Although I still believe that Hwo's pressure and mix-up game is very overwhelming, I do recommend this video to many people who struggle against Hwoarang.

Man...I feel like there is no anti Hwo strategy...
An anti K-Wiss Hwo guide would be more realistic. Like your fav options out of what stance or your main go to's and how to stop them. But that would be suicide...
Just gotta recognize the players patterns....
That's like an anti Yoshi guide..... Yoshi and Hwo have so many options
At some point you just gotta use that Mike Tyson mentality "Evey one has a plan until they get punched in the face"
    Then act accordingly....
But good vid. People will still complain about Hwo.

Marcus Dobson naw even yoshimitsu is fairer. I’ve fought many iconic yoshi players. They don’t play the same and I’ve eaten a few suicides but yoshi can be stopped especially if you main a character that is tricky and have good movement. Characters like that require movelist studying and you may have to play around with them to understand them.

so basically side-stepping will be a 50/50 thing because you might not recognize fast enough which move the player will execute so you could have chosen the wrong side and be launched or get hit into his blender for more pressure, ducking also is not safe and could cause you half of your health if the player didn't drop the combo, because hwoarang has a ridiculous wall carry potential and an insane wall damage finisher :D
Best bet imo is to :
    A. Control your movement, K-backdash fast enough so you can launch him on whiff or at least avoid his blender or even interrupt him.. OR side step right before he commit a flamingo !
    B. (Which i don't prefer) Interrupt with a quick jab or dick jab and always mix between them to make it harder for the hwoarang player to predict you into low parry or normal parry

One thing that you forgot to mention is 1, 2, 3 lfs b+1 will beat jabs and other retaliation options.
Of course, it's more risky but it is still there and something you have to be wary about (df+1, 3 lfs b+1 to close out rounds cough)
Good video though! I would prefer it more if you had more of a script you followed so we had less uhms and ahs will watching but it's still really good content. Keep it up!

  • @MindLessWiz

    Hey man awesome video!
Wondering about LFS 2's tracking, was waiting for you to mention it. It's a safe option I like to throw out occasionally, mostly towards the end of a round. I feel like it can be a good option then and that it tracks pretty well (don't remember ever getting that stepped).

Is there a way for hwoarang to launch a low that’s -15f on block? I was playing a fend and he kept doing db3 I could read it to parry but, would block it repeatedly. Come to find out it was -15f when I got in practice mode but, can’t figure out a option other then ws3.

No not ub 3,4 or ub3,3 those are both i16. Hwoa has no ws15 frame launcher so ws3 is the best we have. If you know it's -15 low parry, but if you end up blocking then ws3

Thanks for the video man. It helps a lot. Though I did have a question about disrespecting 1,2 into flamingo. You mentioned you have to be careful mindlessly disrespecting it all the time cause RFS f4 could hurt you for it. Would 1,2,f3 and 1,2,f4 also force you to sometimes respect the transition? You didn't mention them in the video, so I was wondering it was maybe because you think it's possible to see Hwoarang transition and then disrespect it while not getting hit by the strings.
Like say you block 1,2 and are still blocking so you don't get hit by the strings, but then you see Hwoarang transition, and then decide to disrespect him. Like an option select so you don't get hit by the strings or anything else except maybe RFS f4.

    • @K-Wiss
      @K-Wiss  4 года назад +1

I find that I can see the difference between 1,2 f3/f4 and going into FLA. It might be different for other people but I genuinely don't have an issue with it so I just block in those situations
