As someone on the autism spectrum, this song is a pretty good way of describing how the media I've hyper-fixated on has effected my life in various, deep ways. I've never watched the office, but the idea of a piece of media being a major comfort&influence on a life, particularly in hard times, is one I can highly relate to.
I'm the same way. Gravity Falls is almost 10 years old, but I've still had it as a special interest all these 10 years. It really did end up shaping me, and helping me through my major bouts of depression throughout middle and high school. It helped me find people I've been mutual with for a long time, and I'd say, without it, I'd be a very different person. The show means a whole lot to me, so I kinda wanna commemorate it this June (as June is when the shoe premiered.)

The Office has been such an incredibly big part of my life. I am 14 now and I remember watching it when I was two years old. I watched the Office the first night I slept in my own bed, but still in my parents room. I watched it when I moved out of Pennsylvania to Virginia, when I moved from Virginia to Maryland, Maryland to Kentucky, back to Virginia, and I watched it when I moved away from everything I knew and loved to Colorado. My family watched the Office to keep ourselves from crying from exhaustion after my baby brother was born, and I watched the Office to feel better after I was rejected. We watched the Office to celebrate my mom and I moving back in with my dad after he finally got himself sober, and I watched the night before high school started to stop stressing out.
Who I am is in these episodes.
So don’t you tell me that it’s just a show.
Edit: I am now 15! Thank you so much for all the likes and the love and encouragement in the comments💕 Now I am facing yet another move to yet another state. I also am finally on meds that I’ve needed forever. The Office and “Parks and Recreation” have been a big part of keeping me steady and grounded through those, and they will always be such a big part of my life. This song really captures how I feel about most TV shows, especially The Office. As you watch it over the course of your life, you grow a sentimental bond with it. It becomes a part of the way you act, the way you feel. AJR has a special talent to capture emotions in their beautiful music.

Recently my grandmother passed away of Alzheimer’s. I hardly spoke and watched my mother cry. I was going through stages of anxiety. Everyone tried helping my mom and I but nothing helped. Then I found this song. This song got me through super tough times and since I was a huge office fan I understood everything going on. Thank you AJR for producing this wonderful song.

this show, star vs the forces of evil, actually shaped and changed my life. i started watching it when i was 8 years old and ended right before i turned 13. through those years, i was bullied for liking the show and cartoons, in general, and i still am. but in the end, i’ve moved onto other cartoons and shows and embraced what i loved. then 2 years later, i started editing cartoons, finding a hobby i love (that could lead to a future career) and people who had the same interests as me. i had found this audio from a steven universe edit on instagram, which is also another show that i love that is also ending. so coming back here after star vs the forces of evil ended brought tears to my eyes.

This song actually hits me hard. I watched The Office with my dad, it was some of my best memories with him. After every long day, I could look forward to sitting on the couch with him and watch a show without having to worry about what would happen next, him holding me close. He also was the one to introduce me to AJR. Hearing this song reminds me of all those nights. He's gone now, but I still like watching the show or listening to the bands he played. This song makes me smile and want to cry at the same time. Thanks.

They watched Netflix to cope with the modern day hardships. It starts in Middle school, where he had his first crush. She then moved away, and he was hit hard and started coping with The Office. It then states how he turned down Jameson, and then promptly graduated from 8th grade.
When they reached season 6, their grandfather passed and it was devastating for the whole family. 'Who are we to wonder where we're going' is a statement about how you shouldn't always try to force yourself to wonder about what you could change in the life you had. Ya see, this is exactly how I feel about Steven Universe. That show has literally morphed me into the person I am today. It's help me deal with a lot of real life problems I've faced in my life. It's always been like I had something to help me get through it all! Even now with Steven Universe Future, it's all just stuck with me. Now that it's all ending, it's almost like saying I made it. I made it this far in life and survived through all my problems.
It's so sad hearing "It's just a kid's show" bc it's not and it's meant everything to a lot of older people than just little kids

I’d just like to state my appreciation for this song. It means so much to me, it’s my favorite song of all time. By far. TV is a big part of my life, my role models are on TV and my inspiration for basically everything that I do, everything that I’ve learned, every life lesson, every personality trait of mine is from TV and people tell me I’m obsessed and it’s a bad thing, that not everything is about TV. This is me. I cry and sulk and get back up to watch the TV shows that made up my childhood and listen to music. These generations have something with music and technology that the older generations wouldn't understand.

I’ve watched One Piece since I was like 10 it really hit me and my mom hard when my grandpa died I kind of disappeared into my room for a few weeks and only left for school watching One Piece was the only thing that made me happy and it helped me through the depression I was in. The only reason I started watching The Office was because of this song, I was just thinking, truly, how great of a show could it possibly be when a band writes a whole song about it.
One thing I can say, greatly undersold.
I have kept the last episode to watch later and I am excited.
This show has made me cry out loud, has made me laugh so hard that actually no sound came out, I'm not kidding, when Dwight turned around in that Meridith wig I lost all ability to breathe or stand.
When Michael left I felt so much heartache and even more when I found out he wasn't coming back...
This show has accompanied me through these past couple months and altough it wasn't years of growing up I still feel like it is part of me now.

Okay I have heard this song 100 times and I just realized it's about "the office" who knew I could love this song More then I did
This song continues to make me happy. Its how I discovered AJR. I was in 8th grade and I found an edit for the Office using this sound. I kind of recognized the voices (from Weak and Sober Up) and I wanted to hear the whole song. I was blown away by the fact that a group of brothers from New York wrote a song about my favorite TV show. I listened to the rest of the album that night, and it was life-changing. I literally love all of their songs. From The Living Room to Infinity Ep all the way to The Click and Neotheater, all of AJR's albums contain songs that continue to make me happy, and I can literally forget about anything while listening to their music.
