a one night stand. He's absolutely cheating on your mother too

This is the first time I see Morgan going easy on a cheater. The story where the friend cheated is weird to me, I think OP shouldn't associate with cheaters in any way. Her boyfriend's feelings are valid in my opinion.
i think because it wasn’t the writer who did the cheating it was her friend. she doesn’t condone her actions it’s more of a she made her own bed but it’s not the writers problem to deal with the damage her friend caused.

30 whole years!?!? That woman had to share her whole entire marriage. Definitely call him out. They are both pathetic. I couldn’t forgive my dad if he did that to my mom and I would definitely have some fun being a biotch to the side lady. Maybe I grew up watching too many Mexican soap operas.
Story 4: I do not accept anyone telling me who I can spend my time with. A partner does not have the right to choose which friend their partner is allowed to hang out with at any time. It is up to the partner and friend to deal with their feelings instead of pushing them onto their partner and friend. It does help that you have fruends that align with your ethics as those are quite important to us as people.

Honestly I love Morgan and Justin and THT and even jerry but I had to stop watching because jerry keeps interrupting Morgan and Justin and intruding on their deep, helpful advice&feedback to repeat the same sentiment he has said multiple times already. We get it, it’s your show. Let everyone else talk. Ik morgan got flack for that on THT but I never rly saw that. I def see it here tho.

I feel like story three is a little dramatic. For one, if you didn’t want those people to find out about your issue, you shouldn’t have even done it to begin with. Second of all, it’s not like it’s HIV. It’s chlamydia. Take a shot of penicillin and move on. It’s really not that deep
